Went here for lunch with my bf since this is his favorite spot to go to when we are back in town! Food: I honestly was impressed by the gyoza/mandun (not pictured). The sauce they served is definitely homemade, and we ordered the steamed ones which really let the flavor soak in. Both my bf and I ordered the raymun noodles, mine had a lot of flavor due to the added kimchi (which is also noticeably homemade). Altogether the food was good and we enjoyed our meal. Service: our waitress was great and gave us ample time to look at the menu! Ambiance: it's a small little shop, but imo those are the best places. They have some booths, and are playing kpop as the music ambiance! Overall, I would give this place a 4.3/5. As the raymun was good, but I think I would've enjoyed another dish like bulgogi. read more

All the great Korean restaurants I've visited have been in inconspicuous locations in strip malls and From the Seoul is no exception. I visited with a friend for lunch and enjoyed everything I had. We shared some steamed vegetable mandu which was tasty. I ordered the stone pot bibibamp with beef. The vegetables were fresh and the beef was tender. I could have used more gochujang but I still enjoyed my meal. I also had a plumcha which was sweet and refreshing. I loved all the banchan that came with the food. Service was attentive. I enjoyed watching the K-pop videos playing on TV. I would definitely come back next time I'm in the area. read more

Stopped here for lunch after a day in New Bedford after seeing so many great reviews. We were definitely not disappointed! When you walk into the restaurant, you will first see the largest pothos plant that could possibly live indoors. Then you'll notice the K-pop music video adding some upbeat music to the space. Even with the music, the space was pretty quite and it was easy to have a conversation. The food was excellent! We got two Korean drinks - plumcha and sikhye, which were very refreshing. I got jap chae with beef, which was a savory delight! My friend got sandubu and loved it! It was definitely spicy but in a way that makes you want to keep eating. This is one of my favorite local restaurants, hands down. I've been a number of times, and explored the menu a bit, and everything I've ever had here has been exceptional. The japchae, bulgogi, and kimchi jeon are a couple favorites. All the banchan are delicious as well. From the Seoul is definitely one of the more expensive places to eat in the immediate area, but well worth it in my opinion. Many items on the menu have hard to source, imported ingredients, and a lot of things appear to be made from scratch. The service in the restaurant is always quick and friendly, and I personally love that there is always K-pop playing. It's a small restaurant, but not cramped so I don't really mind. If I had to find anything to really complain about, I would say that I'm terribly disappointed my favorite drink, sujeonggwa, is no longer on the menu. read more

I will first go on record by saying I LOVE From The Seoul. I loved it 10 years ago with the previous owners, and I love it now with the current owners, who are exceptionally kind. The food is absolutely incredible, better than most places even in major metropolitan areas that I've had, and the quality is always consistent. But there is a glaring issue with this place, and that is the prices. I cannot believe how exorbitantly expensive this food is. I know I've just said previously that this place is better (in my opinion) than some places I've been to in Providence and Boston, but not DOUBLE the price better, which is what things cost here, and its been like this unfortunately since the new ownership, and has been a problem since before inflation. I simply can't justify spending $28 on an average size bulgogi plate, when the same portion costs half that nearly anywhere else. I used to come here at least once a week back when bulgogi-pork bokkeum was $12-16 a plate, but the cost just simply makes eating there consistently unsustainable. To put it into perspective, order takeout here would be comparable to ordering takeout from Spain in Cranston, and that just doesn't make sense. Really still love this place, but I know this is a pain-point in the community and hope they can turn this around. read more

I'm really impressed with this little spot. The food was incredible. My wife and I keep talking about it, since we first went there a few weeks ago and now we're going to go again tonight. The inside is a typical strip mall restaurant decor and it would be nice if they made it a little more comfortable, but the food and service makes up for all of that. They have all kinds of different choices for vegetarian and vegans and all types of foods for omnivores and meat eaters. They even sell alcohol if you are looking for that. Overall great place! The Smokey windowed exterior hides a real chill spot. I started with the Jeju breeze, a coconut rum drink that was perfectly balanced (but I asked for a side of lime juice that made it just the way I want), while we wait for pork ribs and steamed dumplings. The atmosphere is cool, and instead of the same crap on each of the three TVs, it's good Korean music on the big screen, a George Clooney action movie on mute across the room, and news headlines for people who watch that crap on the third. The pork is a good portion, very tender. I actually thought it was beef at first as the marinade makes it very dark and brown. But tasty! The dumplings are nice and full, not thin and weak like your typical takeout. I like it here. If I could, I'd tie a rope around this place and park it next to my house. read more

We love from the Seoul. Only downside was the speed of which food was served. You will never go wrong with japchae ! We also had the sweet and sour chicken ( we ordered yumyang chicken though but it's ok ) and seafood stew . I didn't particularly like the seafood stew . ordered yuengling but our server gave us yuengling light, which once again was not a problem. First of all this is my honest opinion. The server was not nice she was chewing all the time like not giving a damn, we asked her to recommend us something in the menu but she didn't. She was so busy chewing her gum. I order a piña colada don't ever order a piña colada from here so sweet and not your typical Piña Co Lada. It is very expensive if you want Ramen noodles just make them home and is going to taste way better, the chicken was so dry like Desert dry that's how dry it was. Noodles at home are better and add whatever you like and is going cost less than what they charge in this place the prices are so ridiculous expensive to what they offer. Just stay away. read more

This was a pleasant surprise of authentic korean food. We loved that the waiter was Korean and understood exactly what we wanted. He was so kind and very easy to work with. The food was delicious- the bibimbop needed the sauce - it was a bit bland without it but I think they also did that purposefully so you can season it as you like. Honestly, the food was not too bad. Definitely over priced. I have been to other Korean spots where the kimchi is included, here is was almost 5 bucks for a small order, and honestly I was not a fan. The other food did taste good. Honestly the worst part of the experience was the server!!!! I asked a question about the menu and got a sarcastic remark that was intended to make me feel stupid. Also, I ordered a fountain soda and it tasted like the machine had not been cleaned in years. When I asked her for a bottled soda she looked at me like I was crazy. Then I said sorry this one just doesn't taste right. She laughed at me and said well, you can grab something from the fridge over there and walked away. From the Seoul, is one of the bright spots of North Dartmouth. There are many places to eat in North Dartmouth but there are not too many quality places to eat that are not chain restaurants. This Korean place is a nice change of pace restaurant in the area and I wish that they still delivered. They stopped delivering but this is a place I'm willing to walk a half hour to, I know I'm weird, to enjoy their food. My advice? Eat your order at the restaurant you get to enjoy the bar, Korean dramas playing on the big screen and ESPN on the side wall. Also, when you dine in the restaurant you are given mini appetizers that you wouldn't get with take out. All the food that I've tried has been platters that were served with rice and kimchi. When it comes to appetizers the mandu(dumplings) were delicious, the jeon(vegetable pancakes) were another good addition, chicken skewers(flavorful strips of chicken) and the spicy rice cakes are great to get. Certain waiters and waitresses go by Ddk for the rice cakes and you should get them you will love them if you love spicy flavorful food. The beef dishes (LA Galbi and Bulgolgi) Are very flavorful and are served with a side of rice and kimchi. I prefer the bulgolgi since it is already cut into chop stick friendly pieces and perfect with rice. The food is served on a hot metal plate that keeps the food nice and hot. BE CAREFUL OR YOU WILL BURN YOURSELF ON THE SUCCULENT FOOD. The chicken wings are great especially if you are not used to Korean wings. They take much longer then other things on the menu BUT the wait is well worth it. The wait allows them to double fry it and give you wings that are crispy and sauced at the same time. The other wings are good as well seeing that they are sweet and mildly spicy. The food is nothing short of excellent and for about $10 for a meal it is well worth it by yourself or with a group of about 4 friends. If you go to UMass Dartmouth don't graduate without eating their food at least once. This is miles better than most offerings in the area read more

This is one of those rare gems south of Boston. The quality and most importantly the freshness of the ingredients are superb here. It's Boston quality without breaking the wallet. The atmosphere is laid back as is at most authentic Korean restaurants. They have all the main core Korean dishes and apps. I recommend the bibimbap (rice & veggie w/meat dish) which comes in a stone pot. And for soups (if you like something hot & spicy) the potato & meat soup. It may take some time during busy hours (which all depends on the day) because everything is cooked from scratch. It's family owned- they are down to earth & personable. Using a clever play on words, From The Seoul is a small place serving Korean food. Now, if you're looking for atmosphere, then this might not be the place for you. The dining room is basically a glorified take out seating area. But the food more than makes up for it. I was skeptical at first when my girlfriend recommended we try Korean food. I, being a man in a relationship, eventually caved in. We arrived and seated ourselves. The friendly waitress took our order for mandu appetizers. Mandu is basically a dumpling of either vegetable, pork, or beef. You can have them either fried or steamed. We had the steamed veggies and they were perfect. I had some good practice using the chopsticks on the mandu but ended up asking for a fork when it came to the main dish. Our first time here, I had ordered Korean short ribs. The dish was very tasty with a sweet BBQ sauce that was to my liking. Now all the main dishes come with sides in individual small cups shared by the diners at your table. Some of them include asparagus, pickle in a hot sauce, bits of fish, and other combinations of sweet and spicy vegetables. My cousin at the time had ordered the bibimbap. It looked good and I decided the next time I came I would try it. Boy, am I glad I did! Bibimbap literally means mixed rice. It is cooked in a bowl filled with rice, beef, carrots, cucumbers, mushrooms, and topped with a fried egg. The bowl comes to your table piping hot! You then mix all the ingredients creating a perfect aromatic dish. It also comes with a spicy pepper sauce on the side that you can add if you'd like. I don't because I honestly don't want to ruin the perfect combination of flavors. After filling my stomach, I never complain when the bill comes because the prices here are very affordable. You have to do yourself a favor and try the bibimbap. It is fantastic. And definitely good for the Seoul. read more

Been coming back here for years and it still rates highly. Recently had the Chicken Wings with Yam Yung sauce which is very good. Big portion and the wings were substantial themselves, not the tiny little wings you see at some other establishments. Bibimbap is a favorite when dining in. Comes in a heated iron bowl, which helps to continue cooking all of the different ingredients while you mix in the gochujang. It also helps in case you need to use an extremely hot and heavy piece of iron to defend yourself. Service can be a little slow, mainly because they're understaffed at peak times, which is a valid knock on this place. The servers are polite, accommodating and seem to be aware of the situation. Which is in some ways worse than just slow service. I don't want to ponder over the proletariat plight while I'm pigging out on pork ribs. Does that make me a bad person?
