Ted, gave us the best quote on remediation and worked with my husband and I on different options to alleviate and remediate the mold. We were concerned because we had a baby in the house but did not want to break the bank but TruOrganic worked relentlessly with us. They were available day and night to answer all of the questions we had. The remediation took place and we have since run a repeat mold report with the outside company 1st Rate Inspections and once again the house has been restored to its original safe levels! In these tough times when so many of us experience weather-related damages (frozen pipes from snowpocalypse for my 80-year old parents), and all the contractors have long waiting lists and low service levels, TruOrganic is the perfect business to work with. There's a certain kind of person who knows their craft really well and has to execute to perfection to satisfy themself. That's who Ted is, and you can tell from the start-- his meticulous attention to detail shines, and it's great to get to talk with the business owner (i.e. the most knowledgeable person) about a job as sensitive as mold remediation at your parents' home. I called three of the big commercial companies, had 2 no shows (they're so busy, I guess?) and the one job estimator that came out clearly didn't have any knowledge beyond the surface (especially about chemicals and mold risks) and was barely trained on taking measurements--if at all. It still took a week to get back a cookie-cutter bid that didn't acknowledge the specifics I asked about in person. Ted came out and had a clear itemized bid to me the same evening. He went above and beyond to help as we navigated the insurance settlement process, and TruOrganic's rates ended up being really competitive with the cookie-cutter companies that use cheap/toxic chemicals. Ted's care, effort and thorough supervision of work in my elder parents' felt as if a family member was doing it--culturally sensitive. I requested to see an itemized bill, they have yet to send me an itemized bill. The manager I had been speaking with the entire time stated that they charged insurance for some things they didn't do, they don't seem willing to work with me at all on trying to apply some of that money that they robbed from my insurance towards the deductable. They overcharge completely as I had done all the work prior to them coming and cleaning as they took over 2 weeks to clean my home. Please tell me how it costs 2600$ to clean dishes and wipe down a couple counters. They didn't even take care of the smell in the townhome. Overall a terrible company business model that really needs to work on customer relations and being honest with all parties involved. If you are going to overcharge my insurance company at least take it out of my deductable.

My experience is with their flood mitigation service and especially with Jordan Callahan. Is their estimate, they had that they were going to remove the drywalls to let the wood dry properly. The week they worked on my property, they didn't communicate with me for anything other than asking for my insurance information. Then at the end of the week, when I asked how things were going, they said they didn't remove the drywalls since they were able to dry in place. They charged me more than the estimate saying that their machines took longer to dry. After I sent 3 contractors for the construction phase, they all highly recommended to remove the drywalls. The pictures also indicated growing water spots and black spots in the wall (sharing pictures). After I talked to one of the SERVPRO guys (not Jordan) about this, he said that they actually should have removed more of the flooring too, but they didn't because they didn't want to inconvenience my tenants. He said he's sure that there's water or moisture under some of the flooring even now. I was so shocked to hear this because my tenants weren't even supposed to be in the property. Nothing was communicated with me! They did a poor job leaving my property in a terrible condition. I had to spend more money and time to make it right.

Within 45 minutes of my call, the amazing team of Jason, Maria & Carlos arrived with all the equipment needed to remove everything wet or damaged. That allowed humidity into the walls and caused mold and paint blistering around my front entry door. I turned again to YELP to locate a company to remediate the results and find the cause or source of the problem. Alan's Restoration had the highest number of 5-star reviews so I took a chance and contacted them - now wary of the highly rated YELP reviews. Turns out this outfit is worth their 5-stars - and then some. EXCELLENT customer service including accurate and frequent communication, fast response, quick turnaround, friendly people and most important - when a substantial problem (that they did not create) developed during the project - they came back after completion and corrected it the next day. And I'm sure it was probably at their expense. Not many companies like this around anymore. I know that for sure from nearly 70 years of experience with 50 in project management. It's a real crap shoot these days when contracting with anyone on YELP or pretty much anywhere else, as I unfortunately found out with that cable company that caused this entire problem.
