This is my 3rd visit to this location & the staff and food never disappoint! I often order the chicken teriyaki with brown rice and veggies- SO DEEEELICOUS!!! This visit I opted for a Cali Burger & Fries. Dressed with lettuce, tomato, onion, pepperjack cheese, & avocado with a jalepeno ranch and bacon. Burger was warm, but bun was cold- not a biggy but stood out for me. Burger was well cooked. Fries were cooked to a crunch on the outside and soft in the middle. A bit too salty this round for me. Portion was big for me so had some left over for dinner. They also serve a huge variety of baked goods & hand crafted coffee and teas. There is nothing better than a warm bowl of chicken pot pie soup on a grey, rainy day and From the Hearth came through. The pie crust is a bit crunchy and the soup broth has a pepper kick to it. I used to eat breakfast here all the time. Then really good cheeseburgers with fries for lunch or dinner with your date. I was able to have an ice water with a splash of lemon there complimentary.They keep glasses near the fountain machine. But it is a trick. They fool you into having a dilute lemon water on the house. But before you even take a sip this bald, guy from the kitchen came charging out, and then get this: the cook would curse at you, yell and kick you out of this now weird place. It was a relief to get out of there. The toilets stunk and had fresh skid marks. After getting 86ed once by that bald guy they used to have working there nights, we never went back ever, ever again. I would recommend to this otherwise good food and reasonably priced cafe to never let a hairy cook curse and yell at your customers that spend money at your establishment. We went here on dates for years then got spooked by a cook. It would be nice if the management here at the Hearth went ahead with their plans to open up a chain of strip clubs (pictured). read more

For 30+ years, I've lamented that the dining choices along I-5 on my periodic drives across the state have no variety, healthy options or anything of culinary interest, unless you're a big fan of olives. Then I discovered From the Hearth, just a couple of minutes off the freeway. They have a terrific selection of tasty, healthy bowls, baked goods, and coffee drinks. In this part of rural California, I didn't expect to find well prepared dishes with choices that include quinoa, brown rice, tofu and oat milk, while also catering to those who prefer some tasty meat in their meal. The dining room is clean and cozy. Plenty of free parking. I wish I had a cafe like this close to home. Skip the fast food trash and give this spot a try. read more

4.5 stars!! This place was surprisingly delicious! As one of the few restaurants in Red Bluff with 4+ stars it did not disappoint. It's order at the counter and sit down and wait for them to bring your food to you. The service was a little slow, but it sounds like they had had a really hectic day. Probably 10-15 min to get our food, not horrible. I got the chi bowl and loved it! The umami sauce was really good and I liked the option to switch rice for kale/quinoa. My husband wanted the French dip but they were all out - he ended up getting the streak sandwich and liked it. There' was plenty of available seating when we went - we really liked the coziness of the booths. The side of fries was yummy too and felt extra fried. There were a lot of people during a Sunday lunchtime, but somehow, the place felt so comfortable. Did not feel crowded at all. We found all of the employees to be so friendly and helpful. Liked it enough to stop by on the way back. First time: Ordered flank steak teriyaki bowl with brown rice and sauce on side. I prefer less sauce so appreciated can have it in side. Fresh veggies,, crunchy shaved carrots, meat was ok. A lot of brown rice, didn't want to waste it so ate it all. Probably should've gone with kale and quinoa option instead. My wife and I were traveling back from up North and stopped in to Red Bluff for lunch with our daughter. We got our idea of the recommendation on Yelp. Lots of reviews most of them talked about the fresh food and it had a lot of reviews with a nearly five star rating. As we came into town our car was directed by GPS to drive down what appeared to be the old Main Street and those buildings were just delicious to look at with a wonderful Courthouse across the street. The restaurant itself seemed fairly busy some sit down customers some outside seating and definitely take out which they had their takeout orders ready on a rack. We met Rebecca at the counter who assisted us and guided us through the menu. Explaining that we were on a keto diet she directed us to the perfect meals that would fall into our meal plan. We were so happy with her suggestion. We sat at the table in the middle of the room they were very very clean and organized the bathrooms were very clean and organized. It was a delight being in a restaurant that didn't have a lot of clutter. The selection of items was really nice too. In the cooler rather than having it full of beer they had the new spritzer drinks that are popular with younger people these days. I ordered the Cobb salad my wife and my daughter ordered a different type of salad and each salad was large, full, and delicious. All the ingredients in the bowl we're obviously fresh. I hate to order a salad at a restaurant and see old lettuce. It's so conspicuous. Everything in my bowl was fresh and crisp and had I appeal. The chef came out at one point I looked at him and he was such a very young man but I had to compliment him on his style. He nailed it being as young as he looked. While we ate our meal we had a wonderful conversation with a server named Glo. She was polite, inquisitive, smiling, happy, and a wonderful front person for the business. Engaged us in a short conversation and made us feel very very welcome at this place. The entire Express would be worth repeating if we ever come to Red Bluff again during a meal time. read more

One of my favorite spots to visit in Red Bluff. Red Bluff is a town that doesn't have too many restaurants--let alone restaurants that are focused on healthy, fresh ingredients. From the Hearth has become a regular spot for me. I usually order the tofu teriyaki bowl or the bowl with cilantro lime sauce (I can't quite remember the name). Both are amazing. The service is friendly and the food comes out fast. The interior is cute and clean They have an iced coffee that has become my favorite. It's called the iced hot honey lavender latte. It's not everyone's cup of tea (or coffee I guess) but if you like spicy, herbal flavors then I highly recommend this iced coffee. I travelled for work so I always look for places with good clean food. This is my fourth time eating at this establishment the place is clean, staff are friendly the food is delicious. Today I had the worst experience. I waited 30 minutes for a pot pie, the waiter walked past my table multiple times dropping off food to people who ordered after me. A while later he asked if I was different customer and walked away without my order. After a long wait the cashier stop by apologized for the wait and brought my order. Some of the things I liked: The tomato basil soup. The rye toast that came with the classic egg breakfast. I was told that they get a daily shipment of bread, and I believe they have their own central bakery. I also liked the breakfast potatoes (red potatoes that were seasoned and not greasy). Additionally, the coffee was good. If I lived in the area, I'd be eating here weekly. read more
