Wow. This spot..., you know it is going to be fantastic as soon as you walk in! The smells and sounds give the ambiance of a little Italy! As a celiac gal I am always nervous of Italian spots due to gluten free options and cross contact concerns. After reading a couple reviews we decided to stick with it and I am so happy we did! I chatted with the owner for a bit and she had been gluten free for 20 years. She was knowledgable about my concerns. While they cannot 100% guarantee no cross contact they do understand my concern. I decided on a pizza but created my own. I did Chicken garlic tomato, olive and mozzarella.... Tre's bien! This celiac gal was beyond excited to dive into the beauty. I also ordered a side salad with their house dressing. Seriously Besa y'all need to bottle and sale this stuff! After chatting with the owner I decided next time I will try the gluten free pasta. If I could put negative stats I would. Arrived Approx 645p on a Thursday. The restaurant was not that busy. A couple 2 top tables a four person table and a table of like 8. 3 servers on the floor and a trainee and possibly the owner(older lady with glasses). We were seated and ordered drinks from the first guy. The next guy brought our drinks and we ordered appetizer. Drinks and app came pretty quick. Cool I'm thinking. We place our order, nothing major, 3 of us in our party, chicken parm sandwich, a calzone and a Stromboli. Then we wait... and wait... more people come in. We are still waiting. A table of 6 sits down behind us about 15 min after we ordered. They order. We are still waiting. 10 min or so and the 6 top gets their food!!! Mind you we are at least 30 min plus since placing our order. I approached the older lady and inquire. She said she would check. 5 min later our server strolls up and grabs our app plates and casually informs us our order ticket got lost and he just reprinted it and they would get it out shortly!! Mind you, after we placed our order the server never once came back to our table to check on us. Had he been doing his job effectively he would have discovered the missing order. Needless to say we told them to cancel our order and left. Sad part is, the food I saw come out looked amazing and I was super excited to try it. It felt like a neighborhood spot, cozy and inviting. My partner & I have come here MULTIPLE times. They have amazing, delicious food! However, beware that the owner & the employees on the phone are RUDE & unprofessional. Dining in is rarely an issue. Sometimes service is slacking, but we're human & can't always be perfect. I placed my first Togo order the other night, & after dealing with an unprofessional employee on the phone who could not stop interrupting me, I realized that they up-charged me for pink vodka sauce but did not add pink vodka sauce to the food as requested. They also included pork in a meal that was very clearly requested to ONLY BE BEEF. When I tried to call the store to let them know these issues, the employee did not want to transfer me to the manager! And then, the manager/owner was the rudest, most unpleasant person I have ever spoken to! Completely unwilling to hear me out & even tried to blame the cook's mistakes on ME, even with proof that I paid for sauce that wasn't added to my food. So while they do have good food, it's at the cost of unpleasant workers and an extremely rude & unprofessional owner. Unfortunately Besa's has lost two regular loyal customers! read more

We took a chance since the DoorDash reviews were ok but recent ones not so much. We should have known the recent are the most accurate. The all meat pizza was cooked properly in a New York style. The pizza tasted good. The meatball and ziti pasta was not good. The meatballs are bulk frozen and not fresh. If you're going to be authentic Italian you should make fresh. The marinara sauce was very watery. Almost like a canned sauce that added a ton of water to stretch it out. The eggplant parm description we thought was a dish. Instead it showed up on a hoagie roll. The eggplant was absolutely horrible!!!! It was not fresh at all. Thick and chewy like it had been sitting a long time and got rubbery. The garlic bread was so dry and hard. It was not fresh, warm or have buttery flavor. The butter has been on it long enough to dry out. It was not toasted when I say dry it's like dry bread that's been out on the counter. The cannoli was advertised a chocolate cream filled which is a lie. We got a regular ricotta cream filling. It is also not home made it bulk purchased. The cheesecake has no topping compared to the advertisement they use. This is a low quality generic cheesecake very small slice. This was a big disappointment for us as a first time customer. I've been here half a dozen times with my mom and/or mom and friends and I just cannot recommend this place. Everything is so incredibly bland. No thought or care is given to any of the pastas or sauces. A beginner cook with a box of pasta and a jar of sauce might produce something better. Service is not friendly. No matter how nice I have ever been when speaking to the counter staff, all I get is blank looks or grouchiness. The only reason I am even giving 2 stars is because they are generous with portions and they accommodated my special request to make something vegetarian. If you want cheap and quick but very mediocre American Italian food, then this is the place for you. read more

Got a paper menu dropped off at my work. I decided to order as their prices were reasonable. I ordered the Baked Zoti with meat sauce. On menu with just sauce $10.99, with meat $11.99. I ordered with meat. To Go. I picked it up and the girl said it would be $16.97! I said the menu said $11.95. She responded that there is an additional $2.99 charge for the meat. I just looked o their menu on yelp and website and it has different prices. The Ziti with meat was very good and plentiful, but not for $17. Most likely will not return. This is the second time I've had an issue with Besa's. This post is in reference to their take out orders and service. Yeah, I know their food is good, but that doesn't make up for a total lack of customer friendly attitude and flexibility when trying to give them a to go order. This evening at 4:30, I attempted to call in a to go order over the phone. I ordered an entree that comes with a side of pasta, available with a few different sauces. I asked if they could accommodate me by giving me the side of pasta with red clam sauce. The person on the phone said she doesn't think that would be available. I said I would be happy to pay any up charge necessary. She asked me to hold to see if she could do this, and came back a minute later saying it was not possible. I said, is it not possible because you don't have red clam sauce today, or because you just won't do it. She said they won't do it. I asked if I could order a linguini with red clam sauce entree, and she said, no problem. I said ok, knowing that I was now ordering 2 entrees, just to get what I wanted. Now she asked if I would like a side salad with my original entree, in light of the fact that I was now getting a pasta entree. I said yes, please give me a Caesar salad. She said they couldn't do that, only a tossed salad. I was thinking, "are you kidding, is there anything else that you won't do to make a customer happy?! In any case, unhappily, I placed the order. She said it would be ready in 30 minutes. Thirty minutes! At 4:30 in the afternoon! When there's nobody in the store! That was the last straw. I canceled the order, and said goodbye. I tried this place two times. I didn't write a review the first time because I wanted to give it another try .. I say that because I ordered the shrimp scampi on my first visit, and it was a little on the watery side of saucy. Second try, I ordered the seafood pasta, and that was more soupy as well to my liking for Italian I think it should be more saucy than watery. The taste is pretty good overall. The garlic bread and salads were very good. What I love about this place is , you can bring your own bottle of wine.. prices are reasonable. Ordered a small Special Neapolitan (thin crust) pizza. Online menu doesn't tell you the toppings. I called to find out it was 4 meats & 4 veggies (8 toppings). It was ready when I arrived. Restaurant is popular, only a few empty tables. A quiet neighborhood eatery. Pizza was ok. Crust was a NY "fold over slice" so a bit thicker than what I wanted but still reasonable. Pie was well covered with ingredients. 2 slices were all I could eat for dinner. I love cold pizza for breakfast so was delighted. Since Besa's is across the street I will dine in and try other options. There was a board with 4 specials listed-all very appealing. As full as they were it could have been noisy but wasn't. My daughter and I met for lunch, so we each had one of the lunch specials consisting of 2 pieces of pizza, salad, and a drink for $10.99. The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce with one slice of tomato. I would have liked to have had more tomatoes, etc. on my salad. I had the house Italian dressing, and it was REALLY GOOD. This place is a hidden gem! I came here for a book club meeting and was really impressed. We sat on the patio and received good service, the rolls are warm and tasty, it's BYOB so you can't beat that, and the Shrimp Alfredo was delicious! This is a great bang for your buck place.
