Omg! The French toast was amazing, Angela was super sweet, I came right before breakfast ends (which is at 2 pm btw) they still served me no problem. Also food came our super quick and Angela let me pick where I wanted to sit. It's a shame this place is so far from my house but I will for sure be back !!! read more

I called in advance to make a reservation and they prevented me from doing so because they said "it wouldn't be busy" as soon as I came in 4 other large parties also walked towards the desk. The large groups were out of their control but they should have allowed me to make a reservation prior so I could have avoided the crowd AS I HAD ALREADY MADE AN EFFORT TO RESERVE MY SPOT. Ok so this is my new favorite place for breakfast. Went here with my sister because Denny's was a 20 minute wait. Found this place on yelp and boy am I glad I did. Our waitress Blanca was so nice and friendly. We never had to ask for coffee because she or the other girl (sorry didn't get her name) would come and fill our mugs with fresh hot coffee often. I had the chilaquiles verdes with avocado instead of egg and I have to say, apart from my mom's, they were the best I've ever had. My sister had pancakes and she said she loved them. Gonna have to go back and try it for lunch and dinner. I highly recommend this place to everyone who loves great service and hot delicious food. read more

I can't leave a review about the food because I never got any service. I waited about 10-15 minutes, no coffee or water offered, then I asked the waitress at the table next to me If she would take my order and she mumbled something and left. I gave it another 5 minutes, still no luck. The place is in an old, dirty pizza place. It's loud and you can smell the kitchen (not in a good way). Mimi's is close and since the prices are about the same, you'd be better off at mimi's, at least it's clean and has some ambience. read more

Our second time here. Had breakfast a few weeks ago, and it was decent, nothing spectacular. Tonight, we were looking for a place for dinner, and decided to try Friends for dinner. What a mistake..... they were running an awesome dinner special (2 for $27), so my husband and I each ordered the Ribeye, which comes with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The veggies and potatoes both tasted like water, no seasoning, overcooked. Really bland. And this is the only restaurant I have ever seen that doesn't put gravy on their plain mashed potatoes. I can understand no gravy if its garlic mashed, or something like that. The steak was cooked nicely, but a little tough. This special came with an appetizer, we ordered chicken tenders. AWFUL doesn't even begin to describe them. Definitely a low-end frozen product, and I doubt they were even real chicken. The clam chowder was watery, and had a slightly sour taste, but it was actually pretty good. Our server, unfortunately, was TERRIBLE. No personality, no smile, didn't act like she enjoyed her job at all. Never cleared salad/soup dishes, slow on drink refills. When she brought the check, I had the credit card out already, but she handed the check to my husband....DUH! The other server seemed to have a great personality, and was interacting with customers in a very personable manner! I wish we had her! I don't think we will be back. Friends Cafe has a spacious feel and is very clean. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. She frequently came to the table to make sure we had everything that we wanted and to refill beverages. My friend and I each had an omelette with fruit and toast. The breakfast was served exactly as we ordered it and was delicious! Came here on Friday with my family. I had a Greek salad and the boys shared a burger and fries. Everything looked so fresh and tasty. My lettuce was so yummy and crunchy. Went for breakfast over Labor Day weekend. It was a pretty warm day but the place was very hot. I was with a party of five, everyone said the food was just ok, nothing special. We waited quite awhile for our order even though the crowd had thinned out. My eggs were lukewarm. The waitress was very nice and apologized for the heat. I cant believe I am actually saying this but the pancakes are way too big! when we could not finish them and didn't take them home the waitress tried to make us feel guilty for not taking them home, we had to explain that we weren't going home and we would be running errands so pancakes wouldn't keep in the car. would be nice if they had coke instead of pepsi but that is just my preference. Came here for breakfast on 7/3 and I am so relieved to have another option for breakfast in Tustin. I'm sick and tired of the ridiculous wait time at some of the other more popular places in town.. We each had a scramble and both were delicious! Everything tastes fresh and very homemade. The Pico de Gallo was so fresh tasting. I had to try a pancake which you could tell was made from scratch.... it was incredibly light and fluffy! The orange juice was also fresh squeezed. I live near by and used to go to the Lamppost Pizza that was previous at this location, so I'll admit I was going in with them having something to prove. My wife and I were greeted right away. My first thought was how much light there was in the place, you can tell they did a lot of work on the inside to make it their own. Our server was extremely polite and helpful. I had the french toast breakfast and my wife had the Mediterranean omelet. The food was great everything was cooked perfectly and the portions were just right. I wanted to get the OJ but they were out which I could understand as it's fresh squeezed and it was about noon. This is gonna be our new go to breakfast spot.
