    Eggs Benedict

Stopped in here for some brekky. It is surprisingly roomy inside and it looks like they've made the most out of the space. The food itself is decent, nothing out of this world, but my eggs Benedict were ok, and I liked the freshly squeezed OJ. The service however was not great. We arrived and were seated right away, our food came out at a good time, but we were left at the table unattended after we were clearly finished for 25 minutes. We could see our server walking around, attending other tables, but completely ignoring us. Not sure what happened or what was going on, but I was very ready to go when a completely different server came over and finally brought us the bill. Don't think I'd be back here anytime soon, wasted almost 30 minutes waiting to pay for our food so we could leave.

Have been here twice with this time. The steak was so savory and tender. Cooked to perfection. The cinnamon French toast was insanely delicious! Our server was great and very attentive. Definitely coming again when I'm by the area!

Really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant! Service is super friendly and attentive, there's lots of tables and parking, and the menu is huge (breakfast, brunch, pasta, pizza, sandwiches, salads, calzones, hamburgers, and more). Serving sizes and prices are decent as well. Got the chicken fried steak with eggs, hash browns, and English muffin. Everything tasted good and I loved how crispy the hashbrowns were. We also got a side of fries and they were well seasoned.

the boyfriend and i were struggling to figure out what we wanted to eat, whether something more breakfast-y or lunch, so we turned to google and friends cafe popped up! i'm always impressed but also a little skeptical of places with such a wide range of options because i wonder how they maintain quality when they're serving everything from breakfast specialties to pasta to quesadillas. luckily for us, friends cafe seems to have figured it out (for the most part). i ordered a cheese calzone with mushrooms and a baked ziti, fully expecting the calzone to be maybe the size of my hand... i was very wrong. i walked out with a whole calzone in a pizza box wondering if they gave me the wrong order. the calzone itself was really good, though there was definitely more dough than i expected. the cheese filling was delicious. i can't really speak on the baked ziti because i got so full from the calzone, it has now turned into my lunch for tomorrow. the boyfriend ordered the grilled cheese with bacon (no tomatoes), fries, and a side of mac and cheese. he said the grilled cheese was good, but probably better eaten fresh at the restaurant instead of to-go since it got cold pretty quickly. the fries were well seasoned, but the mac and cheese tasted more like a simple kraft box recipe and was a bit overcooked and mushy. for dessert, we got one of their hazelnut treats, which i did like! the texture was a little unexpected, not quite creamy but not fully crunchy either. we decided if we went back, we would go to sit down for a meal because the place had a very home-y feel to it, and the employees were very kind. overall, a really solid spot with huge portions and a lot of variety!

Still remember the days I first arrived in the States--what impressed me most were classic restaurants, friendly service, and generous portions. Friends Café instantly brought me back with its old-school vibes and thoughtful murals. Super family-friendly, with coloring activities, a kids' menu, fresh orange juice, unlimited coffee, and all-day breakfast classics done right. My favorite is the steak & eggs--an 8 oz steak with toast, fresh fruit, and eggs, all for under $20. They say you eat memories, and classics are classic for a reason. IG: socalhkfoodies

Had an amazing dinner at Friend's Cafe! The food was delicious, and they have an incredible pizza deal: a large pizza, 10 wings, and a 2-liter soda for just $25.99--perfect if you're hanging out with a group. We went with the pasta and quesadillas this time, and both were hits. Great ambiance, affordable prices, and a solid evening all around!

Chilaquiles, Mexicali Scramble, Bloody Mary, and Salsa. The waitress, Maria, was distracted, likely overwhelmed.

Cooked any way yCooked any way you like them with homemade hash browns, quinoa or fresh fruit and toast or English muffin with homemade preserves. Two XL AA eggs, I asked a substitute and instead one pancake, which they did.

A nice local independent diner with a big menu. Breakfast served all day! We came at breakfast time and had breakfast. There are lots of choices from sweet to savory. Good solid food but not inspired. Hey, what do you want from a cafe? The service is a little slow but it's made up for by how nice the staff is. With places like this how can Denny's etal still be in business? Support your local independent businesses.

Omelet with delightful hash browns, perfectly crisp.

Everything, everything is great. Attentive, kind service and pleasant food. They seem especially keen on the older crowd. We had a huge omelet and liked the hash browns.

Once we arrived, we realized how intimate and limited the seating was (so makes sense you need to book in advance). This is a great space for date night or a small group. I wouldn't try to come to this location with a large party. I loved the small and intimate dining experience! We got about half the menu and I'd absolutely get everything again. Some of our favorites were the bread + ham butter (a must), the burrata (another must), the mushrooms (I could eat these all day), and the octopus (insane). You can tell every dish has a recipe that has been specially curated for this restaurant, with so many unique flavors and combinations, that you just have to come check it out for yourself. I believe our server's name was Sam, and he was so wonderful! He even brought out their delicious basque cheesecake for the birthday we were celebrating! Just overall a very thoughtful, intimate, delicious restaurant that has easily become a top option for us! Highly recommend!

We tried: Galician octopus - amazing and must try! Steak tartare- also delicious and must try! Gambas al ajillo - shrimp were large and tasty Pollo en bravas - small leg and thigh with a lot of flavor Tinned razor clam- it came in a cane so it tasted different. I misread and thought it was fresh seafood. Basque cheesecake - my favorite! Must try! Parking can be challenging as there is a small parking lot in the back with about 7 spaces or so. Probably best to get there early. Customer service was excellent!

Santa Ana Brunch Club,…read more Took the wife here on our off Friday. We arrived near noon time and the restaurant still was full, we had to wait hmm 10 or 15 minutes, which is not bad at all, shoot beats 45+ minutes I can easily see them pull on the early morning and weekends. There is a parking lot just past the restaurant, its a little sketchy and can be tight depending what cars are already there. There is a decent amount of seating, but the first thing I noticed when we first walked in was the two Yama glass cold brew towers, I already knew they were going to have banging Kyoto style coffee, that was already a win for me lol. The staff here were super nice and also very great at recommending a dish by what's popular but also asking what mood you were in. So the wife and I went with the two popular dishes. City Plate - Wife went with this dish French scrambled eggs, on the menu it does say Pork Belly, but unfortunately they ran out so she went with bacon. Hokkaido milk bread French toast, seasonal jam and berries. First off most places that know how to cook bacon, just nice and crispy, you know whomever is cooking, is cooking. Perfectly crisp bacon and good quality and taste, made me forget about the pork belly! The Hokkaido milk bread French toast, topped with like a blueberry jam, was beyond delicious. Honestly one of the best french toast both my wife and myself ever had. I do agree the portions are a little small, but if this was the dish I ordered, sorry wife, all mine!! jk love u! Bubbies Fried Chicken & Sourdough Pancake's: This is the dish I went with, Fried chicken thighs, mini sourdough pancakes, 2 over medium eggs finished with a hot honey butter drizzle. The sourdough pancakes, were good but nothing to crazy about them, if there is an option to sub the pancakes for the French toast, I would have easily done that! Egg was cooked perfectly to how I ordered them, but the best part of this dish. That fried chicken thighs, easily the best fried chicken I have had as of then and today so far. The crunchy skin was the right amount, the chicken was moist just from the look of it, but once bitten into, oh man it was explosions of flavors. Oh man put this on top of like a jalapeno waffle get the perfect bite with chicken, egg, the waffle and some syrup....gasm! As mentioned above the serving portion isnt too big, least for a guy size, guess it worked out since I finished whatever my wife could on her plate. Coffee: It make sense why their portions are too big, gotta make sure you save room for that coffee. Sadly the day we went, they ran out of Horchata, so the wife and I both got the vanilla rum kyoto iced latte. As expected it was delicious, the vanilla and rum complemented each other perfectly, not too sweet and not too smoky/bitter, I knew the cold brew would be clean and smooth, a perfect way to end brunch with this amazing cup of cold brew. I may have finished my cup before even leaving the parking lot. In conclusion, Santa Ana Brunch Club its going to be hard to come back here and try other things when I can just have a plate of favorites with that french toast, bacon and fried chicken and was it all down with Kyoto coffee. I can see why people are willing to wait long times for the food here. Again the food is amazing along with the workers! Feast Well Fellow Yelpers! Kaizokuō Ni Ore Wa Naru!

Their salmon bagel is super good too. I'm not a fan of caper but you can just ask them to not include it or just take them off yourself. If you look at my picture, under the salmon, there is a big slice of tomato that adds on to the flavor. Its so thick that I cant get a mouthful with all the flavors in one bite. After I tried the salmon bagel here, it's really hard for me to be satisfied with a salmon bagel anywhere else. They also have 2 soups of the day that they post on their Instagram. My favorite is their chicken Chipotle soup. Again, I love it so much I tried to make it at home so I can eat it if I'm craving it on a day that its not the soup of the day. You can tell their soups are made fresh because it always varies a little each time. Their cookies and brownies are delicious too. Their brownies are THICK. The only thing I would skip here is their coffee. Their menu sounds interesting and intriguing but they were just okay. For coffee, I would go to other coffee shops down the street. The vibe inside is a cute brunch spot and they have some patio seating as well. The patio seating is nice because the street in front is a one way street and isnt busy. There is limited street parking in front, but there is a parking garage around the corner.

I even drove from Westminster because I was looking forward to enjoying one of their sandwiches that I hadn't had in a long time. I also ordered an oatmeal raisin cookie, which unfortunately tasted unusually salty. I called to share my feedback about the cookie, and the response I received from Frank was dismissive and unhelpful. He stated that he tastes the cookies every morning and insisted there was nothing wrong with them. There was no offer to replace the item or further address my concern, and the conversation ended abruptly with a brief "have a good day." Overall, I was disappointed by the lack of attentiveness and willingness to engage with a customer concern over what was simply one menu item.
