Service was FAST and staff attentive. Food was food. We got a turkey club with chicken noodle soup and a BLT with fries. No chicken in soup, no fries with BLT addressed with waitress and she quickly amended. A nice coffee menu well worth the looksy. The diner itself is beautifully renovated. Modern but not cold and stuffy, lots of browns and greens, with some old time photos recognizing the long history of the diner. Gorgeous atmosphere really. A family institution that has been ruined. We have been going here for four generations and sadly have no desire to return anymore. We visited twice since it's reopening after the fire. The last visit confirmed that we'll never go back. There are other LI diners with better pricing, food and service. Our last visit started with hot coffee being spilled on my husband's hand by the employee. Then there was no spoon to stir the sugar when a new cup was provided. We had to flag another employee to get a spoon since she disappeared. Never was offered refill on coffee or water. The waitress was nice but lacked training, she didn't even know the menu that the eggs Benedict order was missing the spinach. We received 2 orders with iced cold over cooked poached eggs, the waitress response was that she saw the cook take them out of the water. Also one of them was missing the spinach. Back they went to be made correctly. The new orders came back and one was missing the cooked tomatoes. We didn't mention this because we just wanted to eat. Our eating was stopped early due to the black hair found under the poacher egg. By then we gave up, flagged down another employee because we couldn't find our waitress. She reluctantly took the hairy eggs and we asked for the manager. The manager didn't come to the table but the waitress came back and said the manager said we wouldn't be charged. We left a tip on the table and left heartbroken that the Peter Pan Diner we knew and loved was gone forever. I visited Peter Pan diner tonight with a friend and a piece of steel wool was found in the mashed potatoes, luckily it was spit out before swallowing. Told the waiter about the steel wool and showed him the piece, he said oh that has happened before and he said he reported it to the manager. Asked the waiter to report to manager and he came back and asked what free dessert we wanted. WTF? Went to pay and asked for a discount, and was offered more dessert or pastry. I demanded 20% off. Reluctantly we got 20% off instead of a dessert or pastry bribe. We will never go to Peter Pan diner again in fear of swallowing steel wool in the food Or a visit to the hospital. Peter Pan recently reopened after a fire took out the old location in 2024. Walking into a brand-new version of a place that's been around for generations is a little strange, but the rebuilt space holds onto the diner's identity well enough. Food 4/5 We ordered an omelette and basic eggs. Both came out well, not overcooked, not swimming in grease. Nothing on the plate is going to end up in a food magazine, but solid comfort food. No digestion issues. Service 4/5 I ordered the wrong thing by mistake and they fixed it quickly without any fuss. The waitress came by once for follow up. Ambiance 4/5 Modern lighting, nostalgic photos on the walls. You can still tell this place has some history behind it, even if the walls are new. Cleanliness 5/5 Brand new construction, so a 5 here is the starting point, not an achievement. Still, it was clean. Bathroom didn't look like it was remodeled (at least not the floor.) No issues though. Passed the inconspicuous location dirt test. Parking 2/5 There's a lot, but it's on the small side. At busy times it can be difficult to park there and the parking lot becomes a maze of cars squeezed in all over. Value 4/5 Supposedly any meal before 3 PM comes with pancakes. Ours didn't. I wasn't planning to eat them anyway so I let it go, but worth knowing if you were counting on that. Portions are fair for what you pay. Overall 4/5 Peter Pan is back. Welcome back it was a little late but not as long as they said it was nice to be back after a year after the fire I had turkey bacon eggs over easy toast french fries prices went up a little bit, but after the fire, I guess it's worth it now they have a little bar area. It seems like it's bigger with more seating. The service was good. The young lady took care of us very nice and friendly even the guy who cleaned up the tables we gave him a tip as well. I was able to replace pork sausage with turkey which is a bonus. The waitress and assistant were nice and very attentive. Prices went up a little but not too bad. They recently reopened. The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean since it's brand new. Service was just adequate. We were seated pretty quickly, waiting less than 10 minutes. The menu items were pricey, and the food was just okay. We ordered a cafe mocha, a caramel latte, and the combo fajitas with chicken, steak, and shrimp for $29.95. The meat portion was small, mostly veggies and cheese, and it came with only three small tortillas and no other sides. The fajitas had good flavor, but there were only three pieces of shrimp. Overall, it was an okay experience, and for the price, I probably wouldn't go back. read more

At last!! Our beloved Peter Pan Diner has finally opened. After a devastating fire, the restaurant has welcomed back loyal patrons.Today, I went to have breakfast with my parents. It's situated on the Service Road North at Sunrise Highway. The parking lot was packed. We waited for about 20 minutes for a table. After waiting, we were seated at a booth. The decor is similar to the previous one; it's more warm and inviting with dark bronze and wood tones, with a touch of a beautiful green, that reminds me of the Irish Spring soap. The staff, as always were at all times, polite and met all our needs. I saw that most of the old customers recognized the workers, waiting at their tables; chatting amicably. As for our orders, we're sticking to the classics. Veggie omelette for me.amd my mom, two fried eggs, sausage and toast for my dad. Every was hot and very tasty. We will come back again. read more

Extremely disappointed after two visits. The first time my burger medium came out raw, but it was opening weekend and you expect a few mixups, on the second visit the tom turkey wrap bore no resemblance to what was normal pre fire. I was served a salad wrap with a turkey cameo. The food is nothing like it was before the fire. The staff seems like this is their first job and the remodel is insane. It is loud, adding a bar in a place that closes at 10 pm is a waste and adding a tree to collect dust is an error. The menu is limited, which is fine but I expect you to do them well. The only thing that has increased are the prices. This is bad. This is bad-bad. read more

So glad they are back. I returned to Peter Pan Diner today and it was worth the wait. I called the day before because I was going with a party of eleven and they said to arrive about 15-20 minutes early to help prepare. We waited about 25 minutes and and everyone had a great time. The host Rolando was honest and patient and he made sure we were seated comfortably. The service and food were great. Good size portions and everyone's food came out relatively together and warm. I had the scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage, bacon, potatoes and a toasted bagel. It was all cooked well and as I requested. In fact everyone's order was correct even the person who ordered steak and eggs. The staff sang Happy Birthday to my sister and other customers joined in. I loved the atmosphere of the place and the nostalgic pictures on the walls reminding everyone that this place has history! The tab for 11 people to have breakfast was $272 which averages to about $25 per person which was more than fair for freshly made food that didn't taste commercial. Went for lunch at the newly refurbished PPD. One thing that hasn't changed is lack of parking tho there really is no room for improvement. One of us had a delicious cheeseburger piled high with raw onions(requested) & extra crispy French fries. Another had a Grilled chicken wrap which was deliciously moist in the thinnest wrap with amazing seasonings & of course fries. Lastly was a grilled chicken salad with tender chunks of chicken again seasoned to perfection. We each were served pickles & cole slaw to start. The place was pristine & bustling with a 20 minute wait. Our waitress Athenna was friendly & very welcoming. The old world pics added to the beautiful surroundings. The food was tasty; I'll give them that. But it was sooo noisy I wanted to leave before we were even seated (but my companion refused). Along with my food I got a headache. It was also freezing cold, in spite of a sweatshirt. Twice in the hour we were there the wait staff "yelled out" that they had a customer with a birthday & led a chorus of "happy birthday." I assume this is a known thing but it was an interruption. Not that we could have much a conversation anyway due to the noise level. The prices were unbelievable. Was thrilled to be back at the Peter Pan after all this time. Renovations are beautiful and it looked very clean. Menu is slimmed down, but had all the things you'd expect to be able to get a diner. I actually got a non-diner item: a Pear & Fig Formaggio sandwich which was delicious though a little on the small side. Of course the stellar fries made up for that. I had one of the daily specials - chicken and steak tidbits. Both were seasoned perfectly, tender, and delicious. The special came with sweet potato fries and the waitress recommended maple syrup mayo sauce. The combination was amazing! We were excited to go to the newly reopened Peter Pan diner as we have been hearing great things. It was very nicely renovated which is why I would give them an extra star but other than that it was terrible. My wife was told last minute they were out of cheese for her burger so she just quickly chose something else. I got a club sandwich with the most dry & fatty turkey I have ever had and the lettuce was literally so bad it was turned to mush and they didn't even give us pickles or coleslaw which everyone around us had. I can't believe I was even served that & the waitress was nowhere to be found and we were starving so I just picked everything off my sandwich and had a $20 bacon sandwich with some fries. Needless to say I will not being going back here. Poor service and even worse food. Disappointed is an understatement. read more

Glad to see they're back. Been going there for years and was looking forward to their reopening. My daughter and I went there on opening day for breakfast. The inside looks beautifully done. The service was a bit slow which we understood since it was opening day. When the food arrived, we were very disappointed they changed their home fries. They had the best home fries of any place. The food itself was just ok. The prices definitely went up but nowadays everything is more expensive. They added some new items to their menu. We'll definitely go back for lunch just not breakfast unless they bring back the original home fries. read more

My daughter and I had been wanting to this dinner since we moved out to LI. The day we were planning to go we couldn't be there had been a huge fire. So we have been waiting patiently for them to reopen. Today was finally the day we were waiting for. We were seated immediately but after 15 minutes I had to get up and find out who was our waitress because we were tired of waiting. Finally they found sent us a very nice server to attend us. She very nice and pleasant. However, it didn't make up for the bland and tasteless food we had. The sliders were dry snd the bread was brunt, the fries were gross and undercooked. Three meals, wait let me rephrase that, three basic meals, grilled chicken salad should not be 20 dollars, a basic burger and fries, 18 dollars and a turkey club, 18 dollars. Three people eating, and mind you, NO extras, just three basic meals and a soda for my wife was 89 dollars. Also the music is SO loud in the place that we couldnt even chat. Food is very good, but the service has been terrible! I have been there twice in the last 3 weeks and the first time we waited 40 minutes before getting our food! First had to get someone's attention to take our order. People after us got their food before us. I had to ask the waitress where is our food? The second time again no one came to take our order. The hostess saw us and took our order. Never received a check so went up to the register to tell them what we got and she had to fine the order by table, took another 20 minutes for that. You won't find tinkerbell or Captain hook dining here, but you will find a great cup of coffee and food. The service was Awesome as our server Lauren was outstanding! We had the Peter pan Panini which has grilled chicken, spinach, roasted peppers and mozzarella cheese. We also ordered the turkey club which had thin slices of turkey, pesto, lettuce with a honey mustard dipping sauce. They knocked both sandwiches out of the park. The curly fries and matzoh ball soup were delicious as well. The parking lot is small so be careful where you park. I always get nervous as spaces are tight and the cars are huge. Overall, you will love this little diner. The dessert window in the front showcases some real decadent cakes as well. read more

So happy they are back. Great Cheeseburger. The seating arrangement however to the south (to the left when you walk in) is horrendous. Sitting on the exterior you feel like you are being watched and can hear the conversation of the table across the aisle who is literally watching you eat. Bizarre design. read more

Unfortunately, Peter Pan diner is now much too expensive. I'm a long time customer & was so very happy to return yesterday after it's closing due to fire. The renovations are lovely. The food is as good as ever, but now costs way too much for my return. Everything has increased by $10 to $15/item. A greek salad with grilled chicken costs $28 + tax with terrible, sweet pink dressing! Also, the waitress was nice, selling the food, but couldn't get a take out order correctly completed. The total bill came to $58 with tip for a salad & a sandwich. That's a tank of gas! Its sad, for 25 years, I really, really liked this diner. read more

We were really excited to support the reopening of Peter Pan. Unfortunately, it was the worst food I've ever had at a diner. French onion soup was almost clear, onions were sliced huge and not caramelized and it was served on n a bowl (not a crock) with what appeared to be microwaved cheese. It didn't get much better from there. $19.99 for a patty melt which was overly greasy and soggy undercooked fries. The menu is much more limited than before the closure so everything on it should be good. Need to find a new chef. read more
