What a treat! Daughter and I were out exploring country roads in Clermont County when, by mid afternoon, we'd realized we hadn't had lunch. A quick search had us aiming for The Front Street Cafe in New Richmond, facing the mighty Ohio River. Their lunch menu had exactly what we needed on this freezing day: paninis! I had the Brie and Turkey, daughter had the Brisket French Dip. We traded halves to double our taste sensations. Wonderful! Served with super crispy chips. We feel lucky to have found this place that makes homemade, skillfully crafted meals! Waitress was outstanding and friendly, and our meal was served up promptly. We snagged the table by the fire -- perfection! The place seemed very cozy but did in fact have many tables. Great paintings of river scenes on the walls. We were literally the only customers due to the time of day, but it clearly gets a loyal dinner and brunch crowd -- and the dinner menu looked tasty! Easy street parking. read more

I went in for a weekday lunch solo. I sat at the bar and was greeted immediately. The lunch menu was a great bang for your buck! I got the chicken bacon ranch panini wrap with chips and coleslaw. The coleslaw has a sweetness to it that I wasn't a fan of. I do wish that was disclosed or a description somewhere. The wrap was fantastic. I ordered the seasonal St. Patrick's Day cake. It was pretty dry and not good. I took it home figuring someone else would eat it but ended up throwing it away. I then ordered the cheesecake as a safe bet and it was fresh and delicious. read more

Front Street Cafe is the best restaurant in town if not the city. I love how every visit feels like catching up with an old friend. The food is amazing, each dish tastes like it was made with lots of love, whether it's the juiciest burger on Thursdays or one of their weekly specials that never fails to surprise me. But what really makes it special is the people. The staff remember your name and your favorite drink, and they always make you feel like you truly belong. It's never just a meal. the people are truly great. Also a bonus is constant live music. I'm so thankful to have Front Street Cafe around. A friend of mine lives in New Richmond, Ohio and has been urging me to try this restaurant. So we finally did it! I am glad that we did. Parking was easy in a lot right next to the restaurant. We were greeted as we walked in and they told us to sit at any table that did not have a reserved sign on it. You have a nice view of the Ohio River from your seat in the restaurant. Our waiter came to the table to take our drink order and we knew exactly what we wanted. We each ordered a different Mimosa flight. Such fun and tasty. We also ordered the Brie and fig appetizer. My friend ordered the Winter Mimosa Flight and I ordered the Who Dey Mimosa flight in honor of the Bengals being in the NFL playoff round. The appetizer had nice crusty bread along side fig jam and warm Brie. For our meal I ordered the special of the night which was a filet mignon with asparagus and smashed potatoes. My friend ordered the Pasta Lafayette which was composed of andouille sausage, shrimp, red bell peppers, and onions in a spicy Cajun cream sauce and penne pasta and a side salad. My steak was perfectly cooked. My friend loves their signature pasta dish. Of course we could not go without ordering dessert so I had the vanilla crème brûlée and my friend had the vanilla cheese cake with a chocolate sauce. The flavor of my crème brûlée was good but it did not have enough crusty sugar in my opinion as it was a bit soft. We had a lovely leisurely dinner and as we were getting close to leaving a person was setting up in the corner to sing with his guitar. What a great little cafe! My husband and I stopped in for lunch while in the area on Sunday. It sits right across the street from the Ohio River - in the stretch of shops along Front Street. My husband had the Rueben and I ordered the Chicken Salad. On a whim I decided to have a Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary is fantastic! I ordered their special one that comes with a house-made mix, Tito's vodka and topped with bacon. Oh my, it's good! The chicken salad sandwich is probably the best chicken salad sandwich I've had in awhile. So flavorful! My husband thought his reuben was awesome also. And he enjoyed the beers he ordered. Best kept secret in the Cincinnati area. My fiancée and I came up here to New Richmond after seeing reviews for the restaurant. We ordered the 16 oz Ribeye special that was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Seared crust medium rare cooked to perfection! I'm biased with my steaks and this is "the best" cooked steak on the east side of Cincy. Homemade carrot cake was an added bonus with an in house pastry chef. We used to love this place but we will never go back. The server was so grumpy it was palatable. We waited forever to get seated and it was not busy. We waited even longer to get drinks. They were out of half the menu but didn't bother to tell us until we we finally got to order. We had to ask for water three times before it came and that was after our food finally arrived The food order was wrong and it took another 30 minutes to get a new order. we didn't even get an apology. The hubby would say 5 stars because he had the crème brûlée French toast and couldn't keep his eyes from rolling into the back of his head because they were so good. I had the biscuits and gravy and it was just ok. Not enough flavor in the biscuits. Could use some butter and or salt in the mix. The gravy was decent but again could have used something. Valentine's plans for 8, reservations made to have dinner and hear our favorite band. Day of, I get a notice through the band's Facebook page that they have been canceled by the venue!!!! Did the venue let me know? No. Called to cancel reservation and express my displeasure with the situation (they effectively cancelled Valentine's celebration for all of us, not likely able to be recouped at all day of) and was met with "oh they'll be back next month." Hardly helps. Management very mindless when it comes to their customers. I hear they got a duo to play-- doubtless a cheaper route today, but really not in the long run. I can't say enough good things about this place. My family held my grandmother's celebration of life here last weekend. Carrie was very attentive to all our needs. She even provided flowers day of the event to us. She and her staff were so kind and patient with us during our event. Stopped in for lunch at this local cafe and it is on the OH river! Beautiful location, in a nice little town. I had the rueben sandwich and it was wonderful, the rye bread was lightly toasted but soft the rye taste blended great with rueben ingredients very good sandwich! Daughter had the steak quesadilla this ain't no taco bell special big as a plate and loaded with steak and cheese. Wife had the mahi mahi fish tacos. Slaw had some sriracha heat but excellent blend they do no disappoint they know how to make fish tacos. The atmosphere is light airy and friendly like all American small town. read more

This is my second time here, not any better, I guess some people like it, I'm not one of those. $21.00 and change for one sandwich and one Pepsi split is a LOT of money. The sandwich was ok, nothing as good as I can make at home but ok, the cole slaw is extra even though the waiter said it's included, I couldn't eat mine it was so bad. I hat to leave bad reviews for local places, as I want to see them succeed, BUT. I understand that's is really hard to do things in today's world, but it was the same some years ago. I love local eateries. Add a great view of the Ohio River and a picture perfect day to sit outside and bingo! A great time celebrating my son's birthday. I was pleasantly surprised by the menu offerings. Much better than the last time I visited, a couple years ago. I've learned new owners took over recently and they really stepped up the game. I'm not the pickiest of diners and was very pleased with my chicken ranch wrap. My son ordered the turkey club and was quite pleased. Our server was personable and efficient. In light of our birthday celebration, my son was offered his choice of several delicious sounding desserts. He got the Key lime pie but opted to take it home. This decor of this place is simple and does not lend itself to the idea that the chef here really knows how to cook! This is a little gourmet treat disguised in a greasy spoon building. I had salmon and it was yummy with a sweet chili flavor. My boyfriend had the strip steak special and his steak was perfect.
