    Front Street Diner. Monroe, MI

I tried the meatloaf which I wasn't impressed with. I think it was and tasted like a frozen dinner meatloaf for double the price. Not mention I think the Mashed potatoes might have been instant with canned gravy. I certainly would not purchase this item again. The salad that came with my meal was good. I have heard they have a good breakfast so might try that soon and add on to my review. The restaurant shares a bathroom with Subway next door through a back door. The restaurant was clean except for a back room with door open looked filthy. Probably should keep that door closed. I thought they were to be a little pricey for the quality of food received. Fair size in portions. Staff was friendly.

Fish, fries, green beans, and tarter sauce. With two slices of Lemmon.

Harbor Hook and Grille - Tuna Poke Bowl

Location, location, location! Located near a hot fishing spot, you'd expect a sea fare and that's…read morewhat Harbor Hook has. Not only Great Lakes fish but also ocean poke and calamari. This is not the type of restaurant that you'd expect in a coastal fishing village. My four star rating is based on the above and value. As pictured, the cuban sandwich and onion rings. I prefer battered rings, but these were breaded and seasoned. They were the best breaded rings i've ever had. The cuban sandwich was traditional with ham, pulled pork, cheese and pickles. It wasn't pressed, but that didn't affect the taste, just the appearance. The servers were very attentive and refilled my iced tea three times. Very clean eating area and restroom.

We chose Habor Hook & Grille. This restaurant sits right across the street from the harbor, hence part of the name, and the food pics looked appealing. It was almost 9pm on a Tuesday night, so there weren't many people. It was rather dark when we entered, so I inquired if it was too late to get dinner and we were told the restaurant was serving until 10pm. The restaurant and bar area was a large open area with very high ceilings. There is an outdoor area for seating and what looked like a bar area as well. I asked about daily specials and our server told us there weren't any due to the Harbor Hook & Grille just implemented a new menu with several new offerings. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the Calamari appetizer (served with a thicker marinara sauce), the Harbor Cubano sandwich with fries, and the Tuna Poke Bowl. Tha Calamari was good, but could've used some additional seasoning as it was somewhat bland. The Harbor Cubano sandwich was also good - roasted pork, sliced ham, Swiss cheese, dill pickles, and mustard. There wasn't much mustard if any, so our server offered any of their sauces - a garlic aioli was selected. This sandwich was served with fries. I am not sure if it was because we arrived so late or what may have happened, but these fries were somewhat mushy and limp. They may have been sitting for a while or undercooked. The Tuna Poke Bowl, in my opinion, was the highlight of our food selections. The flavor of the tuna, cucumber, carrots, radishes, and pickled onions were topped with a spicy sauce that paired very well with this dish. All-in-all a decent dining experience. I would've gone with 3.5 stars if available in Yelp! scoring.
