    Egg and cheese sandwich
    Ulyana K.

Unfortunately had a pretty mediocre experience with this spot. Ordered a very simple item to see whats up with the place: egg and cheese sandwich with cheddar on a croissant. I like that you have a high degree of customization for a lot of the sandwiches. However, the quality of the item itself was quite disappointing. It was so incredibly greasy. Like, you could feel the grease seeped into the croissant and it sticks to your fingers. The croissant itself seemed to be reasonable quality but it was just drenched (genuinely wet from oil). Egg was okay but very bland. So was the cheese. Just tasted of oil.

Absolutely love this breakfast-lunch little gem that is positioned in a nice quiet neighborhood off the main street of Bloomfield. The coffee is perfect and the veggie omelet looked and tasted better than expected. We I'll be back

Welcome to the Friendship Perk & Brew! The best neighborhood coffee shop, restaurant and pre-covid community enter in Friendship, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Diane, the restaurant mgr. greeted me warmly at 8 am on a chilly Nov. morning. She must've thought, "who is this jaggoff?", as I walked in wearing my fuzzy corgi onesie (w/ matching corgi backpack) and my signature Hopper grin :o3 I bellied up to the counter, received a menu and we started chatting. Diane smiled at me and immediately asked me if I was a cook (I do agree that I have that vibe about me...). "I run a tight ship, but we take care of our cooks real good. I trust them and don't go back there to check on em'", Diane said in a kind, but surly manner. I could tell she had kids and probably grandkids, in the best way. They're also still looking for an additional cook so if any of this sounds good to you, come join the family! After the classic small talk, we started to get into the real topics at hand. I mentioned that I've been in recovery and just moved next door and was so gratefúl to have this place next door. Diane mentioned the owner, Nick Redondo, lost his son to an overdose the day after Thanksgiving in 2020 and pointed to the wall behind me. I turned around and saw the gallery wall of Nick's family photos, including his eldest, Nick Jr. Redondo, who we lost after his battle with drug addiction. His son was gorgeous, looking straight out of a vogue cover; classically handsome and fit, with a smoldering gaze. Diane mentioned Nick Sr., runs an outreach program regarding substance misuse and addiction called the "Fentanyl Fathers" and that he would be coming in with the morning pastries any time now. I knew this is where I was meant to be, I was home. Just as I finished that thought, Nick cruised in the back door with an absurdly large box of pastries in hand (Patty Cakes!!!) muttering about something that needed fixing. Diane and Nick shared quips about their mornings, the latest building news and how the batteries in the the milk frother just went out. I smiled as I eavesdropped, I could tell Nick and Diane were long-term friends. My breakfast burrito arrived, as Nick and Diane continued to exchange suggestions regarding fixing a pipe, but I tuned them out at this point, gazing at the perfectly crisp, browned potatoes and spectacular cross-section of this breakfast burrito specimen. I ordered a dirty chai latte, which was served in a mug, and a breakfast burrito with extra crispy bacon (obvi). Full disclosure, I'm somewhat of a breakfast burrito snop being from LA but let me tell you, it was perfect. The tortilla was grilled on both sides Each bite had the perfect egg, bacon, guac, pico and cheese ratio. The combination of the dirty chai and hearty burrito was like a little slice of heaven on this cold, dreary day.

What a lovely neighborhood find. We went in for coffee and came out with coffee, sandwiches and great stories by the owner. It is so quaint in there. The food was really good as well. I would recommend ordering and just sitting and enjoying the atmosphere. We ordered take-out, because of our timing, but next time, we'll definitely sit and relax a bit more.

Dark roast (Dark Velvet) with biscotti.

4.5 Impromptu stop this past Sunday morning (9:15am). They were not open long, but ready to get our day started properly. FINALLY a place that serves up a dark roast option (Dark Velvet?). It was a nice cup of Joe. We weren't asked for a top off, but they have different sizes, so order the large if you require 20+ oz. You grab menus, find a seat and order at the counter when ready. Not a massive menu which I prefer. I ordered the Greek omelet and it was very good. Potatoes are basically chopped fries. Not my favorite as some of them got quite hard. Texas style toast your only option and served with butter packets. The bread was fantastic. No complaints. The food runner cleared our plates quickly. Love that. The place was starting to get busy but not insane. Instant fan and would return over and over if I'm in the area.

    California Club
    Camille N.

Wasn't expecting much when I ordered the California Club but when it was served my jaw dropped! It was a huge portion - three layers of bread, but didn't feel too heavy or dry at all! It was probably one of the best club sandwiches I've ever had. The fries were also nicely seasoned with a slight kick to it. Someone who seemed like the owner came to chat with us and he was super friendly and made the dining experience just that much better. Definitely would come back again!

    Breakfast bowl with chorizo
    Mike M.

Very nice staff. Warm vibe in the dining area. Counter service prior to sit down dining. Ordered the breakfast bowl which included scrambled eggs, home fries, cheese, 2 pancakes, and choice of meat (chorizo). Everything was cooked awesomely, especially the potatoes and eggs. Struggled a bit with the plating as it was served in a deep bowl with pancakes at bottom. Hard to add ketchup or hot sauce to the eggs or potatoes as it was going to hit the pancakes. And hard to cut the pancakes with fork due to the deep bowl. Other minor gripe is feeling like it's a wildcard going to order as the prices aren't displayed on the website and the price upon ordering was $3 more than the menu display provided. When prices aren't on the site, it feels a little suspect.

When we pulled up to the hotel, we parked in an area that the front desk later confirmed was not valet parking and that we were fully permitted to use. Despite this, a man wearing a plain black shirt with no name tag, hotel logo, or other identification immediately approached us and aggressively demanded, "You need to give me your keys now." He never introduced himself, never identified himself as a hotel employee or valet attendant, and never welcomed us to the hotel. Instead, he immediately became confrontational. When I explained that I was not comfortable handing my vehicle keys to an unidentified stranger, he escalated the situation by repeatedly yelling, "Bro, bro, you're not going to disrespect me." We attempted to walk away and continue with check-in, but the harassment did not stop. After checking in, we returned outside to unload our luggage, and he immediately confronted us again. This time, he threatened that if I did not hand over my keys, "there would be consequences." No guest should ever be threatened simply for asking reasonable questions or wanting to verify the identity of someone requesting possession of their vehicle. The front desk staff later confirmed that we had parked in the correct location and acknowledged that this employee's behavior was inappropriate. While I appreciated their honesty, that did not change what had already occurred or the fact that the individual continued to work the front entrance. Unfortunately, the situation only worsened throughout the remainder of our stay. Every time we entered or exited the hotel, this valet employee continued making comments about my group to his coworkers. He would smirk, laugh, and make remarks within earshot of us, often in front of the front desk staff. Rather than feeling welcomed as paying guests, we felt uncomfortable and uneasy every time we walked through the lobby. The hostility that began upon our arrival never truly ended. As an IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite member who spends more than 200 nights each year almost exclusively at IHG properties, I have always chosen IHG because of the professionalism, hospitality, and consistency I have experienced across its brands. Unfortunately, this stay was unlike anything I have ever encountered. In all my years of traveling, I have never felt so disrespected, singled out, isolated, or unwelcome at a hotel. IHG promotes its hotels as places where every guest should feel safe, respected, and valued. That was not my experience at this property. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, I felt that our concerns were dismissed, and the behavior of this employee created an environment where we no longer felt comfortable. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. It has caused me to seriously reconsider my loyalty to IHG after spending hundreds of nights each year with the brand. I hope hotel management and IHG Corporate conduct a thorough investigation into this incident, address the conduct of the employee involved, and ensure that no future guest has to experience the same treatment we did.
