I happened to spot a Friendly's while driving along Sunrise Highway and decided to stop in. When I walked inside, it was packed, which wasn't surprising since Friendly's has become somewhat of a rare find these days. I ordered the mozzarella sticks and fries. The mozzarella sticks were actually really good crispy, hot, and definitely the highlight of the meal. The fries were just average, nothing particularly memorable. The staff was friendly and provided good service. My only concern was that I noticed a few employees were not wearing gloves. Fortunately, the employees handling my food were wearing them, so it didn't directly affect my experience, but it's something management should address. As for the ambiance, it was the typical Friendly's atmosphere comfortable and familiar. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd stop by again, especially for the mozzarella sticks. read more

Came in here because the Ronkonkoma location closed down. Typical Friendly's themed decor. Restaurant was empty at lunchtime. The hostess/waitress was friendly but service was sooooo slow. I've noticed at many friendly locations across the island that the quality of the food has declined! I bring my 10-year-old niece to eat there so I'm not expecting anything amazing but my first job was at Friendly's and the food used to be really good! If my 10-year-old niece says it's too greasy to eat then what's the point of going there if they can't even please as a child? She got the shark ice cream and that was legit! I want to support Friendly's because I grew up on them, but with the slow service and low quality food, it's hard to do so! Friendly's has always been our local ice cream place, and it continues to be after all these years! Some of my best memories were stopping in after baseball games, getting dropped off when we were kids, grabbing dinner after a movie, or just getting ice cream on a hot summer day. Waitresses are amazing. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and care about making a good experience. Service is prompt, and on point. The restaurant itself is also very clean and well-maintained. Friendly's isn't just a restaurant, it's true Americana, and tied to years of family memories and traditions. Now as an adult, I'm taking my kids to Friendly's and making new memories. At my best friends house and our kids were running amuck. She asked, should we just take them to Friendly's. They all perked up at the thought of ice cream and off we went. It was quiet. A Friday at 3pm and it was us and an older couple in the restaurant. They didn't mind our loud children, which we apologetically tried to calm over the course of our early dinner. But that's the great thing about Friendly's. You know walking in it's about loud families and being comfortable in your surroundings. Think Ground Round or Okey Dokey from back in the day. So my friend and I weren't as modified as we would usually be and a place with a different atmosphere. The food was generic, American diner like food and it held up to it. You come here for the ice cream, period. It's really some of the best around and hit different from the restaurant. A sundae comes with a kids meal so I got to have some of Bubs' banana split (one of the reasons why we call him Brucie Bananas is because he lovessss bananas). Visiting family and was driving back to the hotel when we had to do a turn around to come here. Thought they pretty much were all closed... First time ever using the take out window. It was almost 10 PM in the summer and the girl at the counter was polite, and quickly made our items. My husband had a black raspberry Fribble, which he said was very good (He said Graeter's in Ohio and Kentucky' have better black raspberry). I had a Happy Ending Sundae, made with cookies and cream and topped with marshmallow topping, peanut butter topping, and whipped cream and sprinkled with Reese's Pieces ( a throw back to my younger days eating Reese's Pieces sundaes when they first came out and had5 scoops).... This Friendly's location consistently delivers with their solid food/ice cream. Depending on how busy they are the wait can either be quick or a little while but service is always friendly. As expected, casual and kid friendly place. Crispy chicken wrap is my favorite and I ask for extra honey mustard for the fries. The waffle fries are worth the upgrade. We called ahead a week ago and said like 40 people were coming, but when we got there an hour wait. Would not go there again.

Went to the bathroom in this establishment was nasty. There was pee on both toilet bowl seats. I was scared to look at the rest.

Food was hot and fresh. And the ice cream was delicious. The staff was very friendly and the store is very clean

Our server was very accommodating to all our crazy kids. She went out of her way to make sure everyone was satisified

we used to love coming here. but I have family coming in from out of state and wanted to reserve the back room for 25 on an upcoming Monday at 12p. I was told.by the manager they dont have enough people as no one comes in on a Monday at that time and its only 1 server and the manager so they cant possibly accommodate. I said to clarify I shouldn't even bring people in to your restaurant at that time? we need to go elsewhere? thats correct, I was told by manager. had possibly the friendliest waitress of all time the other day, i've been coming here since i was a kid and the staff here is really above and beyond the standard for customer service. Just really nice people and it helps that the food is great too. they have disposable menus now and have gone to great lengths to comply with all the new regulations which i know are really difficult to navigate but they still managed to make my night. my only tip is if you're getting ice cream and it's not included in your meal go big!! a single scoop dish is 3.49 but a jim dandy (like 4 scoops +) is 7.99 read more

The restaurant was nice and our waitress was friendly. My quesadillas was tasty. On and my mint chocolate chip Sundae was everything.

Bad food. I ordered a BLT with fries and my wife had an appetizer combo with quesadilla, chicken tenders and onion rings. The chicken tenders were over done and the server was reluctant to take them back. She then found something unusual in the quesadilla (foreign object) and the fries on my plate were old. I have had good food there before but they should have ashamed to have plated that food. The manager (possibly owner) came out, I explained the problem with food. I'm finding it difficult to understand why it is your store policy to no longer write HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the ice cream cakes you offer for sale. I purchased an ice cream cake this morning at the Stony Brook location and requested that Happy Birthday be written on it. I was informed by their employee that it was their store policy to no longer offer this service. I asked why, and was told that many people like things written in SCRIPT. Went there late at night and waitress was lovely and ice cream hit the spot. They used to have toasted almonds to go one a sundae but now it is walnuts...it has been over 25 years since I had a sundae there and that was the only change I noticed. It was my grand daughters birthday and she chose Friendly's in Stony Brook...I hadn't been there in years..thought they were out of business...and I'm happy to report they are alive and very well. Four people chose the Cob Salad- which drew rave reviews, my two grand daughters had mac'n'cheese. I had a burger with a kind of giant melted cheese skirt..tasty. Everyone went for the included Friendly's sundaes... just as good as I remembered. The place was clean, the service was prompt & friendly. And the bill was less than expected. I come here for free 2*2*2 on Veterans Day. *Thanks Corporate Friendly's for recognizing Veterans *Over the past twenty years, I've taken my kids here for lunch after the movies *We always come here in the summer for an ice cream cone at the window *I've purchased many kids birthday cakes as well as the summer "wattamelon roll" *I'm a Patty Melt guy!
