Charges for routine maintenance are unreasonable. When I looked at my bill I noticed a charge for 2 hours of labor ($300) for simply changing just the spark plugs (just the plugs, not the wires). Repair pal suggests an average cost of $150 to $200 including labor (for a VW Jetta). I could understand if this was a V8, but for swapping out four spark plugs...that should take an hour, tops. I would think it's a mistake, but they quoted the price to me a few times over the phone. I agreed because it's tough for me to time off to take my car in for servicing, but I'm not sure I can justify going back if they are charging 2 hours of labor for what should be a 40 minute job.

I emailed Lorton Auto and they said my brake pads were good when they did my saftey inspection in December. i should not need brakes. I brought my car in 8/3. Lorton Auto brought me out to my car and showed me my brakes pads. They showed me with the measuring tool. I had more pad in the back than the front but both were good. They did a 50 point inspection that contradicted multiple things i paid KIA to do on 7/18 that KiA did not do. This is a trust worthy shop. Again they showed me. My car was where I could see it. They explained in detail & showed me the reading & meter that my brake fluid had 4% moisture. I paid KIA $200 + on 7/18 to do my brake fluid change. Lorton Auto is place from now on. Here I know my car will get good honest care. Here they show me what my car needs and don't try to scam me to make money.

Really feels like they treat your car how they'd treat their own cars: what needs to be done that will keep your car in great shape, but not overselling on costlier options. Feels like you can always go bigger and better with regard to car repair: do I want a fluid change or flush? Do I want the premium or ULTRA premium brake pads? They quoted me around $2,950 for an oil housing replacement, while the dealership quoted $3,000. So there is basically no price advantage at all. Then it got worse. On the first day, they gave me my car back without the underbody cover at all. When I came to pick it up, I clearly told them that I would take the cover myself and they didn't need to install anything, but instead they handed me someone else's cover, which does not even fit my car. On top of that, I had insurance that was supposed to cover specific damage, but they opened a claim for everything they possibly could, creating unnecessary complications. I would not recommend it to anyone.
