The food was average, the price was outrageous and the portions were small. The escargot was with a pastry type item that was meh. The lamb chops were rough, the salad was tasteless and the espresso martini was an attempt to be trendy that fell short. The only reason I am giving two stars because the waiter was on it,m. It was 9pm on a weeknight and we were last ones out for a birthday dinner. Felt awkward and will not return. It was better in the early 2000s.

So disappointed with the food here. First I'll say I made a reservation for a table for 6 to celebrate my husbands birthday. The ambience was nice and we were seated right away but there were so many flies. It was annoying constantly trying to keep them from our food and table. The service was 5 star, our servers were lovely and made my husbands birthday special with a candle in his creme brûlée... now the food... Sadly everyone in our party was disappointed and we ordered a huge mix of menu items. We spent over $650 not including tip. The French onion soup was atrocious, we ordered 2, my friend was disgusted, tasted like sour lemon soup. Both of us didn't finish them and it's our absolute favorite soup to order but definitely NOT here. Awful. I regret not asking the waiter to it off the bill. My husband ordered veal and it was the strangest dish, literally looked like a goulash, couldn't tell what the meat was, awful again. The cheese plate was literally a pear cut into small slices with 5 tiny slices of cheese on it, more pear then cheese. Sadly all our guests were disappointed with the cuisine. Made me feel bad because I made the reservation. Would not come back here. It's a pity because the location and ambiance is great just the food isn't worth it.

    Special of the day

This place has certainly set my expectations high for fine dining. It is the most delicious french cuisine I've ever had. The location is beautiful and i highly recommend sitting outside if possible to enjoy the city vibe. The manager there is so nice and welcoming. The food is absolutely amazing. The prices are high but that's why it's labeled as fine dining. It is well worth the price and experience. The escargots were buttery and smooth. The shrimp had an exotic flavor. The special of the day which was a white fish with their specialty sauce was divine. It also came with a salad that had the most delicate in-house vinaigrette. The wine we ordered was a perfect middle of sweet and dry. Our waiter was kind and we were constantly being checked up on and given bread refills when needed. I would come here over and over again and recommend this place to everyone I know! It is the perfect way to try out different French dishes with a quality you wouldn't find just anywhere. Absolutely splendid!

Our family has visited Froggy's since it first opened in the 70's. Incredible fresh French cuisine with rotational dishes at accessible prices. Good wine list too and excellent service. Still going strong!

Came here twice while in town. Tried almost everything on the menu, loved all of it. Lamb was delicious, as well as the ratatouille.

My parents used to come here all the time. Are used to think it was too froufrou for me, but it's not at all had some great cocktails, followed by the pate platter. I got white fish for dinner. as did the people with me and we all thought it was great. Ended with a delicious chocolate dessert. I was so busy enjoying I forgot to take pictures of my fish and the pate.

Outstanding cuisine, service and ambience. The front room feels as if we were sitting at a fine bistro in Paris.

I ordered the Tinto de Verano, and it was really good. It was a bit strong and reminded me of a sangria. For tapas, we got the #21 shrimp dish, which was packed with flavor. The combination of sauces and spices paired perfectly with the shrimp. We also ordered the #35 calamari, which was equally delicious. The calamari was light and airy, and the accompanying sauces added even more flavor. We also shared the patatas bravas, which were crispy and had a nice little kick to them. Overall, the food was excellent, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was really enjoyable. I'd definitely come back to try more dishes!

So we came here on a random Friday night to test our luck to get a table at 7 o'clock for two people. We got lucky and got to sit inside because that's where we wanted to sit although they do have sidewalk or outdoor seating as well. I thought sitting inside would be cooler, but I was wrong as all the doors and windows were open and I don't believe the AC was on at all. Well, the menu is pretty extensive. I will say that a vegetarian could definitely eat here as well as anyone else. This is our first visit here and as you can tell from the photos ordered quite a bit of food. And typical top of style the portions are pretty small, but they are meant to be shared. It was actually too much food for two people who were already hungry. Some of the standouts were definitely the meatballs and the salad salads. The jamon iberico was absolutely incredible. Not pictured was the picture of sangria we ordered. We got the rosé and to be quite honest with all of the heat. It actually watered down way too quickly. And it also came in a plastic picture, which was a bit of a turn off. The shrimp with garlic was good, but the garlic was hard to taste because it was also covered or doused in a lot of tomato base or tomato sauce. I was really looking forward to a very clear buttery or olive oil sauce that was saturated with garlic. The mushrooms were OK as well, but again too much tomato in this dish that I'm not used to. The potatoes were also very tasty and well seasoned, and the sauce on it was just right. I think this is a good option for people who want top us in the suburbs however, I will say that I hope they do some tweaking to the recipes as well so that they have something that truly makes them stand out and unique.

It's very peaceful, romantic and a calm atmosphere. All of the food was delicious. The plating is so attractive! The dishes have great flavor but are healthier options. The portion sizes were perfect for what we desired. I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the best branzino I've ever had. The skin was crunchy and delicious. But the fish was not dry at all! There's nothing better than a juicy branzino fish and chef Jose nailed it! Matching with the sauce and beans was so much better than any other veggies or starch. The octopus was also cooked to perfection. The flavor and temperature was just right. Not too hot and such a great texture. We don't always order desserts but we had to see every course of the menu. We decided to go with a lava cake and it did not disappoint. It had that perfect contrast of hot and cold but it's served with gelato which gives it a nice touch of texture compared to standard ice cream. Chef Jose came out and introduced himself. We came in because we were enticed by a beef tartare that was on their menu in the past. We're hoping he brings it back on a special sometime soon. He said to give him a call and he'll try to accommodate whenever possible to make his customers happy. What an amazing restaurant. We cannot wait to come back and see what's new. Thank you for an amazing dinner and night!

Feather Glass Wine Bar & Eatery - Vernon Hills, IL…read more Overall Rating: Highly Recommended Feather Glass is a fantastic spot that nails the wine bar experience with a beautiful, modern aesthetic and top-tier service. While the food is incredibly tasty, a few minor tweaks to the composition and seasoning of certain dishes would make the experience truly flawless. The Highlights: Drinks, Ambience, & Service * The Flights: We thoroughly enjoyed both the wine and mimosa flights. They are well-curated, beautifully presented, and a great way to sample their extensive selection. * Atmosphere: The ambience is excellent and sophisticated, making it one of the most visually appealing spots in Vernon Hills. * Service: The staff provides excellent service--attentive and professional throughout the entire meal. Food Feedback & Suggestions * Mediterranean Flatbread: Very flavorful, but the olives can make it quite salty. Adding a balsamic glaze would provide a sweet contrast to balance out the saltiness. * Beet Salad: Features fresh, high-quality ingredients. This dish would benefit from a touch more salt and a bit more acid (like a bright vinegar) in the dressing to really highlight the earthy beets. * Paneer Palak Bites: A delicious fusion idea, but the execution was slightly misleading and difficult to eat. The bread lacked the expected toasted crispiness, and because the paneer is served in a thin slice, it often slides off, leaving the sauce on the plate. * Suggestion: Try chopping the paneer into small cubes, bruschetta-style, and mixing them directly with the sauce. Layering that mixture onto a properly toasted baguette would create a much more stable and crunchy bite while keeping the great texture of the cheese. Final Verdict Despite these small suggestions, this is a great restaurant that you should definitely check out. The flavors are delicious and the overall experience is wonderful.

There were only two other tables there when we arrived. Nice ambience and decor. Everything arrived lukewarm or cold which is so odd considering there weren't a lot of people there. We waited quite a bit too so were shocked when our food wasn't hot. Paneer Palak Bites: Flavorful and yummy. A lot smaller than I thought they would be and they give you 5. My husband and I split the last one but I'll never understand why appetizers would be served in odd numbers. Especially considering how small and thin the baguettes were. Chicken Sliders: Tasty! The naan "buns" were a little thick though and had a weird greasy taste. We ended up taking the top naan off and eating it like a taco. The potatoes it came with had a lot of flavor but were tiny mushy little cubes. Almost as if they were frozen. Chicken Kabobs: Rice was cold. Some of the chicken wasn't cooked. I had to shine a light to the plate because it tasted off and it was pink. The waitress saw me do this but didn't approach us or say anything. We're not ones to complain so we just ate what we could. Honestly though, we could have went down the street to Pita Inn and had WAY better quality and warm food. The chicken at Pita Inn is always so moist and tender. This was literally pink, chewy and hard to cut. It was just terrible. Ended up spending about $160 including tip and the bottle of wine we had. For that price, you'd expect much better quality of food. Really wanted to love this place so it's very disappointing. We ended up going out for pizza and beer afterwards to end the night on a good note.

At first we were not sure we would like it, but boy were we wrong! We started off with the duck polpetta - this small plate was absolutely fantastic and the sauce it came with had you scraping the plate for more. (Note though: the menu says THREE and we only received 2...) Our meals came with soup or salad and we each got a salad and soup - the salad dressing was out of this world. The minestrone was just okay. On to the entrees. My date ordered the salmon with a side of fettuccine Alfredo - this was cooked to perfection - so succulent and the seasoning was beautifully topped. I ordered the Veal Modenese - it was so flavorful I am still thinking about it the next day and how I could have it over and over again.
