When hubs searches for restaurants, he relies on his Google Maps, zooms in and picks a place. Not Yelp. Hey....I'm not criticizing, just telling the facts. And so, on a lazy Sunday, hubs and I landed at Front Street Tavern- on Front St in Kingston, NY. Front Street T.'s setting is relaxed and roomy with seating in every square inch- but not in a stuffy way. It serves up hearty starters, salads, main plates, etc. with drinks being more casual than mixology-heavy. We dove right in for main plates+drinks for our quick lunch. My Lavender Lemonade with Tito's was more refreshing than a knockout punch. But it was my Eggplant Parmesan that knocked me off my feet. Possibly the thinnest eggplant slices I've had to date. This was definitely cut out for me- has a tasty, only-tomato sauce- without all those seasonings, has no breadcrumbs on the veg with the perfect amount of Parmesan cheese. This is literally one of the best eggplant parms I've ever had! Service was great the entire time from our guy Trevor. This was a quick and tasty escape- so come hungry and explore the menu.

Stopped in on a Friday afternoon and had an excellent experience. The bartender was super helpful helping us figure out parking as the payment app was down for street parking. After that, we had drinks (well priced!) and started with the burrata. It was excellent, the pesto was super tasty. I ordered the smashburger which was perfection, gridded patties with a potato bun, melty cheese, carmelized onions. My boyfriend enjoyed the rigatoni vodka, though I found it a bit spicy. It's a great vibe, chic but cozy,

In short this looks like a historical little pub that we had no huge expectations for and were blown away! As one of our party said this place was punching way ahead of its weight class. It doesn't settle for the usual pub fare and uses high quality freshly made ingredients. To that point some of the items on the specials list were not available Because they ran out. That might seem like a negative but it was because everything seemed to be made fresh daily. Our party enjoyed the schnitzel (including the 'best mashed potatoes ever enjoyed in a restaurant'); delicious bolognese (perfect portion /excellent ingredients). The waitress was helpful and the ambience was very nice. Definitely some regulars at the bar indicating it's worth re-visiting!

Lavender lemonade on the rooftop deck!

My drink was delicious (lavender lemonade). I want really hungry so I just got the fries. I didn't really like them even though the bar recommended them. The aoili wasn't good. I don't like my fries over done and brown. Needed more topping. The service was good though. Views are nice. Limited rooftop options in the area. When you walk in you go past the bar and to your right to go upstairs to the patio.

This restaurant is located in Kingston on N. Front St. we were really up for dinner at this hour on the rooftop deck. Drinks were in order, appys and entrees and more drinks. Giles was our server. The appy here is worth noting. "Tavern Eggs", bacon bedeviled eggs. Excellent. The entrees were very good plus. The atmosphere is a definite plus here. Reservations are strongly recommended, since people are slowly branching out into the public. I would rate this a 3+.

By seeing the mixed reviews we were a little skeptical at first. But this establishment surprised us. Once entered the dining room, we felt instantly relaxed. Chill vibe with jazzy music in the background. The guy at the front who seemed to be the manager/ owner was very warm and welcoming. Our waitress who also ran the bar was busy the whole time but was friendly and punctual. Nothing felt short. Impressive professionalism. Then it comes to the foods. The kale salad was simple but perfectly prepared. The best part that I appreciated the most was how thinly the veggie was shredded. It was like kale spaghettis. Not a lot of kitchens would spend time on cutting food into smaller sizes. I had fish and chips as my main. The portion was very generous. There were two big slabs of fish like burritos. The fish was so succulent and the crust was so thin that each piece broke into halves as I picked it up. It was probably the best fish and chips that I could remember. The next thing is a little odd the say. The condition of the restroom of a restaurant reflects how good or bad the management is. At least that's how I see it. At this place? I enjoyed my potty break. Nonetheless the price was fair. Not because the town is a little touristy but for being within the metro area, it was very reasonable. One last thing, we stopped by this town twice during a ski trip and visited two different restaurants. This is place was definitely the better choice.

This place is a very popular in Kingston. We called ahead of time to try to make reservation, was told that we won't have any problem to be seated. As we got there they told us only has table as the bar upstairs, we were seated upstairs but the heat lamp was not working and cold outside so they brought us to the bar downstairs. A little unpleasant experience at the beginning. The bartender was super friendly, served both drink and food for us. I had clam chowder for appetizer, my soup was not hot, more colder than warm. Told the waitress, she replaced a new bowl that's perfect. Didn't like the mussel that well, just personal didn't like the Tomato based mussel that overpowered the flavor. Porterhouse is large and perfectly grilled, perfect to share. If you have big appetite you might be able to finish by yourself, I think the meat itself is not 20oz, it's still manageable.

Kingston has a fun, walkable downtown section with lots of shops to explore. We did this and then stopped at Front Street Tavern for dinner. Lots of good options on the menu but the whole table landed on the pork schnitzel. This was a good choice, with two thin cutlets breaded and topped with a mushroom gravy. The sweet and sour cabbage was an interesting and delicious side. Service was exception with the server and host checking on us several times and engaging in conversation. Very personable.

Our trusty Yelp app led us to this historic building and restaurant. I'm really glad we came to see some truly great architecture and learn some cool history of life before these United States. Even though the British tried to burn it down during the Revolutionary War, the family restored it to previous glory and it remained in their possession for over 200 more years! Now let's talk about the restaurant experience.... We were seated immediately and given a choice of indoor or covered outdoor seating. Laura came to get a drink order and offered some kids specials. She also put in our daughter's order right away so that she would be occupied and well fed. A chicken quesadilla with fries won her over and filled her up nicely. A bowl of New England clam chowder to start for me followed by a delicious Mushroom Omelette special. So fresh and tasty. The Mad Ukrainian ( formally MR or Mad Russian until the war broke out) had a delicious Reuben Sandwich with fries and a Garden Salad. After the salad and a half sandwich, she decided to save some room for dessert at another place nearby. Pair that up with a couple of local Beers and some soft drinks and coffee and we had an enjoyable lunch. Pricing is excellent compared to home prices and we ate with leftovers, drank, and got a historical glimpse back in time for less than $70. Home run in my book!

We enjoyed the Figgy chicken sandwich (fig jam, plentiful greens, cheese and chicken, bun could have been better quality) with salad (pretty fresh), and the Caesar chicken sandwich with fries. The server (owner?) was very friendly and explained the menu, saying specifically that the chicken sandwiches are made to order. There were only two other occupied tables on a Saturday afternoon and the food took a little while to come out (not very bad but not super fast). It also seems like a place that should be crowded but wasn't. Coffee was self service. They also had a pumpkin pie in a plastic container (didn't look homemade) in the front. There's a little children's play area in the back. And the unisex bathroom was very large. It's located on a street with lots of shops and other eateries (pizza etc).

Unfortunately, the pictures+reviews on Yelp are disappointing enough that I almost talked us out of coming here. Hubs still wanted to try it. We were pleasantly surprised. The Bowery D has two flrs. You can sit downstairs- which is used for mostly for events- but we were told most people head upstairs and that's what we did. The main dining rm is carpeted, spacious and has a decent-sized bar. The first thing we noticed was the nice seafood smell in the air. So why come here? Raw oysters for one. Also because hubs has had Lobster Newburgh on his mind lately and the closest thing these folks offer is a mixed seafood Newburgh. He went for it. Result? He liked it. My Swai fish was tasty, though I was expecting something a bit flashier than sweet potato fries. My Jamboozle cocktail didn't have any oomph so I stuck to water after that. Service was great and the food was good. A nice surprise for a spot that doesn't totally shine on Yelp.

This whole time, I really thought this place was inside a cozy hotel about 2 blocks over. Guess you learn something new every day. We pulled up on a Thurs. around 4 with no res. and got seated real quick. Restaurant K. is airy, chic and gives a relaxed vibe. The menu is on the smaller side, but honestly, there's something for every eating style. We kept things light instead of diving into something heavy. Our spring greens salad was really good: hefty mound of mixed greens, lima beans, string beans and a hint of dill to make everything pop. Hubs had the double-stacked burger with white cheddar on a potato bun and loved it. I had high hopes for the hush puppies because they sounded amazing on paper- but they were doughy than corny and threw me off. Then came dessert. Again- sounded great on paper. It kinda feels like desserts get a "reinvented" treatment here(?). For instance, the strawberry shortcake was deconstructed: a few chunks of white cake, some diced strawberries and whipped cream. Totally unexpected. I ordered the 'Fun-Fetti Dunkaroos' with madeleines because they caught my eye, but they're smaller than standard. The food isn't bad at all. We were just caught off guard by how some of our selections were prepped. What really saved the evening were the cocktails. They were beautifully made and had a lot of strength. No watered-down nonsense here! Plus, our server Karina(?) was super sweet.
