Had lunch here today with two friends. Food was great. Salsa and chips - fresh and delicious. Burritos, tacos, refried beans --- all terrific. Waitstaff courteous and attentive. Cheesecake Chimichanga for dessert was delicious and more than enough to share. Definitely going to plan a return visit. Next table was served a Taco Salad - definitely enticing looking. read more

Always warmly greeted and seated promptly, the chips are super fresh and the salsa is awesome! I have tried the quesadillas, tacos, and chimichangas, all of which were excellent. The kids menu is fun and my daughter always likes her meal. They put a sombrero on her head for her birthday and sang to her, which she loved. We also try to hit mariachi night when we can. I went there for dinner this weekend and it was delicious! First, when we walked in they greeted us as "amigos", I like places that stick to their themes so that was fun. When we sat down they presented us with a basket of chips and a bottle of salsa to hold us over while we waited for our meal. I had a mango margarita ($7.00) that was awesome and the grilled chicken quesadilla. The quesadilla was cooked perfectly and came with sour cream and avocado salsa. It wasn't huge but it was the perfect size for me to eat and not have leftovers to carry away. My boyfriend ordered the "World's best tacos", it came with 2 tacos (beef, I think? I didn't eat them I don't remember). And for someone who could eat me out of house and home he was very full after the 2 tacos so we were both happy. The decor is beautiful, every square inch of this place is decorated. The service was very prompt and friendly. We had multiple people asking us if we needed more chips and salsa and everyone that walked by asked if everything was okay. When people were leaving I noticed that they not only wipe down the tables and seats but also the salt and pepper shakers, very clean! You can definitely see the pride of ownership of this place just by looking at it, and the service is so great. i would recommend 100%! For whatever reason I didn't expect much from Frontera Grill, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the charming atmosphere and delicious food served here. The portions were large and reasonably priced. I had a chimichanga and it was served with a wonderful guacamole. The service was extremely quick but a bit impersonal. Since this restaurant has changed owners, I have noticed many differences. The service has gotten worse, the food is just okay, even the drinks have changed and I just called in an order to go and they won't answer their phone! My husband and I dined at Frontera on a Sunday for lunch and we were bitterly disappointed. The "best taco" was disgusting! The ingredients were not fresh and I could not even eat a second bite. Said restaurant is also overpriced for the quality of food. Pictures on the menu are in bad taste to begin with, but the photographs on this menu were repulsive. On a higher note, the service was acceptable. We will not return to Frontera. read more

I like this place and my kids do too. Great margaritas and the salsa is pretty good too. Servers are always friendly and it seems to be busy. The Mariachi band is pretty awesome too! The entrees are hit or miss for me...I usually go for the vegetarian trio but you can tell that it's stuff that's reheated or premade because a lot of the times I've gotten it something is cold on the inside. read more

Great Mexican food, great service and a pleasing atmosphere. I went here on a weekday for lunch with a relatively large crowd and no reservation (13 people). They seated us within minutes and provided excellent service, bringing out fresh chips, and bold salsa right away. The chips and salsa refills kept coming as they took our orders. They even brought out some spicier tomatillo salsa when they noticed us putting hot sauce in the tomato salsa (which was already decently hot). The tomatillo salsa was incredible - if you can stomach the heat, the flavor profile could be described as fresh and rich. The meals came out quickly. I got a vegetarian burrito fresco and it was superb. It was a fork and knife affair and the flavors were again rich. I put some of the tomatillo salsa on to get a little more heat, though the burrito stood just fine as it came too. I thought the plastic drinking cups and plastic salsa carafes were out of place - glass would seem more appropriate for a restaurant of this caliber. Although they have a vegetarian section on the menu, I thought it could have used a little more variety, and maybe provided some options to make them vegan. read more

They have the best steak fajitas I have had since Double Door was open in Springfield, MA. Their fried cheesecake dessert is to DIE for! We've been many time since they opened and are quite pleased with the meals and service. I'll be getting the steak fajitas everytime we go, I found my fave! Thanks, Frontera! read more

The prices are affordable and they have a huge selection of margaritas. The fresh made salsa is good but very mild (better mild than too spicy I suppose). Have been to his restaurant twice and have had the same issue; staff not knowing the English language. First time I advised them of my peanut allergy and the waiter brought back a wine list and the second time my girlfriend asked a ground beef burrito ( because she does not like chicken) and we get a chicken quesadilla. Needless to say I love authentic approach they are trying to Achieve , but there staff should be better at understanding the customers orders. I will Not be going back, at least Taco Bell hasn't let me down yet for Mexican food in Springfield. read more

A little challenging to locate, but the food is worth it. Chips a Salsa upon arrival, GOOD fresh salsa, warm chips, good start. Tried the philly steak rolls, they were OK but not special. Had the combination plate for lunch, carnitas enchilada, chicken burrito, and beef taco. The star was the chicken! Moist, great spice. Refried beans were well seasoned not to much salt just right. Long and short of it is, next time in the area and want Mexican, I'll be back. read more

If you're in Chicopee and looking for good Mexican/Tex-Mex this is the place to go. It does get a little pricey but the food will not disappoint. When I was there they had a live band that roamed around the place playing at every table and helped add to a pleasant evening out with the family. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. read more

Had Dinner tonight (TUESDAY NIGHT) which by the way is $1 Taco Tuesday Night in The Bar portion of the restaurant. Make sure you get there early as the place fills up quickly and everybody is ordering 3 or 4 tacos for $3 or $4 plus tax and tip of course. A great deal indeed. They do have Modelo Cerveza (Beer) as well, very nice. And, sometime next month (February 2018) they are scheduled to open the highly anticipated and highly awaited 2nd Location on Boston Road in the Eastern Portion of Springfield, Massachusetts. Make sure you check out the new 2nd Location once it opens up. The meal here was consistently very good as usual and the Owner - Frederico makes sure that the staff is doing well and that the patrons are happy. And we are happy indeed to go there, just about every Tuesday Night for Taco Tuesday $1 Taco Night. An event NOT to be missed. Stop on by for Taco Tuesday Night or any other day for lunch or dinner and enjoy a nice meal by a very kind and friendly staff that is doing a great job for the Chicopee area and soon to be Eastern Springfield area population. The SLOWEST service in America. Our waiter was so nice and accommodating but the kitchen so so incredibly slow. Don't know if I will be coming back. Waited over and hour for our seat and over and hour for our food. Not worth it. read more
