Two holes in galvanized pipe. Line supplies outside dwellings and other water spigots
    Mary Ann H.

I left a 'beginning' review on our conversation about coming out to check a major leak to an outside of our main house, dwelling. Jeff from Frontier Plumbing, made a quick appointment with me, and was on time with his arrival. Understand all this was happening during the 'big snow' event of Jan 2017! Plumbers were not available for over two weeks, and I was on 4 lists! Jeff saved me from the wait. This was on Friday, and he would be at the house on Monday. He arrived in his truck, and we discussed the options of what needed to be done. I had previously found the major leak (thank goodness) in the main pipe to the building in question, and dug out the area for good access. I explained what I wanted to do, if the old leaking pipe could not be fixed. He said he had great experience with placing a 'Romac coupler' on old pipes in the past, but didn't have the correct size one with him. He didn't charge for the time to go out at get one. He was soon back, cleaned and cut the pipe, installed the coupler and had me turn on the water source, slowly at first. (He also told me this may hold for a very long time and noted that there was a lot of good metal still in the pipe!). NO LEAK! Then full force, after all faucets were open for air release. At the same time, this same unit's water heater was also replaced by another company. It needed a couple adjustments, which Jeff did. (Really, that screw driver he dropped by accident, behind the new water heater, and gone forever, wasn't my favorite!). But all was up and flowing very well. The water pressure was even better than before in the unit! (Must have been slowly leaking for some time!) I can't say enough about Jeff! He was a wonderful, experienced plumber. If you are looking for a qualified, reasonably price fellow, Jeff from Frontier Plumbing is your guy!!

Jeff took it on and it was during the winter months which means it was cold, wet, and muddy under our house.

Great experience with Sutherland. The guys came out and fixed a messed up tub drain in a few hours…read more They were down to earth and explained everything that needed to be done. They even gave me a few tips on another problem I was having. Definitely appreciate the small things like that. One thing to note is they don't do drywall so you might have to find another contractor or do that yourself. I don't mind if it saves me some money. Lastly, the price was competitive compared to other quotes I got. I'd recommend them to anyone. Honest company that does good work.

The water suddenly stopped running in my house - well, not exactly, it would run for a few seconds and then stop. I asked my neighbors and their water was all running fine. Portland Water Bureau said it wasn't their problem. So I called Sutherland Plumbing randomly, and we did some trouble shooting over the phone. It looked like it may be a VERY expensive issue in the pipe between the house and the street. Ti Sutherland found a time to come by, since this was kind of an emergency since we couldn't shower, and he found the problem in just a couple of minutes. Turned out it was only the HOT water that was being stopped, and it was a janky flood prevention device that had been installed with the water heater. The batteries died and it shut off the flow. Replaced the batteries, and boom! We're all fixed. Ti actually got a big kick out of the whole process. Solving problems is his bag. Highly recommend.

Needed new water heater, got quotes from Fusion and Home Depot. HD was 20% less BUT only quoted…read morethe water heater and the install with the caveat that any addition items or work would be added on. I've worked with HD before, and have had no issue, so I think they are fine I have no beef with them. Fusion gave a detailed quote of all items to be replaced and the model of water heater. The quote included new water hoses (stainless steel) , new gas hose, new earthquake straps, the addition of an expansion tank (which I think is now required for code). Everything that the job needed was on the quote. Baring unforeseen issues (which happen) I knew exactly what the cost was going to be. Some of the items may have not absolutely needed replacement, but you don't want a $30 hose to ruin a $800 water heater (which is what happened to my last water heater and why we are here today). The solution provided was complete. HD may have had a less expensive quote, but it would have gone up, so I think in the end HD was not really a better price. Given the good reviews online and detailed quote at what I felt was a fair price, the job went to fusion. From inquiry to initial response was very quick, a couple of hours maybe. All communication was timely. Install date was set for three days after my inquiry. The day of the install they were a little late, but I got a text communicating that and an arrival time. I appreciated that very much. When they showed John introduced himself, very polite, nice guy. Then they went to work. They completed the job in a few hours. They left the work area clean and removed the old water heater. The install was beautiful, I know it's a water heater, but damn it was a clean install. Fusion gets five stars. There is no aspect of this job that I can suggest a need for improvement. Price: Five Stars, since the price was close to HD, I feel that I paid a fair price Communication: Five Stars, responsive and let me know they were running late Install: five stars, you can just tell that they paid attention to detail and did a clean job. I feel that I didn't pay a premium for that attention to detail. Attitude: five stars, John's a really nice guy Thank you Fusion, I really appreciate the quality of the job you did.

Outstanding service, highly recommend this company…read more Details: We own and live in a duplex. This is the company we hired to install both water heaters (one in 2013 [gas], the other in 2019 [electric]), replacing the ones we inherited when we bought the house in 2003. We were impressed with their work on the replacements, and were again impressed with the work that happened this week. There was nothing wrong with either heater, but it had been a while since the gas heater in particular had been checked; we scheduled a service call, fully expecting to be told that the heater might need replacing due to its age. Jesse did an excellent, thorough job. He had to replace the anode rod which was full of minerals, but that was it. He did not tell us it was time to replace the heater, and in fact told us the heater was probably good for another 7 years and we could wait 5 years to get it checked again. He went above and beyond in making sure everything was working as it should (we have a hydronic furnace). We will continue to call this company for our water heater needs.

Also, we had to pay the full fee even though our hot water heater is less than a year and a half old. When I spoke with the manager he stated that because they did not install our hot water heater, our service was not a priority. We were also told that because it was so new we needed to go through this company buy this is not true. The warranty people stated any any repair man will do as long as they call them at the time of repair. If you are looking for a reliable company. I would not recommend this company.

Their quote came in the lowest and Brandon was extremely helpful on the phone, so I ended up choosing them. - The quote process was great: I submitted their online form, they gave me a call asking for more details, I sent them a few pictures, and they gave me another call with solutions and a quote. The quote also happened to be the cheapest of the 3 companies I got bids from. - The installation went very smoothly. I understand that direct vent water heaters are a little tricky to install, but Brandon installed perfectly. He arrived on time, got rid of our old water heater, and added a new water heater with several fixes: the overflow pipe now runs to the sink, he used a "flex vent" kit so the water heater can sit on the ground, and he put the water heater in a tray to reduce issues from slow leaks since I don't have a basement drain. - After the install, Brandon taught me how to change the temp / turn the water heater off / how to flush it / how to change the anode rod. Very pleased with the work and my new water heater is working flawlessly. The only downside was that there was no permit. I'm no expert on permits. Portland's website says that water heater changes require a permit. Brandon said it's a "gray area" for residential. I am not planning on selling the house and things looked good to me, so I don't mind too much.
