    Eggs Benedict
    Nadia M.

Stopped in here for some brekky. It is surprisingly roomy inside and it looks like they've made the most out of the space. The food itself is decent, nothing out of this world, but my eggs Benedict were ok, and I liked the freshly squeezed OJ. The service however was not great. We arrived and were seated right away, our food came out at a good time, but we were left at the table unattended after we were clearly finished for 25 minutes. We could see our server walking around, attending other tables, but completely ignoring us. Not sure what happened or what was going on, but I was very ready to go when a completely different server came over and finally brought us the bill. Don't think I'd be back here anytime soon, wasted almost 30 minutes waiting to pay for our food so we could leave.

Have been here twice with this time. The steak was so savory and tender. Cooked to perfection. The cinnamon French toast was insanely delicious! Our server was great and very attentive. Definitely coming again when I'm by the area!

Really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant! Service is super friendly and attentive, there's lots of tables and parking, and the menu is huge (breakfast, brunch, pasta, pizza, sandwiches, salads, calzones, hamburgers, and more). Serving sizes and prices are decent as well. Got the chicken fried steak with eggs, hash browns, and English muffin. Everything tasted good and I loved how crispy the hashbrowns were. We also got a side of fries and they were well seasoned.

the boyfriend and i were struggling to figure out what we wanted to eat, whether something more breakfast-y or lunch, so we turned to google and friends cafe popped up! i'm always impressed but also a little skeptical of places with such a wide range of options because i wonder how they maintain quality when they're serving everything from breakfast specialties to pasta to quesadillas. luckily for us, friends cafe seems to have figured it out (for the most part). i ordered a cheese calzone with mushrooms and a baked ziti, fully expecting the calzone to be maybe the size of my hand... i was very wrong. i walked out with a whole calzone in a pizza box wondering if they gave me the wrong order. the calzone itself was really good, though there was definitely more dough than i expected. the cheese filling was delicious. i can't really speak on the baked ziti because i got so full from the calzone, it has now turned into my lunch for tomorrow. the boyfriend ordered the grilled cheese with bacon (no tomatoes), fries, and a side of mac and cheese. he said the grilled cheese was good, but probably better eaten fresh at the restaurant instead of to-go since it got cold pretty quickly. the fries were well seasoned, but the mac and cheese tasted more like a simple kraft box recipe and was a bit overcooked and mushy. for dessert, we got one of their hazelnut treats, which i did like! the texture was a little unexpected, not quite creamy but not fully crunchy either. we decided if we went back, we would go to sit down for a meal because the place had a very home-y feel to it, and the employees were very kind. overall, a really solid spot with huge portions and a lot of variety!

Still remember the days I first arrived in the States--what impressed me most were classic restaurants, friendly service, and generous portions. Friends Café instantly brought me back with its old-school vibes and thoughtful murals. Super family-friendly, with coloring activities, a kids' menu, fresh orange juice, unlimited coffee, and all-day breakfast classics done right. My favorite is the steak & eggs--an 8 oz steak with toast, fresh fruit, and eggs, all for under $20. They say you eat memories, and classics are classic for a reason. IG: socalhkfoodies

Had an amazing dinner at Friend's Cafe! The food was delicious, and they have an incredible pizza deal: a large pizza, 10 wings, and a 2-liter soda for just $25.99--perfect if you're hanging out with a group. We went with the pasta and quesadillas this time, and both were hits. Great ambiance, affordable prices, and a solid evening all around!

Chilaquiles, Mexicali Scramble, Bloody Mary, and Salsa. The waitress, Maria, was distracted, likely overwhelmed.

A nice local independent diner with a big menu. Breakfast served all day! We came at breakfast time and had breakfast. There are lots of choices from sweet to savory. Good solid food but not inspired. Hey, what do you want from a cafe? The service is a little slow but it's made up for by how nice the staff is. With places like this how can Denny's etal still be in business? Support your local independent businesses.

Omelet with delightful hash browns, perfectly crisp.

Everything, everything is great. Attentive, kind service and pleasant food. They seem especially keen on the older crowd. We had a huge omelet and liked the hash browns.

Finally today we got an opportunity to go with family who were visiting. Turned out to be a great place to hang out with friends and family. Indians love their tea and there is this entire spectrum of Chai shops in India from street vendors to little shops to cafes. Served with little cookies for dunking, savory snacks and little sweet pastries or cakes. I loved how they incorporated the essence of that culture and then gave it their own twist. Everything we had was ace. They have not cut corners with flavors and ingredients. Everything on their menu is worth experiencing. From the bun maska to the rose pistachio loaf to the samosas the flavors were awesome. Paired with ginger kissed masala tea or coffee made it a match made in heaven. We will now be visiting often to get our fix of chai. An experience that should not be missed. Highly recommend.

We also got 4 drinks. The iced drinks were very bland, so I would suggest getting the hot drinks instead. The desserts, however, were amazing! We loved the tres leches and the pistachio cheesecake. Honestly, I would come back mainly for the desserts. The one disappointing experience was the service. We drove all the way from LA specifically to try this place. We placed our order, left the suggested tip, and were then told by one of the staff members (she was the barista) to put our dishes away when we were done eating. I mean... really? What is the point of leaving a tip if customers are expected to clear and put away their own dishes, like at a fast-food restaurant? And just to be clear, we had actually already stacked our dishes, wiped down our table before she even mentioned it because we're not the type of customers who feel entitled to leave a mess behind. But being specifically told to put our dishes away (she showed the bucket tray where she placed at the middle of the shop) after leaving a suggested tip was disappointing. Overall, I really liked the ambience, and especially the desserts. I just wish the service experience matched the rest of the place.

So, if you want to get a tasty bakery item or a gelato, they have it. This is a really unassuming restaurant. Once inside, you find a very well organized and very well developed café. They have really nice two people booths along one wall. Plus, they have tables for larger groups sprinkled throughout the restaurant. It's really a great place to sit back and enjoy a drink, a meal, and a conversation with anybody you go in there with. In terms of food, they have a wide spanning menu. They have very good breakfast items from all of the expected things you would expect: quiches, eggs, and all of that kind of stuff. Plus, they have a really nice menu of salads, as well. They also have a number of other things thrown in there, a lot of paninis, a bunch of sandwiches, and a little bit of everything else. It's really hard not to find something that you'll really enjoy at this café. The staff here is all super nice. And, they're happy to help you out with anything that you may need The way this café works is that you walk inside, go up to the front counter, place your order, and you're set to go. You can do this a couple of ways: you can grab one of their physical menus and choose what you want or you can also scan the QR code at each table and then you can look at their menu via your phone. One way or the other, you could find something you like and order. Overall, this is a really great place to enjoy a drink or a meal in Orange. Not only is the food and the drink all really good, it's a very good atmosphere.

I'm certain my next visit will be fantastic - I'll be posting an update in the near future. Wow - So Disappointed! Rekindle was at the Taste of Orange this year and I enjoyed one of the Italian sandwich samples they were handing out. It was fantastic! We met the owner - she was very charismatic and charming. Today we stopped by to grab an Italian sandwich, and I just cannot believe they served me bread that was so old and dry - it would have been perfect for croutons, but definitely nothing like what we had at the Taste of Orange. The bread was so dry I had to dress it up with some olive relish to eat it - I don't expect when I pay $31 for a sandwich and chai iced tea latte to get home and have to start working on my sandwich. I accept some responsibility for this, because honestly, who goes to a coffee shop for a sandwich.

Months ago, one of my friends had made a visit and overheard an elderly woman making a negative comment about a Pride flag displayed by the register. Obviously other customers comments cant be or shouldn't be controlled by the company, but we were extremely disappointed to find out that since that comment was made, the Pride flag has been taken down. I had ran in to grab a drip before work one morning and noticed that some of the baristas also no longer had their Pride flag pins on. This clearly has details I am unaware of but it seems obvious that corporate had those images removed. This makes me and my friends feel very uncomfortable with how this situation was treated. I wouldn't recommend any of my friends to support this kind of activity. One very simple solution for you: Bring back the flag and you'll bring back our buisness! If you're worried about more complaints from individuals like the elderly woman, maybe fly an American flag as well I simply want people to feel safe and accepted.

We started with the bruschetta, which was fresh and flavorful, though the garlic was a little strong for my personal taste. The crispy potatoes with rosemary and breadcrumbs were a standout and an absolute must-try. The bucatini carbonara was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. Pro tip: add a little chili flake for an extra layer of flavor and a nice kick. The Neapolitan-style pizza was excellent, with a beautifully charred crust and quality ingredients. We finished with the tiramisu, which was light, creamy, and packed with espresso flavor. My only suggestion would be a few more ladyfinger layers for a bit more texture. I also love that they offer gelato, bakery items, and a coffee bar for those looking to grab something on the go. One of my favorite touches was seeing day-old pastries sold in bundles. As a pastry chef, I always appreciate businesses that make an effort to reduce food waste while still offering great products. Overall, great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and friendly service. I'll definitely be back and am already looking forward to trying the affogato next time. Highly recommend if you're visiting Old Towne Orange.

Went to an event nearby and we were hungry for some brunch. My bf and I found this place on a whim…read moreand were pleasantly surprised with the many selections to choose from the menu. Of course I wanted to try two items and the lovely lady at the front told me about the 1/2 panini 1/2 soup/salad option! I had 1/2 of the Pesto, Egg, & Turkey Panini with 1/2 of serving of the Chinese Chicken Salad. My bf got a full Pesto, egg, turkey panini with a Kuppa Joe coffee. I guess we are simple couple but we swear this was the best panini we've had! The salad was fresh and the serving was more than enough that my bf was very happy to help me finish it up. Definitely worth every penny even if they were very wallet friendly. The ambiance was also lovely. Not to judge the area, but from a strip mall location I didn't expect for this place to utilize their space this well and make it so clean and restaurant-like. Very great experience and definitely coming back next time I'm in the area for breakfast or lunch !

I can't speak about their food because I didn't get any but it looks like they have a good array of options. I got an iced vanilla caffe latte. I will say like it was good but it was a little sweeter than I expected and definitely a strong coffee. Which is not bad, but I think maybe I should have stated my preference! The person who took my order was very friendly and prompt. She made my drink quickly too. The area itself is nice. Really great seating and it feels very open. And I liked the music they were playing. I will say for some reason when I was there like around 3:30 PM they opened the doors of the cafe and started cleaning and such. It almost felt like they were closing but I knew they closed later than that so I wasn't sure. Anyway, I still think this is a nice cafe in Orange right across from CHOC if you're waiting for someone.
