This location was okay. I have been here before, but they seem to have renovated the place. I actually don't like the new design. I know this place isn't exactly Mexican or Latin, but I associate it with such and the decor here is very plain. The staff was very friendly. The music seemed Spanish-American fusion. I liked it. We used the yelp offer on free cheese dip which was AWESOME! They have great cheese dip. Then we ordered the 2 for $20 which is more than enough for 3-4 people. Definitely more economical! We got the taquitos as the appetizer which I liked, but only when I dipped it in cheese. They are bland plain. I have a thing for QT taquitos and nothing seems to ever compare. We got fish tacos and pork fajitas for our entrees. The fajitas were good. I liked the pork. It was seasoned and cooked well. The fish tacos on the other hand... not so much. I was not a fan. It was very bland. I tried to put lettuce, rice, beans, anything to try to make it taste better but it did not seem to help. I love their rice and beans though. All in all, it was adequate. I understand that there's no need to waste the other food items, but come on, man. I used to eat here at least weekly, if not two or even three times a week. Last night we went to dinner at Frontera and we were disappointed by numerous things. The service first of all was poor we were seated but no one came to get our drink or food order for a while. The second thing is once our drink order was taken there were several people in our party who didn't get the right drink. The third thing is that the waiter didn't write down what each of us ordered, there were 16 people in our party. Our food orders were wrong and they brought the wrong food out to each person. They also took forever to make our to go orders. The fourth thing was that the to go food was soggy and cold and not packaged properly. I don't usually write such scathing reviews but we were extremely irritated with the overall bad experience we had at this restaurant. read more

The environment is very clean and the staff is friendly. It took about 1 minute to be seated. There was maybe 3 tables occupied around 9 pm. It took 5 minutes for the waiter to ask us for our drinks and about 30-40 mins for us to receive our food. They didn't get my wive's right. They over charged us on her taco salad. They forgot her Mexican Coke and forgot most of her ingredients in her taco salad as well. We ended up paying over $50 for a regular Mexican dinner. Let's just say we won't be going back. read more

Restaurant was very clean and we went pretty late- 45 minutes prior to closing but we were still treated very well! I was at a carnival nearby and we wanted a good margarita so I pulled out my handy dandy yelp app to find a Mexican spot nearby that was open late. Frontera was open till 10:30 and it was 9:40 so since it was only 5 minutes away we went there. Plus, Yelp had a free dessert offer with check in at Frontera- score! They had live music until 10pm and surprisingly it was good. It wasn't too loud either and we sat literally right in front of the guy that was performing. Our waitress was very patient with us as we kept asking about different drinks and getting her opinions so we started with a few drinks. My friend and I ended up doing for the 2 for $20 deal which is rare in Mexican establishments. We chose queso dip for an appetizer and I had the pork fajitas and my friend had the beef and cheese nachos. I ordered fried ice cream as the free dessert- my absolute favorite! The portions were huge! I showed my waitress the free dessert deal on my phone as I ordered and she said it was no problem. We ate, got the to-go boxes and our waitress brought the check- but no dessert! I purposely didn't eat all of my food to save room for my fried ice cream. I asked her about it and she said she would have to check with her manager to see if I could apply that deal with the 2 for $20 deal. I didn't care if I had to pay for it- I wasn't leaving without my fried ice cream! She came back like a minute later and said it was still complimentary- sweet! The fried ice cream was honestly the highlight of my experience there. The fried batter reminded me of a funnel cake and the ice cream- while really hard was very flavorful. I tipped her very well for her willingness to go the extra mile to make sure we were happy and stuffed, especially since we didn't leave until 45 minutes past closing. For the price at lunch, you'll have a hard time doing better than Frontera. $7 gets you 4 delicious pork/pineapple tacos. I'm 6'3" and around 250 lbs, and it's a filling plate. My girlfriend usually gets the chimichanga, and it is definitely a solid chimichanga. They also have 2 kinds of great salsa that come with every meal. Add on a reasonably priced and pretty well made margarita, and you have yourself a great lunch. This is not a restaurant to expect ridiculous quality from, it's just a really good average mexican restaurant with great value. read more

My wife, my mother-in-law and I have been visiting there over a year. I went in tonight as my wife had late work mother in law was busy with other things, so I am by myself. I asked for the bar tender to place the TV on CBS (something a third grader could do) and as she is trying to place the TV on the channel (which she never achieved...come on...one channel, its easy) another server comes up and references me as a "Puta" with the assumption I don't understand his language, apparently. Wrong! I did. The server trying to put the channel on CBS even giggled at it. She heard the reference. She later denied even talking to him (of course)..... haha liar! I told the manager about it, nothing. Even still required me to pay afterwards. Go back where you came from if you are going to behave like that. It was a simple channel request. No need to insult a paying customer that comes in EVERY WEEK! Guess what, I won't return to that garbage place. Has roaches also, as both my wife and I have witnessed them crawling on the floor and walls. Booths are loose, tables are out of balance as well. Crappy management = crappy people and service....Beware! I won't return. read more

I decided to give this Frontera another try after a poor experience many years ago. Unfortunately this visit was another disappointment. There were remnants of a quesadilla on the floor in front of our table and trash all around the restaurant (I can't even imagine the kitchen, if this is where they seat their guests). It smelled like feet from the moment I walked in. The server was nice, but the food.....tasteless. I had the veggie fajitas, which is what I get at every Mexican restaurant but I could not stomach the over ripe half cooked veggies they served me. On top of all of this there were strings of chicken in my black beans. While I am vegetarian that is not why it bothered me, it bothered me because it gave me a glimpse of carelessness that goes on in the kitchen, and I will not be back, sorry to say. read more

Amazing x 3 - that was what I got for my order of Chicken Fajita Quesadillas. Normally orders to go at Mex restaurants are not as appetizing as you would have when you dine it. Had dinner last night here and had a less than mediocre experience. I ordered Steak fajitas. They came out just warm no sizzle at all and with sauteed onions galore and 1 green pepper strip! I had perhaps 1/2 tsp of sour cream for the 3 flour tortillas that came with the dish. I had less than a 1/4 tsp of guacamole. I asked for more guac and showed the server just how little came with the dish. And also showed her the one green pepper strip and asked for a proper serving of those as well. It took 5 mins for the guac and after 12 mins I asked her for the green peppers. She looked very surprised (like she had forgotten) and came back 5 mins later with the peppers and apologized for the delay, by this time my steak was cold. The beans and rice were also presented just luke warm. We ordered 2 house margaritas and it took 22 mins. for them to arrive! Now, this is a Mexican restaurant, they serve these all day long. It was not busy, no wait , and appeared to have plenty of wait staff. When the check arrived, they had charged me extra for the guacamole . I objected and a manager came over to say , "Well we did not charge your for the green peppers" . We had a discussion about that and the lax kitchen staff and it was removed from the bill. I have NEVER written a review before, but felt like this was worth reporting. So beware. I have been there before, but for everything to be substandard, perhaps they are slipping. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible and it's sad because its right in the neighborhood and is quick amd easy, but we just can't go anymore. The service was slow. We waited for almost 10 minutes until our server came to our table. We ordered drinks and cheese dip and waited for her to come back to take our food order. After an extended waiting period she still didn't come back and I gave my husband my order amd went to use the bathroom. I use it and there's no soap in any of the soap dispensers. I let an employee know and wait for soap to arrive. After 5 minutes I ask another employee. No soap arrives. After 5 more minutes I ask a third employee who says they got you covered and another 5 minutes no soap arrives. I ask for a manager and nothing happens. Finally almost 5 minutes later someone comes with another worker holding the soap. She asks me to hold the door to the bathroom while they carry the soap in. IT'S THE MANAGER Y'ALL! And that's all she says to me. Then here and the other employee struggle to open the dispenser for another few minutes because she doesn't know how to do it. They get it in and leave. As she's walking out she still doesn't acknowledge me so I ask "are you the manager?" She says "yeah sorry about that." 20 minutes later I finally wash my hands at a restaurant. I get back to our table and thr only thing there is the queso. And that was brought by the worker who clears the table. This is totally fine, but our server never came back to take our order. My drink STILL wasnt there almost 25 minutes later from ordering. My husband told me he had to try to find our server to flag her down to take our order because she didn't come back to our table. Even when she came back into the room she didn't glance at our table. I got my purse and told my husband we weren't do this and said let's go. On the way out the door our server saw us and called out "so do you want me to cancel your order?" Umm yes, definitely yes. read more

This is a convenient restaurant for us because of it's location. Easy to get to and grab a meal. The food is basic and is your average Mexican cooking. The service is friendly and well paced. The only problem is the drink prices. Make sure you ask for what sizes the drinks come in and what the prices are. Recently my friend in the Marines came back from deployment. I decided to take treat him to dinner to thank him for everything he's done and to catch up. We originally wanted to go to a different restaurant, but they were closed due to an emergency, so he decided to stop here since this place was very close to where we were. We walk in and the place is nearly empty. It's 8 pm and only 3 tables were occupied. It took 5 minutes for a waitress to seat us. She seemed uncomfortable around us. We sat down and she asked us for our drink order and then came back with the drinks and chips. It then took her 20 minutes to come back and ask for our dinner order. This place was not busy and both of us were very hungry. Fine. We order. My friend got a steak bowl and I got a vegetarian bowl. Another 20 minutes passes before the waitress comes back to the table with our food. I find the meal flavorless and can't finish it because it was so bland. My friend only ate the steak from his meal because the rest was not to his liking either. This place wasn't busy at all, and it took the waitress another 40 minutes to come check on us. I proceeded to ask her for the check immediately, which she did not hesitate to bring. I paid in cash since I did not want to wait for my card to be handled. We both left the restaurant unsatisfied. There are better places to eat in the area. I would not recommend this Frontera location. read more

The bread was mushy from the watery chicken which tasted like it came from a can. We were never offered more chips even though we had plenty of salsa. The diet coke was more like plain soda water. Our server Jasmina was very sweet and attentive. I just wish they had better options for the regular size tacos. The "street" tacos are smaller and you can get 6 but the meat options weren't what I wanted and it does not come with rice or beans. A steak taco and a shrimp taco with rice and beans (both charged as sides) is what I had to order and that ended up costing WAY more than my fiances entire meal and he also had WAY more food. Not to mention the shrimp taco was green and tasted awful...I literally spit it out in my napkin. Jasmina took it away and brought me another steak taco. The sangria was awesome a the chips and salsa were also very good. Just wish there were more reasonably priced options for regular sized tacos, besides the basic chicken/carnitas ones. read more
