Flew Frontier for first time about a month ago. Very bad experience. I was charged for additional bags during my flight. I questioned frontier at airport when I was checking in. I was dismissed like I was the most incompetent customer and was told that he could not help me. I was given a number to call for the error. I emailed my complaint and asked for a refund. Frontier declined my refund and indicated that bag fees are final. I had to pay those extra charges out of my own pocket. I will never use frontier again. Customers beware. They see revenue first and customer satisfaction LAST. read more

This airline is the epitome of false advertising and hidden fees. They show up as the lowest fare until you go through the process to book. Then the highest additional fees of any airline kick in pushing the fare higher than competitors. Not to mention their "discount den" savings membership costs $60/yr and doesn't even lower the fare to what is advertised. Classic bait and switch. And if you're planning on getting on the plane with anything but the clothes on your back, you better be prepared to pay an additional $35 for a carry-on bag per flight. Literally showed up to be hundreds less than Delta for flight with connections. By the time it was all said and done Delta nonstop ended up being well over $100 cheaper per seat. This is the worst experience. On Feb 21, they Cancelled the flight from Raleigh going to Las Vegas. No notice or information sent to us. Their reason is snow in Las Vegas. DO NOT FLY WITH THIS AIRLINE!! My husband his brother and wife and I were supposed to leave for Mexico at 6am; arriving at 4am on March 14th from RDU, that quickly turned into 8am and so on. At noon they told us our flight was canceled, giving us no option for a refund or another flight UNTIL SUNDAY; it was Thursday! We lost everything $5,500 (flight and resort included) ! With no explanation, they gave us a measly $10 meal voucher & a $150 voucher to rebook with frontier please tell me why I would even waste my time rebooking a flight with frontier ? I flew Frontier for the first time last night, and I have to say you get what you pay for. There's added fees on top of pretty much everything, so yeah the tickets are cheap but they'll nickel and dime you all the way to your destination. On top of that, when you check your bags they aren't guaranteed to even make it to your destination. That's what happened last night when Frontier managed to lose mine and 15 other people's bags. Then they didn't have a representative even at RDU to help us just a piece of paper on the door with a phone number on it. Do yourself a favor and not fly Frontier. read more

So I show up to check in for my flight. They don't check you in until exactly 2 hours before takeoff time. I was 15 mins early, so okay whatever I decide to go have a smoke and chill. Bags checked in and I go through security and start relaxing until its boarding time. 710 boarding time and I'm hovering around the gate looking at the airline people go in and out of the gate so I'm thinking we are starting up soon. Nope. Suddenly the departure time is hanged to 1100, no announcement or anything. So people start going up to the counter, I'm close by so I just listen. The girl at the gate giggles, I can't make this up, giggles and then says "well...". Fortunately another girl shows up and, still no announcement, starts telling people that the pilot says they need to change the fuel filters! The plane has sat there all night and now they are changing the filters...?! Frontier starts with F which stands for F-no I won't be flying these Fools again. ** update** Now the flight is cancelled at 0900. Funny thing is their system only lists the flight as delayed. So trying to get things settled on the phone is right out. This airline obviously belongs to Walt Disney because this is a Mickey Mouse operation. read more

I thought the prices were too good to be true. And yes, they are. When I initially booked my flight, I was able to choose seats. However, 2 days before the flight, I get an e-mail stating that I did not choose seats. Not only that, they charged me more $ for an end seat which is what I initially reserved when I booked the flight. All seats require additional fees ranging from $26 to $90 round trip. Furthermore, the price for luggage was increased. When I initially booked, the price for luggage was $60 round trip. However, 2 days before the trip, the price was jacked up to $76. There is NOT full disclosure of all these fees. I'll be reporting this to the Attorney General's office. DO NOT BOOK WITH FRONTIER. DECEITFUL PRACTICES AND A RIP OFF. I am sure I could get more affordable options or at least transparency with another airlines. read more

I can't say enough that this is by far the worst airline ever. I'm going to make a very long story short..... I had planned a trip 2 months prior, booked and paid for. My husband and I had not had a honeymoon, so this was our very first ever trip together in 6+years of being together. The first flight was cancelled after many hours of waiting in the airport. The staff worked feverishly to figure out how to rectify the situation with over 150 passengers standing by, and created a flight for the following day. We went home and took the 1.5hrs trip back to the airport to leave the following afternoon and made it to our destination. We lost one full night and day of our room, which we still had to pay for, as well as the resort fee imposed by the establishment. Also lost, one full day rental of our car. We enjoyed our 2.5 remaining days to arrive early for the return flight, on a Friday night, to have the announcement that the flight had been cancelled. AGAIN. Can't make this up!! So, the line forms and the announcement from Frontier is that they apologize for the "inconvenience", but they would not have any flight available to rebook and they would only offer a voucher for $500, ($250 within 24hrs, the other $250 at some point within the week), to assist with however passengers can get home. In addition, there were no hotels available, according to 2 stewardesses that had flown in to work this particular flight, and everyone was essentially stranded. There was panic and the staff were instructed to just advise everyone that it was out of their control. I witnessed families with children being turned away, as well as many individuals. This whole experience was a complete nightmare and we ended up losing a lot of money that was totally unnecessary. Frontier needs to seriously step up, or fold. read more

I wish I could give them less than a minus ten! This is my first and last time ever to take this crappy unreliable airline. I'm here and I can't drop my one bag because they won't take it until 7:30 pm so I'm stuck in a small part of this small airport! I really enjoyed my flight on Frontier. I was nervous to use them. I got a low fare and added a bundle for assigned seat and bags. My totals ended up being a little lower than with other airlines. What I really appreciated was the leg room and the promptness. read more

Wow...does corporate ever check up on their employees? Definitely recommend coming in real early in the morning and seeing how your employees are performing. They literally blocked out a whole crowd of us trying to figure out where our suitcases were, pretending that we weren't all there. They continued their conversation while keeping their back to us. Everyone from the Fresno flight to Raleigh had their suitcases lost somewhere along the flight. Better yet, they don't have a basic tracking system to tell anyone exactly where their bag is at any given point in time. What year is this? I can't imagine the amount of waste just from losing the Fresno trip's bags alone. read more

I would give them a ZERO if possible. I booked a flight and never received an email to check in online with them. Because of this I got to the airport early to check in when they told me they had given away my seat because I had not previously checked in. I was an hour and a half early to my flight and they had already given away my seat, unbelievable! So then I attempted to call them and I couldn't get a real person, I asked for a representative and it hung up on me. If I could give a zero, I would. The worst customer service. My first time flying Frontier began with a 2 hour wait on the tarmac. My return flight was even worse. Arrived at Raleigh airport at 9:30 am for an 11:30 am flight only to be told that it was delayed until 1:00 pm. No notifications! Only to be told it was delayed AGAIN until 2:41. Plane didn't leave until 3:22 pm. That's almost a 6 hour wait at the airport only to be told by the person at the desk to call customer service. Called customer service and they said to talk to the guy at the airport. Talk about giving me the run around. Hey but they did give me a lunch voucher for $10. They can keep their $10 bucks and keep their airline. Looks like I'll be paying a little more for a Southwest flight. No thanks Frontier! My first AND LAST flight with you. UPDATE....upon landing.... Worst flight experience - will never fly again. Wish we didn't have to use them for our return flight home. We were traveling with our 2 year old and 4 month old and there were several other young babies on this flight as well. - flight originally delayed an hour (it happens ) - all passengers board the plane and we are then told the plane had been flagged for maintenance for a few days so we were the lucky group that was forced to sit on it for an additional 2 HOURS before take off. Eventually water was offered at no cost but no snacks or apologies (Frontier at fault) - plane was not clean - disgusting gunk on the ceiling above my row, see picture (Frontier at fault) - rude flight attendants lying to passengers who wanted to sit in the many vacant seats for more space (they were told they couldn't move because of weight distribution - really? That's interesting when you can pick your seat and the plane weighs several hundred tons and you are not required to tell them your personal weight. In reality, the front of the plane has more expensive "roomier" seats) (Frontier has terrible customer service) - Frontier lost my $300 Britax infant car seat and their customer service was disgraceful. They repeated told me it wasn't "lost" but boarded on another plane. Made us go up to ticketing to report the lost item with an agent who didn't know what she was doing so we had to wait again on the rude managers and supervisors that gave us the run around in the first place. - After continuously being placated by their managers that we were being given a new car seat so I shouldn't be upset, we were finally given a new car seat which I have to say does not look any nicer or feel any safer than the box it came in. - We still don't have any updates or offers for them to reimburse us for our expensive lost car seat. I'm assuming it will be nice and beat up by the time it shows up if that ever even happens. read more

She would not survive COVID-19. I followed the advice of the CDC and canceled my flight scheduled to leave on 3/17. They refused to refund my money they refused to give me a credit on a future flight. A couple days later they announced across the board credits starting on 3/21. After an ontime Frontier flight from Raleigh/Durham to Trenton NJ, all those who had checked bags for the flight waited over an hour after deplaning to get their bags. No employee from Frontier could be found to tell us what was causing the holdup. Finally found out from a policeman that the baggage equipment was not working and it was being unloaded manually. So my advice to you if you do fly Frontier is do not check your luggage. Pay the extra to take your luggage on the plane with you. read more

Though when financially in a bind they offer low cost flight, its very disappointing when they change your flight and not willing to reimburse you all the money I paid them because they can't offer you an exchange flight on the same day or pay for a different airline to return on the date planned. Wow...I certainly will not be back. I flew from Rdu to LA with a 7 hr layover in Orlando. The trip to Orlando from rdu was the shakiest ride I've ever experienced. There were two points when people actually yelled out in fear. Also while landing on the runway it felt like we almost veered off. I overheard the woman behind me telling her friend that it was the worst flight she's ever had. Also I had fallen asleep during the flight and as the woman was coming by with the cart she came to my row which incidentally woke me up. She was standing beside me and asked if the row behind me wanted anything which they requested water I shook the sleep from my eyes and asked if I could have a water as well. COMPLETELY IGNORED ME. When she gave them the water I politely asked again assuming she didn't hear. NOPE. She was definitely ignoring me. During the lengthy layover I decided to get some work done. I got myself a coffee to be productive. When I got on the plane I realized what a bad idea the coffee was! And I think others had made my terrible mistake as well... this time the flying was great and we lifted off nice and comfortably. That was when I had the sudden urge to use the bathroom...I started wriggling in my seat as the attendants reminded us to stay seated until the light was off multiple times. Seeing how annoyed the attendant was due to a couple of people's bathroom emergencies. I waited and waited until I felt like I was going to burst. I tried to make eye contact with the attendant. No luck he kept turning away. I waved my hand. No luck. He was two feet away! Finally I just decided to use the call light. Looking exasperated he walked over. I very nicely asked when the light might be off. He said "I don't know I'm not in charge of that, that's the captain's decision." I asked timidly "not even a slight idea if it may be shortly?" Seriously after how much you fly you're completely clueless?? RICHARD WAS HORRIBLE. I lightheartedly confessed "I foolishly had a coffee right before boarding and I don't know how long I can last" he lashed at me saying "NEVER EVER TELL ME SOMETHING LIKE THAT. WE SIMPLY TELL YOU TO STAY SEATED. YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN DECISIONS. YOU'RE A GROWNUP." Jeez. If you don't care about us getting up to use the bathroom when the seatbelt light is on then don't be such a freaking jerk over the intercom. My wife was in Vegas to take care of her ailing mother. On her way home she gets to the airport 2 hrs early. She goes to the bathroom and the plan takes off early. The people at the counter were rude and bookers her on their next flight 24 hrs later. Refused to put her on another airline or upgrade her ticket or reimburse her in anyway. Just want to give my friends and family a heads up about the worst airline out there, Frontier Airlines. I have flown countless times in my life and this by far was the worst experience I have ever had. Not only did they treat me poorly, but they treated my service dog poorly. The only great person at this airline was the woman who printed my ticket and took my bags in Orange County (Shout out to whomever you are). Besides her, I had agents giving me attitude and making nasty comments about me. When we got onto the plane, I was still thoroughly unimpressed. The seats are extremely uncomfortable and tight, but I tried to make due and my dog did wonderfully. When we landed in Denver I went to the gate of my next flight only to find the agent sitting on the floor not paying attention. I stood there for a couple of minutes until she finally decided it was time to help me. I wanted to make sure that my service dog and I were all set with this flight and that we could preboard and get settled to be out of the way of the other boarding passengers. Her response "well we aren't even boarding yet, so it doesnt matter." Clearly we aren't boarding ma'am, it is an hour before the flight is supposed to board, but I wanted to be proactive and make sure Logan and I were all set. She continued to glare at me and so I decided to walk around the terminal because she was making it too uncomfortable to sit at the gate. I came back to the gate only to find another person being treated by the same gate agent and another gate agent. The other gate agent literally told the man who was panicked that he might have missed his flight due to the misinformation given to him by these same agents, "boy, you talk to much." She then proceeded to walk away and came towards me and said "Fuck people with large dogs, I hate dogs." She then turned around and walked the other way. The other gate agent was also cussing about me to her other coworkers. Yes, I have a large service dog, but that does not mean that you need to cuss about me to your coworkers or directly at me. Finally, once on board the flight - the flight attendants were rude and clearly did not want to be there. They treated everyone poorly, including me and my dog. The consensus from every other passenger I talked to, was that Frontier is the worst. We were all treated poorly by several people during our time with them. If you have any desire to have a somewhat decent airplane experience, do your best to stay away from this airline. read more

If I could give Zero stars I definitely would. I have been flying for work&pleasure for 14 years. This is the WORST airline. They offer cheap fares but with so many limitations and much longer flight times. You think you are saving money but at the end when your flight is delayed or cancelled (most often it is cancelled) you end up spending twice as much for another fare. I recently gave them one last chance and booked a flight but to see my daughter. Two days before my departure she ended up in the Emergency Room and I called in a frantic at 2:00pm to change my flight. No flights available that day, not even a late night time. I had no choice but to get a flight out on Delta. But Frontier would not give me a refund, not even when I sent them a copy of my daughter's hospital admission to the ER. Most of their flights do not have a return flight available or it takes over 11 hours to fly from point A to point B within the USA. Ridiculous! read more

As I am sitting here waiting for my flight, which has been delayed for a third time now (for a total of 5 hours), I thought I would go ahead and write a review, because I have some spare time. This airline is awful. This will be my 3rd Frontier flight, and 2 of the 3 have had major delays, and that is consistent with experiences of other passengers here and friends/family members, who warned me not to book through Frontier. Their seats are probably the most uncomfortable of any airline that I've experienced, and they nickel and dime you for everything, so the savings by booking through this discount airline are not as great as you would expect in the end. If you have an option of another airline, do yourself a favor and avoid the frustration of Frontier. One star is frankly a generous rating for their "service", but they didn't have a zero star option. read more

I was so looking forward to a girls trip to Denver traveling from RDU. However, Frontier didn't see it through. As my sister-in-law and I were on our way to catch our red eye, she checks the status of our flight... CANCELED!! WTF, right! We decided we were half way there we may as well just go and see what they have to say. As we walk up to the Frontier line it is two rows deep! So we wait in line for 1 1/2 hours to be seen by the Frontier staff at RDU ( they were wonderful). They proceed to tell us an email was sent at 3 am and went to everyone's spam mail! They also gave us the other options they had available. None of which would have accommodated our already booked plans! There was another airline going to Denver, which was a $900 flight! I asked the employees at RDU why they canceled the flight, their response was, "we aren't sure, we think it was the crew!" I spent an hour on the phone with their not so good customer service agent and the result got me no where! So because Frontier has unreliable staff; I'm out money, a fun trip to make a lifetime of memories on, a tank of gas, and a full nights sleep! We ended up canceling the whole trip, including the return flight with a different airline! Which Frontier will not cover! Even though the cancelation had nothing to do with me whatsoever and had everything to do with them! Here it is a week later and I've received no refund and vouchers as promised! I've called only to be told, "we process the request in the order they are received." I'd advise avoiding this headache and deal with a more reliable airline. I know things happen, and I would have been more understanding if there were a mechanical problem. I'm not very understanding of someone not wanting to do their job! read more

I am a loyal customer of a different airline but I am always open to a deal. I had a trip this past September (2016) where I needed to fly. Frontier offered a better price however I could only snag a seat on a flight home due to their limited flight options and them not offering a flight on the day I needed to go up. I figured that I would give them a chance since they had a better price on a one way flight. Things took a turn shortly before I needed to leave for the airport when I got a text from the airline stating that my flight was delayed by 5 hours. Not much later, I received another text from them saying that my flight was cancelled. Their only redemption was that they refunded my entire plane ticket cost w/o holding any 'fees' since it was their cancelation. On the many downfalls, is that they were not able/willing to get me on a different flight with them or another airline that night. Although I got my money back, due to their cancellation, I then had to pay TRIPLE the cost to get on a flight last minute in order to get home that night so I could get back to work which completely undid my attempt to be cost savvy. I could have saved that money in the first place just booking a round trip with my main airline in advance. Frontier's only offering other than refunding my money for the original flight was a voucher for another flight that is good for a year. Here's the problem, I am not a frequent flyer so the chances of me being able to utilize that credit is a negative chance due to the frequency I take trips that require me to fly. Even though the y gave me the entire cost of my flight, the chances of me giving them another chance or recommending them to others are extremely slim. read more
