I have lived in palo cedro for 60 years and try to keep things local if possible. When you pay for a service though you would think the business would warranty their work. I took my truck in for a speedometer fix and and air-conditioner fix. Paid over 800.00. I hadn't driven the truck much after I got it back. Had to make another appt to reprogram my stereo that was messed up when it was at fritz a week later and the truck air conditioner was blowing hot air. Made another appt with fritz and they charged me another 160.00 for finding the leak. I ask why I was paying a second time but I was told they had to charge for diagnosis. I was always told if you do it right the first time, you wouldn't have to do it over. read more

I'm a local here in Palo Cedro. I figured they might help. Jeremy couldn't even open the hood. After opening the hood I realized he broke the handle to open the hood. I left my truck with him for an estimate. Some $300 more and I had to stop the bleeding. I knew the rearend was shot. I just wanted to know how much to fix it. Thousands of $'s was the quote. Got my car done same day. Super fast service. I rented a car for a week, because I thought it would take that long to inspect get parts do the work. I was able to take back rental next day due to quick efficient service. Did not miss any work. Price was much lower than we expected. Just picked car up very happy with service so far. Great customer service, which is hard to find these days. We live in Manton was nice to find a place close. I will definitely let people know to go here. Had the misfortune of breaking down in Palo Cedro and was hoping to have enough time to check options, but felt forced or misled into buying an inspection, which led to no new information, at a significant cost. My truck wasn't starting well. Went to another auto repair shop who charged about $140 for a garbled report that I needed a new starter and an estimate of ~$1400 on top of the $140. Decided to get a second opinion at Fritz's and got the whole job done at Fritz's for ~$850 in one day. So appreciative for the cost savings and efficiency of a job well done. read more

I took my car in for a diagnostic analysis and repair. The diagnosic analysis wasn't bad in price nor was the repair. The price in regards to the cost of the parts were good and I believe that this garage is fairly priced in regards to labor. It is also located in a convenient location just off the highway. WOW! I can't believe I'm the first person to review Fritz's. These guys are hands-down the best mechanics ever. They are more than competitive in their pricing. However, far beyond pricing, they are honest. I've had them work on a multitude of cars I've owned from a 67 porche' to a 2002 pathfinder and all others in between. Always fast, friendly, honest, and thorough. I cannot recommend this business enough! If you live in the Redding area, this is the only mechanic worth visiting. I bring my car all the way from Sacramento to have Chris and the guys work on it... it's worth the extra $65 in gas to have a mechanic you trust. read more

$$$. New owner!!! Hang on to your wallet. Tried to charge me over $500 for a $250 wheel bearing kit. The total Estimate was well over 800. Wheel bearing was corrected across the street for 1/2 the price. Mounted a toolbox fuel tank in the wrong location of the bed. Corrected work. left holes in the bed of the truck, which I corrected with carriage bolts. They Charged .50 for zip ties x 11 ... BEWARE. Never again. read more

I had my sons car towed to Fritz Auto for a rear wheel bearing problem. They pulled the tire off of it and called me to tell me that it would cost $563 to Diagnose the problem then wanted labor and parts to fix it! I immediately called someone else that had the car towed to their shop and with the tow and repair charged me $180. I personally would not recommend this company and would avoid them! read more

i went here to get a smog! it was performed by jeramy he was rude and acted as if doing my smog was an inconvienance (i called and made an oppointment) it took him a half hour to perform it and the entire time he left my car idleing while he chatted it up in a flirtatious way with the parts delivery ladys from crown motors and napa! dont feel he appritiated my buiness! i move to palo cedro 8 months ago and was looking to find a good repair shop and im still looking and will find someone who will appritiate my buisness! my car passed smog though! read more
