Was visiting Augusta for my sister's birthday and decided to go to the Frog & the Hen for brunch to celebrate, and I'm an so glad I did. I ordered the Fried Chicken Biscuit and it was absolutely amazing. The chicken was the perfect amount of crunchy, the gravy had great seasoning and flavor, the biscuit was also very enjoyable. I have zero complaints about the meal, and 10/10 recommend it if you can't decide on what to get. I also ordered the bacon topped cinnamon roll, it was pretty good but nothing to rave about. I also ordered the Ranidae, I would not recommend it, it's not that great. Mine was watered down and wasn't very enjoyable. My aunt and sister ordered the avocado toast, and they said they really enjoyed it! My mom ordered the nachos and the portion size was HUGE! If you're feeling extremely hungry order the nachos, you won't be disappointed. All in all great Brunch spot I would definitely come back. You're welcome! read more

Sophisticated snacking is how my son and I started our mothers day Brunch off, with the cinnamon roll topped with candied bacon. We also snacked on the hen egg rolls that came with a peach dipping sauce. Both were satisfying. We then went into Belgian waffles and grits. My son had waffles and I had the grits with kale, gouda and ham. They were to die for I loved them! The chuparosa was the perfect Libation to accompany my meal. For not having a reservation on Mother's day we showed up at 10:15am waited 15 minutes and got a lovely patio seating. The hostesses were the mostiest with great management of the seating. For my first time on a busy holiday without a reservation I was thoroughly satisfied. Our server was great and pleasant. But the meal is what really made the utmost impression. Finally made it in and was not disappointed! The hen egg rolls were filling and delicious and I appreciated they didn't fall apart. Loved the peach sauce for dipping but they would be good without it too. I got the southern style chicken sandwich but asked them to make it honey butter style. It was PHENOMENAL. The fries are worth mentioning as well -- I believe they're the same ones that Farmhaus Burger serves. My partner got the fried chicken biscuit and did not care too much for his unfortunately. Had a great time here in August, so decided to go back for brunch today. Thought I'd get a cup of coffee from the counter while we waited but I stood there several minutes before anyone acknowledged me. Waited an hour to sit (party of 2). There were seats available at the bar but they didn't offer. When we finally were sat it took three asks to get a glass of water. Then we waited 45 minutes for food that arrived without utensils. The Nashville Hot sandwich did not have the pickles or slaw advertised on the menu. I am not exaggerating when I say the food was not even warm. You ever been served cold shrimp and grits??? I really enjoyed my brunch at FH. Very good service. Greeted warmly and our waitress was accommodating. Décor and lighting was modern and inviting. Very busy but seated immediately. The food was good. My only gripe is i don't eat meat(pescatarian). A deviled egg with bacon pieces came with my salmon toast unexpectedly but easy fix. I would die for this fried chicken. Every dish hits the mark. We tried the Nashville chicken dip, fried Mac and cheese balls, and hen egg rolls as appetizers. Everything was welll seasoned from the food to the accompanying sauces. I always go for a salad topped with fried chicken. The greens are fresh and the dressings work well with both the salad and the protein. The fried chicken is crunchy and salty on the outside with a soft, steamy interior. Good meat to batter ratio, you'll definitely get your moneys worth--unlike most fast casual chicken places that are mostly bread. The service here is quick and our waitress Ronda was pleasant and attentive. The place is clean, playlist is well curated, and the drinks are good too! Would highly recommend if you're in Evans. Simply AMAZING! We went the day before Father's Day, and despite it being busy as were promptly seated in a timely manner. We had coffee from the coffee bar, and let me say, we have not seen that at a breakfast place and it was simply amazing. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and friendly, just a nice theme. If you want to dress up a little more you can, and if you feel like dressing down that is perfect too! I had the Fried Chicken Biscuit and let me say it was perfect. A mix of crunchy, and soft, salty and sweetness. It was a good way to start off the day and was so big I had to share it with my family. Overall, one of my favorite restaurants that we have tried here so far. I will say on holidays or special occasions make a reservation; everyone seems to love the place! read more

I've been to Frog and the Hen on a few occasions including brunch, happy hour, take out but this time I came by myself for a quick dinner. It was a Tuesday at 5ish. It wasn't super busy but I opted for a seat at the bar. Service was great. She was attentive and informative. Realistically I would have been full with just the cup of chicken and rice soup with 1 to 2 biscuits but I over ordered knowing I needed a lunch the next day (honestly it turned into 3 to 4 meals). Loved the chicken sandwich. It had a nice balance of flavors with a little bit of sweetness and a kick from the jalapeños. The chicken was crispy and juicy. Biscuits were fluffy. I didn't do the house jam this time but I think that would have been a good addition. The hen eggrolls were maybe my least favorite but maybe I needed to use more of the dipping sauce. Previous visits I've tried their deviled eggs, fried mac and cheese bite, sides (mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans), fried chicked,, wings, and have enjoyed those as well. I definitely recommend going during their happy hour from 3 to 6pm since the snacks aka appetizers are half off and discounted cocktails, beer, wine. The fries with the chicken sandwich were inedible; luke warm greasy and soggy. Requested crispy fires - again greasy and still NOT crispy. Hands down the worst fried chicken sandwich I've ever attempted to eat. The place was busy and the cooks weren't letting the frying oil get hot enough to cook anything properly. They were just cleaning up the table, not a big deal. We sat down, took maybe 5 minutes to order our entrées. We ordered roasted quarter chicken with mash and fries, as well as small shrimp and grits. It was busy, but not all seats were filled, so not super intense I guess. By 8:20, I finally followed up on our meal and then shortly after, they brought it out. It seemed like our meal was sitting for a while waiting to be served because my shrimp and grits already formed to its bowl. It's like it would have been better if they just took that long to make it, than let the food die waiting to be picked up. It was so tasty and everyone was so lovely. Wow, just wow. I'm so glad we decided to come here for brunch. The menu is expansive! We came just after 10 am without reservations. The host was very sweet and accommodating. Reservations are definitely recommended though because by the time we were finished eating, there was not a table available in site. Our waitress was so kind and gave us some recommendations. We went with the fried chicken and waffles and the friend chicken biscuit with the maple gravy. To quote my bf, "this is the best chicken and waffles I've ever had." He ordered a coffee and I had a vanilla latte. But boy did the boozy brunch menu call our names--we just couldn't indulge today. The staff is so incredibly nice and attentive. We never had to flag anyone down for water and they all just genuinely seem to be happy. A few servers were dancing to the music when they thought no one was looking. Love to see that!! Kudos to the owner of this gem for curating a delicious menu but also for employing people of this caliber with awesome customer service. I ordered the Roasted Chicken with the spicy garlic sauce (I forgot the real name) with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans. It was all oh so good! I ordered the Hopscotch Ginger Ale. I've heard about this restaurant but never got the chance to dine...tonight I did. First we ordered 2 coffees. The Honey & Cinni full. We never eneded up with them until the end of our dinner. There was a shortage & no one was knowledgeable about making the drinks. That was frustrating however Emily had it compensated. We ordered 10 wings half Alabama white bbq & nashville hot. The tastes were good but I would suggest dipping the wings in the oil for the nashville then seasoning it...it only had the oil & I requested more seasoning. We ordered the deviled eggs. They were good. We also ordered the mac & cheese bites. The taste was delicious but they were barely warm inside & I requested another order which Emily was more than happy to get for us. We ordered the salmon toast & chicken schnitzel. I would say the toast could have been better .... adding extra pickled onions on it made it better. I would have prefer the toast slightly toasted...the side salad that came with it was very good. I had an order of the mac & cheese & buttered green beans. The veggies tasted very fresh & delicious. Fried Mac n cheese balls: so so good! There was a perfect crunch and the mac tasted delicious. Quarter fried chicken (white meat) with fries and collard greens: also hit the spot. I got the Nashville hot and it was spicy, but not overwhelming. I wish there was another dipping sauce for the chicken, but overall, no complaints. I loved the fries - they were cut small, salted well, and super crunchy. Cinnamon roll bread pudding: WHOA. This is sinfully delicious! Definitely don't order this if you're on a wedding diet *cough*. But seriously, this is such a decadent dessert, there is no way to not be happy while eating this. So yum. Service was impeccable! Came here on date night with my husband. The service was good and the food decent. It definitely has a hipster vibe. I'm not sure if they are going for a down to earth feel, or classy. They have rooster drawings on the wall, and the music consisited of Green Day, Nirvana, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Yet they use cloth napkins and pour your canned soda into a glass for you. They have an interesting variety of food choices on their menu. Mostly your average food but all with a twist. I ordered the Mac and cheese bites with cheddar and smoked gouda cheeses for an appetizer. For my meal, I got a spicy chicken sandwich with jalapeño coleslaw. My husband ordered nachos. Overall, I thought the food tasted alright but was slightly expensive for what you get. If you are looking for a place to hang out with friends, this place would work just fine. read more

Ashley was our server and even with attending to a large party and several other tables she was awesome! I ordered a caramel latte and bananas foster French toast with chicken sausage as a side while my mother ordered the southern fried chicken sandwich. Food all came out within 15 minutes and it was delicious! I could have drank the caramel sauce on the French toast with a straw! It was Pier, Caitlyn and Kinsey (probably killed their name spellings) who made our experience a fun one. Drinks were so good, Bloody Mary with the deviled egg! That deviled egg was everything! I will definitely be back for them specifically. The Pina Colada with the cherry soaked in alcohol was so delish. We tried the fried Mac n cheese balls with the amazing dipping sauce. After returning them for reheat they were delicious. The chicken sandwich with the dill cucumbers was so good but get honey mustard as well as it was a bit dry at first. Mash potatoes had to go back to reheat and tasted a bit odd with sweet butter. No salt offered on the table which seemed odd but no big deal. My dad ordered biscuits and gravy and he liked it a lot. Happy hours good! The Manager was so kind to have our food reheated and then on her own took care of the item we requested to be reheated. Very nice gesture. The service is great and very worth visiting again. We will definitely come back to visit again. If you go ask to sit in Pier or Caitlyn section. They are good souls.
