The reason I'm giving 1 star is not because of the service. Our waitress was nice, but the problem was the food. I ordered mac n cheese bites and waffle fries. The waffle fries were mediocre at best. It was like each time I was picking one up and putting it in my mouth I was taking a gamble. 50/50 whether or not it would be good or completely undercooked. The mac n cheese bites were horrid. It looked okay from the outside, but I wanted to spit it out immediately. I'm actually feeling nauseous writing this review. It tasted and smelled atrocious. Ok first off. It took forever to be seated. Snd once we did get seated it took over an hour to get our food. But I'm still giving the place 4 stars for one reason. Our server. Jennifer was incredibly patient, polite and more importantly understanding. Her customer service and handling of a bad situation earned her a nice tip from me and this review even tho the experience was bad. I wish more restaurant's had servers like her. How can I give less than a star! Went in to pick up an already made cake. It took 35 minutes for them to write happy birthday shannon. And apparently no one knows how to spell shannon or write it. Jackson Pollock must be working in the back. And then after 35 minutes of trying to write on the cake, they asked if it was paid for, which it was within the first 60 seconds of being there, all three employees walk away from it instead of handing it to me. Then a fourth employee asks if it was paid for, answer yes, and I have to ask for it so I can get the hell out of there and get told not to curse. First off I want to say my family loves the ice cream sundaes here. We also enjoy eating in every now and then. The reason for the review is lately the ice cream take out is like soup..!! It appears the freezers are set to a higher temperature to either save money on utilities, make it easier to scoop or they are just malfunctioning. It doesn't seem to matter what flavor you select as they all are to mushy. Long gone is the Friendly's of my youth. The menu changed quite a bit and the quality of the food and service diminished as well. Only reason to come here is the ice cream. The same sundaes are around and they're just as great as I remember. If you're coming for lunch or dinner, bring earplugs. Yes this is Friendly's the restaurant chain that everyone grew up with since childhood but when I ordered my Red Velvet Milkshake, I did not realize that it would be the best thing since sliced bread. We had excellent service. Our server was Taylor, and he was very quick and efficient yet friendly and attentive. He has a great attitude, making small talk with guests. It literally took us forever to order because we were chitchatting, and he was very patient with us, coming back frequently in case we were ready. friendlys is one of the best places in the world. I went in here as a child and I go now and it still brings me the same joy. me and my boyfriend went in today for the free quarter pounder with cheese when you buy any soft drink. the quarter pounder was amazing, but they put mayo on it and my boyfriend doesn't like mayo. they upped the price of the drinks to $3 but it came with a free burger so it was worth it. the ice cream here is also amazing but we did not get any today. friendlys is the spot, we will be back soon. read more

Was craving a good peanut butter cup sundae which I haven't had in a while! Went there and walked in to the ice cream take out side and we we're the only ones in at the time. My wife and I said hello to the young woman working the register she just starred blankly at us and walked away leaving us standing there like idiots not even a hello! Finally another woman comes to the register (slightly more welcoming..) and says what can I get for you. We place our order of only three sundaes. We wait 20-25 minutes and tolerated a bunch of young kids moving slow cracking jokes with each other the whole time while trying to make the ice cream orders. Finally I was tired of waiting 25 minutes for three sundaes while it was slow so I went to the counter. A kid goes what did you get then he turns around and starts digging through bags in the to go order freezers and goes ohhh I think this is yours here you go. What a mess! To top it all off the sundaes literally had maybe a tablespoon if that of each topping and the whipped cream was flat and melted because they made our sundaes and apparently left them sitting meanwhile we were standing there waiting the entire time.. did not see one manager to be found or at least one employee that looked like they had any care about the business or their job nonetheless. If I could put no stars, I would. I have been a vegetarian for two years and tonight my friends and I decided to take a trip down memory lane to Friendly. I ordered the veggie burger and when it was served it came with bacon. I thought this was suspicious however upon further inspection took notice of the rubbery porous texture that looked like a soy burger commonly bought at Costco or BJS. I picked the bacon off and ate me meal. When I later looked at the receipt I was shocked to find out it was a turkey burger. I have never experienced this poor level of service or sheer level of indifference to my being a vegetarian. I will NEVER go back to this chain restaurant and this service reflects the restaurant any poor quality. There are much better diner like eateries and this one deserves to shut down like the rest of them. read more

After walking in no one acknowledged us for at least 5 minutes despite the manager sitting by the door on the phone oblivious to his surroundings and the fact they were not busy at all. We were finally seated in the back section which was filthy despite the fact they have recently improved the look of the restaurant, garbage under every table and French fries smashed into the carpeting. The kids weren't offered crayons or kids menus and after asking for them they never arrived. Waitress was friendly and quick but the sundaes were lacking the toppings they normally are made with. Overall a horrible experience and will not go back. Friendly's was the goto place as a kid 30 years ago but that has obviously changed. This was one of the worst meals I've ever had. We ordered take out from here. A Buffalo Chicken wrap was ordered with NO Blue Cheese and NO Tomoato and low and behold this wrap was loaded with both. They forgot a Diet Coke as well. When the Manager Sue was called, she was very rude arguing with me and talking over me never once apologizing or trying to make it right. Customer Service at its finest! This isn't the first time I've had a issue but I was trying to give them another chance and support my community, never again! While we don't normally frequent Friendly's we love the lobster roll in the summer time It is chock full of lobster on a toaster buttered roll. If I could give 0 stars I would. This was by far the most nasty thing I ever had happened to me. They messed up my order 2 times I told them no whip cream on any sundae I ordered 4 so they had to remake the order. After remaking the order on one of the sundae they put whip cream again. As I'm watching all this happen and the manager stand right next to the employee he took his hand and dug out the whip cream with his hand then noticed he put to much whip cream and then proceeded to take out a scoop of ice cream from the sundae with his hand then tried to cover it up with more toppings. And then proceeded to give me the sundae and put it in my bag. when I told him I just seen what he did he didn't apologize he took the sundae out the bag and remade it.
