ABSOLUTELY hands-down the worst lunch spot on Midway. I should have known better when pulling up to this location during lunch hour, and only seeing two cars out front. Placed my order online for the pastrami and Swiss giant sandwich, went to pick it up assuming they would make it like it was pictured on the app, got home, opened the container, and it's not on pumpernickel, but sourdough, and the meat was incredibly thin. Had to call them three times before someone would pick up, and the person who answered the phone first said they don't have pumpernickel bread, then she blamed me for ordering sourdough. I waited until 11:05 and still no order so I asked what we could do. The cashier would only say that she could not make my order if she did not have a receipt. I again showed her my email confirmation and she said she could not accept that. I wasted 30 minutes on top of never getting my food. Now having to wait 3 days for a refund. EXTREMELY POOR customer service. I will never do business at this location again and will be going out of my way to let anyone else know how poor this location is. Not sure why the reviews are so low for this Schlotzsky's, but we had a fine visit here recently. I mourn the fact that they don't offer that ridiculously delicious sun-dried tomato pesto sauce on their pizzas anymore, but the regular marinara sauce is decent. I ordered the kids cheese pizza which was ample in size for me, and it came with a nice little cookie and drink. I love how fluffy yet crisp the crust is. My partner had the turkey and avocado sandwich, and it was fresh. All in all, no complaints! Worth a quick lunch. read more

The sandwich had excellent flavor and I liked the combination of ingredients. The salad was average. It didn't taste fresh. The reason I'm writing this is simple, the food I ordered was not what I received, and I found out about it after I left with my food. I ordered a med deluxe original, and received I believe the original, it had the minimum amount of meat and toppings it looked nothing like the pictures on the menu. I asked for some pickles and received very old pickles, not worth eating. On Saturday I placed an order for two sandwiches and due to another restaurant messing up an order, I didn't get a chance to pick up this one. I called and spoke to the manager, who became hostile and stated she didn't understand what I was saying, then hung up the phone. I went into the location and she instructs an employee (in Spanish) to record me.......fine. I called the police. When the officers showed up, she played victim and still refused to refund my money. When I asked for the number to Corporate, she told me to Google it, so corporate has been notified, and she needs to removed due to her behavior (hopefully). I am NOT a sandwich eater; okay, maybe an occasional egg or tuna salad, but oh so rarely. And, then, once or twice a year I awake craving an Original Turkey (sans salami) from Schlotzskys. Honestly, I think it's the bread I really want; I do love my carbs in the form of rolls, biscuits, cornbread, and freshly baked bread. And, folks, that is what eventually draws me here. While standing in front of the 'fridge this morning, reviewing my left overs for consideration, and then perusing the Lean Cuisine options in the freezer, it struck me; I had the semi-annual attack for SSS, so hopped in the auto and made the short drive to this close by spot around 1130; good, not crowded yet. Walked in to no line, friendly young man took my order, gave me the magic number that would be called, and 5 minutes later, I am picking up my sandwich. I asked for two containers of their tasty creamy horseradish sauce which is a must to add to the good flavors of the roasted turkey, red onions, tomatoes, black olives, shredded lettuce, and that wonderful freshly baked, warm toasted bread. It was very good; I ordered a small, and one half slathered with that zesty horsey sauce satisfied my cravings, along with a few of the salt & vinegar chips (for shame on me, I was really BAD today!). I took my meal home to enjoy but this location of SSS is very comfortable, sparkling clean and well organized. I have driven by many times during peak lunch hours and the parking lot is packed, so it must really draw a good crowd during this time. SSS, see you again in October! This location is very close to my house so I go once a week. I give 5 stars for the food but have to rate 4 stars because more times than not, the customer service sucks. I do get great service about 20% of the time but the other 80% of the time. It seems like the people don't care to be friendly at all. Most of the time I don't get greeted and I often have to yell into the back room for someone to come out and take my order. They should at least put a bell on the counter to ring when customers come in. I do love the food there. I has been over 4 years since I've had one of their delicious sandwiches. This location has a Cinnabon inside as well. The staff were friendly and more than accommodating for any request. This location moved! It's no longer stuck in the back of the shopping center next to Nickelrama... It's RIGHT up front next to the Fuzzy's. AND they added a drive thru. Although it's weird to get to the drive thru (they have a little u-turn drawn out next to the dumpsters), at least it's there! I stopped by this new location on Tuesday 10-04 when they were offering their Small Original sandwich for $1.99 (which is $2 off) for their 40th anniversary! The sandwich was delicious and out pretty quickly (Schlotzsky's takes a little longer than a Subway, etc but it's also WAY better), and the girl at the window was super nice. The biggest downside to this location is that they close at 4pm on Sundays (wtf?). At least, they did in the old location next to Nickelrama. The website says it still shuts at 4pm, but it'd be nice if they were open later. Sometimes you just want a sandwich at 6 or 7pm, you know? I love the food here and it is very convenient because it is down the street from my work at the Midway location. I order online or via mobile app but lately it has been not available for this location, which of course it doesn't tell me until I am submitting my order. I had orders for 4 people and I was already out of the office so reordering from another place would have been way more trouble than it was worth. I called 3 times with no answer from a person. Finally a automatic voice answered asking for a personal authorization number, or something like that. I asked one of my co-workers from the office to please try and call in the order while I was running my errand. She called 6 times with the same no answer. Whatever, I ended up going in to order from the counter. I asked if something was wrong with their phone, and she said nonchalantly that she was the only one there that could answer the phone and take counter orders so she lets it ring. I told her the mobile/online system wasn't working either, but she just said sorry what can I get you. I placed $40 worth of orders and sat at a table right in front of the counter to wait. 20 minutes had gone by and they are bringing food to people all around me. I didn't hear my name but they didn't have too many to call so I couldn't have NOT heard my name AND I was the first table. The ordering counter was empty a few times with the little rush of people that randomly showed up, so she had to see me there. Well obviously when she took my order she didn't bother to get the correct name. And so I sat, no one came to ask the woman at the empty table in FRONT of the counter about my order. They just don't care because they get enough customers. When I finally went up there, I was upset and slightly loud. They got my order off the top of their oven and said sorry, you must not have heard your name,which she read off to me. The name she said wasn't even my name except it started with a J. I realize they were short-handed, but you have mobile/online ordering so I just don't understand why you wouldn't want to keep that up to make it less hectic in the restaurant. I guess it would cause people like me who have tried in the past few months and it failed, to not order that day. No worries for them, less customers for them to deal with. But there are days I just want this place and I suffer through it. I love their food, but when it comes to their care for the customers, it isn't there. They're known for their good customer service and selection of food. To be honest I was never a fan of their bread, taste spongey and stale to me. I like their salads and soups. I purchased an angus and cheese sandwich but it was very dry. The chips are ok . They are not a well known brand of chips and with me the chips has to compliment the sandwich which means the chips has to be very very good. The service was ok. This was a first time delivery order from Schlotzsky's. It was pretty good aside from kind of weird tasting sauce on the Ham and Cheese Original sandwich. This was not worth the price. By the time you get a bag of chips, pay delivery fee, service fee(whatever that is) and tip the driver you are out almost $20 for this sandwich - no drink. Shame on you Schlotzsky's for charging a $2.99 delivery fee for something you make a ton of money on! Sandwich does not match the picture of the website in that the picture shows ham piled high. What was received was rather flat and mostly bread. That being said, it was fresh and high quality and is enough for two people. I would not do a delivery option again but I might stop by and try another item in the store. read more

I love Schlotzsky' s. I worked for them about 33 years ago, right after I got out of high school. I love the sandwiches, but I do not like this store. It is a larger store and was not that busy when we walked in and ordered. Maybe 15 people in the dining room and there were two people at the counter in front of us, but they got slammed with a dinner rush right after we ordered. My boyfriend and I ordered two large sandwiches to go. We walked over to the drink machines to fill our drinks while we waited for our order and had to ASK that the drink counter be wiped up because it was soaked with liquid from drinks being spilled. Strike one. They only had 3 people working there, two in the back and one girl at the counter. Of the two in the back, one lady was putting the garlic butter, parmesan and cheeses on the bread and putting them in the roller oven. The guy was getting the buns from the oven and finishing them from there. He reminded my boyfriend and I of Eyore from Winnie The Pooh. He was SO SLOW and showed NO EFFORT WHATSOEVER to try and make sure that orders were getting out in a timely manner! He also did not have on the uniform shirt that the girls had on, but instead a plaid button up shirt. There were about 5 or 6 other people who were standing around with us waiting for their to go orders to be brought to the window for pick up. All of us were saying how slow the employees in the back were working. As we were leaving, we apologized to the girl at the counter, feeling sorry that she was the ONLY one there trying to bust her ass and get customers taken care of and make sure that the tea decanters were full and that tables were cleaned when customers left. We apologized about the two in the back and that's when she told us that "Eyore" was the STORE MANAGER!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? HOW??
