Dropped in for a quick meal. I've been going to Frontera's Mexican since I was in my teens, so didn't mind it when my coworkers mentioned eating here. It's in a strip shopping center and weirdly placed in the middle. Not a lot of parking space near the entrance. We were seated quickly in a booth and they brought us out the chips and salsa. They serve two different types of salsa here: spicy and smoky. The spicy was good, smoky was meh and the chips were decent. Our waiter was quick with everything and food came fast. I had the fajita quesadilla with chicken. It came out with a huge quesadilla and not cut into pieces. No sides, just lettuce, sour cream, some cheese and tomatoes (didn't look our taste like pico). I wasn't really a fan of how they did the quesadilla and I didn't like the taste, plus no pico or rice/beans with it. I wouldn't recommend it. 2.5 stars rounded up to 3 for the service. What you need to know: Big portions, mostly Tex-mex - so not super authentic, but still very flavorful, decent value for their staples, yet overpriced for any specials. Used to come here a lot in my high school days, and decided to order via UberEats today as I had a craving. Definitely brought me back - same great flavors. Food: Went with the tried and true xochitl soup and decided to try the vampiro tacos. The xochitl soup had great flavor that complimented both the chicken and the rice in it perfectly. The sliced avocado gave a nice creaminess to the soup and the added diced jalapeño gave it a nice kick. Perfect for a cold day. The vampiro tacos were ok. They came in a set of 3 huge tacos. The steak was slightly overdone, but still flavorful and very cheesy. I probably wouldn't order them again since they're not my style, but I can see why people like them a lot. Tons of flavors and cheese - who wouldn't like that? I got a bag of chips and salsa with my meal and the chips were perfectly crispy, while the salsa was top notch - full of flavor without being too much heat. Price: Ended up paying about $40 with tip and delivery fee included. Too much for what I got. The tacos were definitely overpriced at almost $18 for just three of them, but the soup was well worth it. All in all, this continues to be one location that seems to be consistent with their food. You won't like everything, but you'll find some consistent gems for yourself - like the xochitl soup for me. Definitely will be ordering from here again. read more

Wow! This place has really changed since the fire. Finally opened for business. Drive by on my way to running errands and just had to stop even though it wasn't a planned stop. So here are the changes for you old timers. Restaurant is totally updated to 2024 styles (see picture). Menu is really pared down (see picture) but the good news is they still have the crazy taco and the wonderful tocayo salsa. Yummy! The chips get served different (they are tortilla strip chips) and at lunch they gave me a sample dipping tray (see pic). The new patio is fabulous but HWY 78 is soo loud it really distracted me and I don't think I will choose patio seating again because the noise was over the top. Not Frontera's fault. I like the combo 1/2 booth/chair split they have all over the restaurant. Plus size people choose the booth side not the chair side. If you weight more than 150 lbs don't sit in that chair you've topped out the rating. The legs are these little spindly metal twigs and they will make the skin slide off your teeth when you drag them across the floor. They look fantastic but I don't see them lasting. I sat at one for 3 1/2 seconds and decided to get up while the getting was good. I've posted a few pictures so you can check out some of the changes. I got the crazy burrito and could not finish it. Service was great. Food was about the same as before. So I imagine I will have to find my new favorite on the redone menu. They do have a lunch menu too. If management is listening the parking spaces are too tight you need wider parking spots pls. I'm constantly seeing the driver having to pull out of the spots to let passengers get in and out with damage to their car or others. read more

So, I was using the bathroom and the door couldn't open. I desperately screamed, but nothing worked. After over like 10-20 minutes, someone opened the door. I couldn't open it from the inside but only a person can open it from the outside. Also, the bathrooms are super tight so I felt like I was about to just pass out. read more

First off the service was awful. I would've been more understanding if it was busy but there was only another lady in there. The salsa is thick and spicy which was very good. I over heard the waitress talking to the other lady and they had accidentally ordered her food to be to go and it was the wrong order. We found a hair in the nachos. The fajitas were dry and tasteless. They forgot the tortillas and then when reminded to bring it again they forgot. The whole time we were there the whole rang multiple times and I didn't hear anybody answer it once. Later that night we alllllll got sick from the food there. It tore all of our stomachs up. Came here for a baby shower. Service was slow and 4/10 you could tell the waitress was overwhelmed and couldn't handle the large party even with the help she had and she never came to check on us after we got our drinks or food . A lot of people including myself said the food was subpar, not good, or nothing special. The margaritas were salty or tasted like straight juice had to send mine back and just decided to get a water. We've only ever done togo, which is nice you can do it right on the Yelp app. Just a warning that my app shut down and placed a order and when we came there were two orders for our party but thankfully grub hub was able to fix it. Yesterday, I tried their pineapple pork tacos (4 tacos with rice). Mo got a chimichanga (again) and we tried the nachos (don't do it for to-go, it's not good to go). Bad bad experience....let me say im not trying to tell anyone else not to patronize this establishment. (this was my 1st visit and I don't know how they normally operate) I just want to share my experience. Upon entering in this restaurant around 1330 hrs. Today Monday afternoon. There was one beautiful sister waiting in the reception area, I greeted her as I normally do I love and respect all people even those I never met before. along with this lady waited I for about 5-10 minutes. During this time we were joined by 1 more brother and 4-6 people of European decent. Then the ushers came out greeted the Europeans have them seated, leaving the 3 of us non Europeans standing around without even a welcome greeting. We have been patronizing this restaurant for approximately 20 years. Yesterday Cinco de Mayo was probably the worst Mexican restaurant experience we have had around the Atlanta area. Food Fajitas deluxe Tasteless , Service Horrible, Slow, unattended, had to get up and talk to Mgr and items needed to start meal took forever. Food was getting cold waiting. I have never wished, nor wanted someone to lose their job. However I'll make an exception for the young lady that was working the front today. She is the one how put me on while for 21 minutes and hung up after I had driven back and requested to speak with her manager. I placed an order through DoorDash for pickup. Steak crazy taco no tomatoes, I'm allergic. I get ground beef crazy taco covered in tomatoes. Check your food before you leave if you're doing carry out. My food was replaced by the manager. When I tell you, that I have never been more infuriated by a restaurant, I mean it! I was on hold for 9 minutes, to make my order. When the female returned to the phone, she apologized for the wait and put me on hold again, for an additional two minutes. She returned to the call and I made my order. I ordered the Chimichanga, with steak and extra jalapeño cheese. She said ok, and it will be ready in 15 to 20 minutes. I said ok, and I hung up. As soon as I hung up, I called back immediately, because I wanted to change the steak to pork. (I forgot that I couldn't have anything chewy, because of dental work.) When I called back, I said " Hi, I just called and placed an order, and I want to change it." She said ok and put me on hold. I was on hold for 7 minutes, when she came back to the phone. I then again, explained that I wanted to change my order. Y'all wanna know what she told me? She said that it was too late to change my order, because they had already started making it. I looked at my phone, noted how long I was on hold, and told her that that was their fault. Before I allowed myself to get out of character, I told her to cancel the order. She said ok. I was so disappointed and beside myself, that I called back so that I could speak to the manager. Y'all wanna know what happened after that? Ok! I'll tell you. She put me on hold for about 30 seconds, came back to the phone, and said "the manager said she is busy and to call her back in 10 minutes." I WILL BE DAMMED y'all. Never again, will I support this Frontera. Poor customer service, unprofessionalism, and disregard. The sad thing is, I was going to give them a 3 star, because this is the 3rd time that I ordered from them, in the 9 days. I hadn't got around to it. The food is ok! I do like their Chimichanga, because it is full with meat, and its fried! I know that this restaurant has potential. Unfortunately, the people who work there, don't give a damn. The food was not great at all. My luncheon fajita chicken was horribly dry and had no taste. The chicken tasted like bag strips of chicken. I was given the fajitas without tortillas and when I asked for them it took forever for them to bring it to us. We also found an eyebrow hair or eyelash in the nachos. When we got home all of us had stomach aches from the food and was not feeling well at all. The service was also horrible. The server took forever when we asked for anything and would often forget the item we asked for. She was also not very welcoming and had an attitude. read more

This was a most joyous night. I apent time with my family at this resturant. We calles ahead to book a reservation. They explained that there would be a 45min wait. We arrived and were seated immediately. We had a party of 14 including kids. The staff was very accommodating. She was bery attentative and got our ordera correct. The food came out hot and we had no issues. We ordered drinks, and the drinks were good. This was not my first time at this location. I would revisit here again. Had girls night on a Friday night. Parking was limited in the front and it was a little scary in the back parking lot. Table was ready as soon as we walked in. We were seated next to the kitchen but It wasn't a bad sight (we didn't care). Our server was Danielle she was really pleasant and down to earth. We ordered drinks. Overpriced and unimpressed. This is not based on just one meal. I ate lunch here twice. On my first visit I had the fried fish tacos. The battered cod was slightly overcooked and I am convinced it was inexpensive pre-battered frozen fish. They put an overabundance of slaw on one taco and none on the other two tacos. I am not above moving the slaw myself, but it was not a nice touch. I was recommended to have the Steak Burrito al Carbon, so I decided to try again today. The steak was way over-cooked; to the point of being dried out and crunchy. I believe I could have done just as good at Taco Bell for much, much less money. There will not be a third try. read more

We live close and used to go fairly regularly--had coupons as incentive. The last few times we've gone, we noticed if they stick you in the back room you won't get good service. It appeared off duty employees were seated back there and everyone was socializing having a great time--unless you were a paying customer. Like many Chinese restaurants that pop up in shopping centers, Frontera is like every other Tex Mex restaurant I've been to as far as food selection goes. The menus all look the same except for the name of the restaurant. Weird, huh? I usually have the Speedy Gonzalez, which is a taco, an enchilada and rice. The taco shell was stale. The meat in the enchilada was dry. And, the rice was a little crispy. I choked it all down with a few glasses of water. Service was nice and quick. The guy at the table was holding up what looked like a blonde hair ball. The whole table didn't want to finish their food and the manager came out to offer them dessert in which they all passed on. Then he said he'd take money off their bill. I only ordered plain queso cheese dip and chips, hotdog and fries etc. Things you can see clearly into. The cheese dip was the most plain dip I've ever received from a Mexican restaurant. It's a chain restaurant which is okay but I think we were hoping for something a little more authentic. It was a Sunday evening, so we weren't prepared to be driving all around town in search of it either. Overall, I wouldn't go back there again and don't really care for Mexican food esp. We sat at this frontera for over an hour and a half waiting for our Uber eats order. They simply yelled names out the door to say which order was ready. It was busy, and it's understandable that it was a backlog. If you are a call-in or a take-out, it's a bit better, because they prioritize those before delivery apps, such as postmates and ubereats.
