My review is based upon two orders. My first order was for a party at my house in which I order the following flavors: Mango (not on the menu), Strawberry Shortcake (also not on the menu), Apple Pie Apple and Cookie Dough. I also requested that as a topper for half of the cupcakes they make me a custom turtle out of fondant. These ladies did a wonderful job. The turtles come out wonderful. The only negative is the cookie dough cupcakes they were more like a maple syrup cupcake. I could not tell it was a cookie dough. I would not order the cookie dough again. I froze 12 of them and saved for my mom and grandmother. They were in the freezer for 3 weeks and unfroze with no issues. My mom and grandmother said they were delicious. My second order was for a baby shower on the 28 September. I ordered the red velvet, coconut and strawberry delight. These cupcakes were on their menu. Everybody loved these cupcakes. My favorite was the coconut. Everybody raved on how delicious the cupcakes were. They were delicious, moist and not overly sweet. Based on my two orders I would have to say that the apple pie apple and coconut are my favorites. I will definitely order for these ladies again. Thanks ladies for making both my events a hit. The interior of this bakery is very cute! The service was extremely friendly and I was helped immediately. I bought four cupcakes: chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, and happy cake (looked similar to yellow funfetti cake). They were all amazing!! Each had a moist cake with some of the best cupcake frosting I've ever had. My favorite was the red velvet cupcake, the cream cheese frosting was to die for (beats all other cream cheese frosting that I've had from other local bakeries). The location of this bakery is slightly hidden but it's definently a place to try, their decorated cakes on display also looked amazing, I would definently consider ordering from them if I needed a cake in the future. read more

Let me start by saying I'm a loyal Sprinkles fan and am usually wary of cupcake shops, especially ones that seem focused on creating pretty cupcakes. From my experience the prettier the cupcake the less tasty for whatever reason. Surprisingly, this place doesn't disappoint with the taste of the cupcakes! Plus they're cute to boot. I purchased mini cupcakes to get a little sampling of their flavors. Happy cake is great but chocolate was my fav with red velvet a close second. Worst cupcakes ever. I wish I didn't have to say that. I honestly feel bad saying that but I also couldn't believe that anyone could mess up a chocolate cupcake. They were bland and extremely dry. The frosting was so sweet that it was practically inedible. We had kids with us and they didn't finish them. Pretty surprising since that never happens. Very disappointing that we can't find a good cupcake bakery around (besides Sprinkles of course). We had also tried the previous owner (Cupcakery) and didn't think they were that great but compared to these they were awesome. By the way, yes it's a cute shop but what a lack of creativity on the new owners. The font and decorations are the same as they were. Customer service was shocking. We walked in 40 minutes before closing, no other customers in site, and the ladies were not friendly at all. I have never experienced that before. I just assumed maybe the two were having a bad day but really, you are a new business, shouldn't you just suck it up and smile at everyone walking in your door? From the start when we did our tasting, Lesley was so welcoming and fun to work with--always super responsive via email as well! Overall I was incredibly satisfied with Frost it. We booked them for our June 6th wedding and they provided us with a beautiful dessert bar! I regretfully did not try anything at the wedding but it was beautifully put together and everyone seemed to really enjoy the treats! I checked into Frost It for my wedding cake at the recommendation of my wedding planner. Booking the consultation appointment was very easy and they were willing to work with my schedule. That and the very friendly service is the reason for the three stars. Corey helped us figure out what sort of design we wanted and was very patient with us. Which was very much appreciated! However, when it came to the cake tasting I was very disappointed. The cake was dry and mealy. And we had to pay $25 for the tasting - which was only four cupcakes. In the store they sell for $3.50 a piece. Seems like a huge wedding up charge. The nail in the coffin was when we got the quote. We are estimating 175 wedding guests and decided to do a very simple small three tiered cake and 2 sheet cakes. The total was about $1100. I was blown away. We have since found another bakery that will do it for half the cost. read more

I purchased a dozen cupcakes from here after buying a Conejo Deal. The place is very clean, and the staff was very nice. However, I found the cupcakes to be extremely expensive, and they just didn't take very good. They look beautiful, but I have had much better and at least $0.50 less expensive per cupcake. We were SUPER thrilled with both! We got so many complements on our cake at the wedding and Leslie was such a pleasure to work with! Leslie asked us to bring pictures of what we wanted and together we designed a beautiful cupcake tiered design. But, despite being beautiful, their cupcakes are amazing!! They have an uncanny ability to remember faces and names and on your second visit, you will be remembered and welcomed as a regular. I have so many favorites, S'Mores was so ooey, gooey, sweet and moist, their coconut has a hint of almond and is so moist it could arguably be the best cupcake ever, the lemon curd in their lemon cupcake is perfectly tart and sweet at the same time and then there is the butterscotch! Vanilla buttercream dipped in butterscotch ganache! Shut up! I am so happy that these ladies decided to open a store front. I visit far too often and they always hold cupcakes for me if I call ahead, which again, I do too often. They are so creative in their flavors, not just offering vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, etc., but offering up fun and inventive flavors and they also take suggestions! I had contacted multiple cupcakeries in the Ventura area with little luck in customer service or help. I finally came across Frost it and contacted them right away after seeing their amazing selection of flavors. The ladies at Frost it Cupcakery are so accommodating and friendly. When we first met with then, they offered to drive down to meet us close to our venue (Maravilla Gardens) so we wouldn't have to battle traffic. They brought a variety of flavors to try and they were all SO good. When our wedding day came around, we were dancing most of the night and literally only had one bite of our cake (strawberry ribbon cake, so so good), and then got back to dancing. Well, between the hustle and bustle of the day and packing up our truck, our cake got left in our car :( I contacted the ladies and told them what happened to see if we could have a couple cupcakes sent to us, because we really wanted to have another taste :) Rhonda and Lesley went out of their way to get us a few tasters. We live over two hours away from their home base, and Lesley asked her daughter to meet me to drop off the extra tasters (to ensure their safe arrival, and that they didn't get ruined). OK. we do a quick search and our first call is to Frost It and Sarah picks-us(luckey us). Understanding on the phone, welcoming on a personal level and completely engaged in the situation. An hour later we are at the shop and making plans. We discuss options and costs and alternatives and endup with beautiful personalized cupcakes (i choose Trajan as the font on the cupcakes - no problem) and a cutting cake. Lesley at Frost It is truly as good as it gets. I called so many cake places and many of them wouldn't deal with me because my cake budget was under $1k. Lesley didn't care what my budget was, she set up an appointment for a private cake tasting, listened to what we liked and didn't like and quoted us very fairly. We expressed interest in filling our cake with Asian pudding which is something Lesley and her bakers have never made before. She never once discouraged us from this unfamiliar ingredient, was in fact excited by it. Over time, Lesley and her bakers worked at creating the asian pudding with the perfect taste and consistency, had us come back to make sure it was correct then ultimately married it with her awesome vanilla cake and created an amazing lego themed cake for us! It wasn't too sweet and was so tasty that many of our aunts and uncles asked if they could have the leftovers!
