Damn ... why such a low aggregate score for this place? I'm reading a lot of these negative reviews and it seems like there are some common, reoccurring themes I'm noticing: 1. Ppl who purchased multiple races and having to wait upwards of 1.5+ hrs in between races (but being passed up if others tipped the operators??) 2. Mechanically broken karts 3. Bad flag waver / intentional slow down of karts 4. Bad customer service My brother, dad and I were in town for a weekend for a cowboys vs ravens game (dad is a diehard fan). On the monday, which was our last day in town, we had a chunk of time after lunch to do something before catching our flight. We decided to hit this place up as it was near our hotel. Maybe because it was a workday and we were the only customers (there was 1 other family there) but we didn't experience many of the negative things I listed above so our experience was VASTLY different than what other customers are reporting. It seemed like all karts were operational, there was no flag waver for our races and we did NOT have to wait at all in between races. I DO think they did turn up the kart speeds at the halfway lap mark and also dialed them back down near the end but I'm just going off of personal feel. We experienced very good customer service! The lady (manager I'm assuming) that helped us at the front desk was quite pleasant and the two gentlemen manning the track for the day were nice too. We did 3 races and I managed to place 1st in one of them (the dad from the other family was an absolute beast). I noticed that this K1 Speed is a lil different from the one back home in the racing format. Here it was personal time trial. Each person was trying to see who could have the fastest personal lap and at the end the best personal lap times were ranked. While this was an interesting format, I prefer the traditional placement format more, where your final rank is based on who finished the race first, physically. I'm wondering if this could be changed/adjusted if you spoke to the staff or if it's an unchangeable, default racing format? Anyways, had a lot of fun. It's definitely pricey as some have pointed out (because of the baked in membership fee), but I guess coming on a workday was a good idea as opposed to a weekend day? What a truly long wait to finally race for just a few mins. I brought my oldest boy to get it on! Time to prove out the old man still has got it. But when we signed up they said it would just be a slight wait... over an hour and a half later we finally got called up. If you have never been to a K1 course before you need to know it is all about speed... these carts can fly! But coming in first does not mean a thing... it is fastest lap and overall course speed. The corse is a wicked inside track with hair pin turns and thin lines.. it is an adrenaline rush! We got set and then seriously ate this course up! My son and I were bumping and scraping the whole way but in the end ... he beat me. Yep race one... he beat me. However in race two I crushed him. What a great time! We had a blast!! My sone is a heck of a racer... I loved getting beat by him... and liked breaking even. So much fun! read more

Let me start by saying we've had great experiences at K-1 locations all over the country. Here, the wait for the first race was over an hour, and there were only eight cars in the parking lot. The cars do not go very fast compared to other locations. The cars kept breaking down and management kept having to stop the race and go out onto the track, but then the racers did not get their laps back. In fact, several times the workers were screaming at the racers for an awkwardly long amount of time. This was my son's birthday party and it was an absolutely awful experience. AND it was blazing hot inside. Do not waste your time at this location. read more

Stay away from the junior league! The kids karts are not even close to even and they change the rules whenever they feel like it, even in the same night. I had my son in the league for the year. I'll start with the kart problems: the karts have so much variation in performance that some are 3 seconds a lap slower on a 22 second baseline pace so there's no chance. This is consistent from month to month in each kart. Whichever child has the fastest kart generally wins once they are even slightly competent. It's hard to have to explain to a 9 year old month after month that just because they had bad luck in their luck from the karts they can't win. A child will run a 22.5 in qualifying then in the race 25+ to get passed by everyone since there's too much of a speed differential to defend. The rules are a different story. In the beginning of the year they let us disqualify the fastest and slowest karts so it would be even. Then they had a staff change and stopped doing it. The guys running the league now are horrible and don't care. My son has the track record and was in the lead in the standings all year. In September he was given a kart during the race (there's a qualifier for starting position then a final race for points) that was so slow he was passed by everyone and finished second to last losing his position in the standings. They wouldn't let him change the kart before or during the race because it was against the rules. The only time you're now allowed is before the final if you had the same kart during qualifying. In the December race the other boy in contention had the same thing happen to him but even though they had said before the race you could only disqualify a kart that you had in qualifying they still let him change it out to one of the fastest karts during the race allowing him to regain positions on the slower drivers. This was the only time the entire year a child was allowed to change karts for pace. I went to them during the race to point out how unfair that was but they wouldn't do anything about it. My son won that race but they were tied in the standings so they made the other boy the champion. I had to explain to my 9 year old that he didn't win the championship because the other boy got special treatment. We're done with the league. Do not go to the league unless you're ready to teach your child about unfairness and disappointment. read more

Overall, I had a good time here, but there is a major room for improvement. First, this location is very understaffed. They had no one to run the food area, so to buy drinks, we had to go get the person running check-in. Second, employees don't seem to have a good understanding of safety here. For her first race, my partner was given a helmet that was simply too large. During my first race, they put a large number of inexperienced racers on the track, which resulted in my being rammed so fast and so often that I felt severely nauseous, and my partner's car being hit so hard in the back that her visor fell off and she received a minor concussion. Despite the posted rules indicating that ramming is not acceptable behavior, the staff never gave any safety warnings. The karts themselves are in poor repair and handle very differently from each other due to their condition. Still, they go plenty fast and the course was quite fun. Fortunately, a friend we were with asked that our group of four race separately. That ended up saving the day, and I left having had a good time overall. read more

This place is extra run down. Go Karts are constantly breaking down, the arcade is not maintained and all the machines look like they have seen better days. We brought a family member who was visiting from another state. Nobody seems to care about what's going on, and most of the employees stand around and do nothing, meanwhile you can smell burning pizza. There's also no tv or screen to show the wait time or your place in line. After being here over 3 hours and only getting to race once, this is definitely not a place I will be coming back to. At $25 per race, this place ain't it. They also allow employees to race with you and of course they get the fastest karts and get to go at the front so the kids and families aren't in their way. Total scam. If you value your money or time, avoid this place. There are much better and better taken care of Karting places in the metroplex. Not sure if he's a previous employee who's friends with he current employees or what, but several people like "Pepsi Pat" seemed to have no wait time, while my group of 4 had to wait almost 2 hours between races. Before y'all come on here and apologize for my bad experience and what not, try making some ACTUAL changes to your business before you try and say it was a one off experience or it was a rough day, because that isn't true. My son and I attempted to race at this K1 race location in Arlington this last weekend. It was a terrible experience and one that I wouldn't want anyone to experience. We arrived at the posted times they were supposed to open to find they had already opened. We got in line and spent the better 30 minutes waiting for the general manager to slowly check in people ahead of us. When another employee finally came and checked us in and explained we would have to wait another couple of hours before we could race. Ok, my son really wanted to race, so we found a spot to sit and wait, and we had to keep asking if it was our turn yet because there was no system to let people know when they are racing. What bothered me was that my son's cart stopped dead on the track two laps into our race. I was behind him, and when I lapped him, I yelled and pointed him out on the track, and the kid working ignored me. I lapped my son repeatedly to point and yell, and still, we were ignored. The third time I lapped my son and pointed and yelled; other parents also told and yelled. I am coming up on the 4th time to lap my son, and I pull up behind him and wave my arms and scream and yell, and the kid working the track finally pays attention and runs over to help him. During that race also, K1 speed allowed some "wanna-be" racer who had their own helmet and race gloves, and kit to race in our group. I write "wanna-be" because he told everyone around him that he was ranked 20th in the country at K1 speed. Regardless of his ranking or status, he ping-ponged off the walls, myself, and my son's car while my son was stalled. After the race, I spoke with the kid working the track to be told, "Oh, I am sorry I didn't see your son." If K1 is genuinely concerned about safety, it seems this is precisely the wrong attitude or work ethic on the track. When I asked to speak to his manager, he told me he was in the kitchen cooking and could not be bothered to come and talk to me. When I told him I would be calling corporate or he could get his manager, he finally radioed, and the general manager came out. I began to explain how my son was stalled for four laps when the GM interrupted me to say well, your son must have stalled the car. I then tried to speak with the GM and explain ok, even if he stalled the car being lapped multiple times and the kid saying he didn't see him was a safety issue. The GM continued to interrupt and insisted that my son was at fault and should have done something different. At that point, I told the manager that I would like to speak with the regional person or someone at corporate. He wouldn't respond beyond offering a refund on the race but quickly said it could be several hours before we could race again. I then explained my concern about the "wanna-be" racer and the safety concerns that he caused; he looked over his shoulder and said, "yeah, I recognize him, he is a huge problem for us." Ok, you know this guy is a problem, but you continue to let him come and race; that shows you what the GM cares about at his store. read more

My grand daughter was not allowed to ride today because she was not able to fit properly in the car. she is 2 inches taller than the minimum required. This was not my issue. A few months ago she was allowed to purchase her license and ride with no question at all. They first told us today that they had no record of her license and she was just too small for the carts. With further looking, they found her license. Fine. Safety first. However, we drove 45 minutes across town just for K1. Be consistent. At $2.50 per lap, that's just bad business. IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT GOING HERE TURN AROUND. Rockwood Go-carts and Mini golf is 10x better and cheaper. If zero stars was an option I would pick it. We arrived at 4pm 12/26/2023. Waited half an hour for our first race and then got skipped by 2 groups one of which tipped a staff member and got to go back to back ahead of us (a group of 5). We waited for around 3 hours while these two groups cut us. It took us 30ish minutes to get refunds. The manager of the night, the only one capable of refunding our money claimed she did not work there and got upset and walked off after we suggested that we get refunds. Another staff member, Randy had to get her keycard to access the register for our refunds. All staff members that night were little to no help and hostile towards us. Managers should be ashamed of how poorly ran this establishment is. I really had to wait 2 hours after my first race to go again. What a waste of time, I do not recommend coming here. Heres our experience . I tried to make a reservation but the call center lady spoke very poor English, so we were unable to communicate and we got frustrated and decided to just show up . We showed up with seven kids and they told us it was 2 1/2 hours. We were unable to call the location in Richardson because their phones go to a call center. If we would've known maybe 2 1/2 hours we would've never planned a birthday party around it. We decided to wait the 2 1/2 hours and then after a long wait asked when we were going to race he told us we were next. After 20 minutes, I went back to the guy who sends the carts out and asked how long it would be and he said he didn't have our name on the list. After begging they finally put our name on the list and got us unfortunately one of the kids had to leave because we ran out of time. after telling us they would race twice in a row they took them off the track and now we're waiting for two more groups to go. Been on a kick with go karting recently and was very disappointed here. With only two groups in the whole building, they had us wait until they were ready, fine. But I must have gotten a completely faulty car because there was no such thing as acceleration. Think I only made it through 6 laps out of 12 because everyone was flying past me-including my boyfriend!-while my pedal is to the metal and I'm basically going on a nice Sunday stroll. Extremely frustrating to spend 70$ to be fucked over by some mechanical issues/ etc. (I'm no mechanic). Took me 5 extra minutes after everyone else to get to the parking lane. This place surprised me. As a kid I used to love going to this place. But now that I got into Karting, I realize that this place is outrageously bad. First off the service is not good; you have to check in to race even though the website says arrive and drive. On top of waiting thirty minutes to get to the desk and pay for our races, there was a three hour wait (which was communicated to us so props for that). I race with my own helmet and go pro and every employee failed to say something about their no go pro policy except for their manager (while I was in my kart going onto the track). The whole "no go pro" policy is hilarious too because they rent these Velcro attached cameras for like seven bucks a race at the front desk. Lastly if you know anything about racing, you'll know that this track is easy. It's short and the only slightly more difficult part is the double hairpin at the end. Long story short: if you are into go karting or racing, do not go here. They brand their company as a place to practice Motorsports, when in reality it's a place for children and dumb adults to spend way too much money for 20 minutes of slow karts and 13 year old nascar fans dive bombing you on every corner of the track read more

Even with a full line of people waiting to get in they just stood around for another 45 min after opening to begin calling names. Customer service here is none existent. Not to mention, dirty! For 60 bucks for 3 races that last maybe 4mins max really threw me but i was bored and just wanted to enjoy something different. Will i come again.. Sure if my kids want 2 come. My boyfriend and I went here a few days ago to celebrate my last few days in Arlington. I went in knowing it would be a little pricey but I've always wanted to go so I decided to have one last splurge before going back to San Antonio. We both paid for 3 races, about $60 each in total. The $60 included a membership (which I wasn't expecting to pay for) a head sock, and 3 races. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They knew this was my first time so they did an amazing job explaining what everything was and how it worked. I was a little nervous but luckily my boyfriend used to be a carter so he was able to give me some helpful tips. The first race was scary for me, only because I wasn't aware of the power of the go carts. Overall, it went pretty well even though I did get last place. There were a lot of people in my race and they all were a lot better than me so it kind of scared my pants off but I'm a newbie so that was expected LOL. One of the staff members noticed that I was significantly shorter than the normal cart users so they put some things on the pedals so I could more easily use them. The second race was O K but not great. My boyfriend was definitely a lot more disappointed than I was. I was just happy to do better than the first race. Both of our carts were EXTREMELY slow. It was very noticeable, especially compared to the first and last race we did. When we asked staff why, they told us that the carts weren't charged up. That left us asking "why didn't you charge them for us?". The facility was mostly empty and we didn't really understand why we had paid so much money to slowly go around this track. The staff also didn't put anything on my pedals so I had to painfully slide down and press on them with my toes the whole time and it was almost impossible for me to push them down all the way. The entire way home he complained about that second race. The third race was a complete nightmare for me. I was genuinely upset with the way everything turned out. They put a really small kid in with all of the adults which posed a huge issue. The entire race he was blocking me, and clearly he didn't know what any of the flags meant because they kept telling him to let me pass but not once did this kid look behind him. I understand he's a child and may not understand but it was very sad for me because I just gave up and coasted behind him sadly, just thinking about how much money I had dumped down the drain. Secondly, there was a group of rude teenage guys in front of me. My boyfriend was able to pass around them quickly but I wasn't so lucky. They decided that they wanted to race side by side and try to talk to each other the whole time. I was, once again, left coasting behind them. It wasn't until I crashed into one of the boys that wasn't looking where he was going that I finally was able to get around them. I was surprised that the staff didn't say anything to them even when the whole race was stopped. They DID ask if we were all okay but never did they tell them to let me pass. It completely ruined my experience and I left K1 feeling frustrated and disappointed. I really did enjoy the very few times I was able to actually properly kart and would love to come back some day when I know the same thing won't happen again. Although some of these things are unavoidable and I understand the staff can't control EVERYTHING that goes on, there are many things that they could've done to make my experience and/or make it up to me. *review will be updated if some issues are addressed read more

They did not inform of the membership until after, we paid a total of $38 for one go. I am greatly disappointed. And no refund was given. They kept stopping the ride which was disappointing as well. If I could I would leave 0 stars. Also they swore they told of about the membership but 1 of my friends already paid and we didn't hear nothing until we were about to pay I wish they would've told us before signing up. When you see the website it seems it will be different than any other place but it is nothing different from a local kart place but more expensive. You walk in and nobody welcome you in, the person at the desk is checking people in and you just hope you are in the right place. I paid for everything online but it makes no difference than paying in there, you still have to go trough the same wait. The music was so slow that you wanted to sleep, you get there pumped for an experience but everything seems to be telling you "naaaah". Now we head to the waiting area, EVERY SINGLE table is dirty, trash from other customers ok the table nobody at the bar it looked abandoned. Now it's your turn, the staff isn't friendly at all, they move through people as if they were directing a kettle. The guys who explained how things worked didn't even came to the front of my group, from behind the fence moved us close to the kart and pointed how things worked, didn't explain flags or mentioned anything about safety other than don't bump on each other. There was a tiny white board with some handwritten notes on it, "really"? The karts are nice, but my wife's kart was set slower than all the others, she was also the only woman, so I guess if you are woman they will slow you down, what the heck?! Now we are racing against time and nobody is on the course, so if someone slow is in front of you blocking everybody from passing by, nobody is using flags and you better pray nobody spins because if someone does and one of them needs to go there help with the car your kart will go slow but the laps will still count. Overall it was fun and I see the potential of being different then a regular local kart that you just keep your foot down the pedal, but so far right now it is just more expensive nothing different. Training the staff to be receptive and having enough people to run the place the way it should would transform this place. I'd not recommend this place at the moment because of the premium price and same experience as the regular family go kart places around, but I'd love to see it working as it should and come back. read more

Asked when we raced next and was lied to saying we were next and watched 3 groups go ahead of us. When asking again then was told it would be 3 hours. Poor service and staff was rude. read more

Definitely not a place I would recommend right now. A lot of potential but no organization whatsoever which made us ended up waiting 2 hours just to be told we would have to wait till the group that reserve to be done and that group ended up waiting another hour and half before they could go. I figured hey could get some food while I wait to see what happens but they had no one working the snack bar/bar and waited twenty minutes there with several other customers. At that point I was ready to leave. I went back into line for another half and hour and I asked for a refund and a receipt for my refund but was not provided the receipt. I asked a second time and then I was told I should get an email receipt for my refund in two hours. Well next day and still no receipt and have to drive back there (45 minutes away) to get a receipt to verify they process the refund.
