I had not eaten there in over a quarter of a century, and had missed their linguiça subs. Finally back in Dartmouth, I took my partner there. She loved the decor, which was exactly how I remembered it: the same live rubber tree, same faux Tiffany lamp sconces, real solid wood beams, all in a casual atmosphere. The subs did not disappoint. I asked how long they had been open, as I remember going there as a kid (I am 49 now), and was told that, at that location since 1976. This joint was complete slop. The pizza was buns--it tasted like toasted bread with some toppings. The chicken tasted like a rat. The only good thing was the mozzarella sticks. The chicken wings were mid, and the fries were just basic fries. I'm surprised this place has been around for 40 years. Buns food 1 star. read more

The service was friendly and professional when I called from the ball fields to order a pizza. I walked down and picked it up for some very nice young men who made sure I got everything I needed. I would call them polite, rather than friendly. They're quick to handle mostly to go orders, and they always offer extra tarter sauce. Oh, obviously I like to come here for the fried clams and fried scallops. I tried their scallop pizza too, which was delicious. They also have grinders and regular pizzas, but really, when you're so close to the scallop capital of the world, you should really eat them every chance you get. As far as the ambiance, they do have a nice table seating section, but otherwise it's just pick a drink out of the fridge and pay cash at the counter. I used to order out pizza and subs weekly, as it's close by and used to be excellent. I stopped buying pizza there when they really started cheaping out on the toppings (even when I ordered, and paid for, double toppings, it wasn't as good as other local places. Last week I stopped by for a tuna sub and Greek salad. The sub was thinner, and the salad skimpier, than the same order at Metro, and yet the price was slightly higher. Worse yet, the following morning my poop reeked of tuna fish. I eat tuna a pot, and this has never happened to me before. I may go back sometime, but it's increasingly unlikely. The pizza quality has taken a disappointing turn for the worse. On the positive side, takeout service is very fast. On the negative side most of the toppings appear to be ground fine to the point of not being recognizable. The latest bbq chicken showed only a few very small morsels visible. Overall, only the pepperoni and onion showed a stingy hand-placed amount of topping. The other three looking like the homogenized topping had been painted on, Not only was the topping thin, but the crust was thin too. The seasoning was okay, but overall, the texture was very disappointing, For a bit more money, we have found a much higher quality pizza source closer to home and for only a bit more money. Friendly Pizza, not so friendly. ( they took down 2 already so here it is ) It was a problem with the Quasi owner lady. This reservation was booked 6 weeks beforehand, at the time we had our last group ( bigger at that ). It was confirmed 2 weeks in advance and then 4 days beforehand. They did have just one young waitress on despite knowing full well about our group. Then what happened was the place filled up in couples etc and the owner/cook was forced to help. She then took and cooked and served orders ( the same orders we had put in an hour BEFORE the "rush") to people who in some cases were there an hour after our orders were taken. That's when I calmly got up and approached her as to what was going on. Half of us were there at 1130 and all but one who came in at 12:10 ,'were there at 12. Our order was taken at 12:07 then only 4 other people not part of our group came in. At 1:10 I got up and asked where our meals were considering by then some 16 people who came in at least 20 minutes after our last person, were served and eating. That's when she started screaming at me about not knowing we were starving and she had taken the other people first as she had waited on them. I sat back down she came to out table and continued screaming at us, upsetting everyone. When I then told her I didn't understand what happened to her and why she was screaming at us when everything was fine the last time and she opened up with "you don't understand there are starving people ..I interrupted her and said she should understand the whole place was hearing her and I would place this story all over Facebook for everyone to see. At that point she grabbed a lady's hand and started praying and calmed right down. She eventually blamed the waitress but this was not the issue. She " threw that poor girl under the bus". Our order was taken at 12:07 I complained at 1:10 And our meals of sandwiches and fried scallops or fish and dinner salads started coming out at 1:38. None of those meals were exotic or any different than what other patrons were ordering and eating 90 minutes AFTER we had ordered. Her behavior was surreal, despite my scallop meal being delicious. All that being said, have you EVER been to a restaurant where they don't ask you as soon as you sit down if you want a drink? In my case and another lady's we waited half an hour were never asked and when we asked for coffee the owner told us "no one was ordering anything until everyone came" I will never go back there. read more

We love the pizza here! It's so fresh and flavorful and the dough has the perfect crisp on the bottom. The inside is usually a chill place to sit and eat the pizza and you can get fast service to get the pizza to go. It's mid range pricing for pizza, kind of the same as dominoes but friendlys has fresh ingredients and taste. A large pizza with 3 toppings is $15. Comfortable family atmosphere that I find quite cozy and although some don't love all the plants, I remember some of those SAME plants being there when I was small and now they are looking like trees hitting the ceiling. I love them and wish I had such a green thumb. My family ate here again recently, ordered 2 pizzas and french fries (dine in). Our waitress was not very attentive and actually tried delivering them to the wrong table (it came as an appetizer). Although I do love this restaurant and their food always comes quickly to the table, always hot and the way we ordered it, the waitstaff is hit or miss. This is a great long time family owned establishment that I have been frequenting since I was a child. We have ordered take-out many a days/nights and our food was ready when we arrived. We get our food and I get fish & salad, I said where my fires, she said you wanted salad. I said yes, instead of extra fries. She said it's either fries or salad, I said yes, but fish & chips is the meal, not fish. I did't get my fries and they'll no longer get my business. That's the stupidest thing I ever heard. Friendly pizza has been a staple in my family for about 2 decades now. Not only is it my favorite pizza place, but it is really much more than that. Staff is always friendly but without the in-your-face attitude of some other restaurants, very laid back and welcoming. Their tuna subs are amazing and their french fries are always plentiful. Everyone from my grandmother to the kids of the family love their food and will drive out of the way for it. They do not accept cards but there is an ATM on site.
