My family and I adore Yogurt Mama! When the late night hunger strikes, we love to surprise the kids with a frozen yogurt trip- so the fact that they are open until 11pm is a WIN! I love that everything is kept quiet tidy. The yogurt taste great. They have tons of syrups and the usual "fixings". The only thing that I don't like is the parking, and it's nothing to really complain about. If there isn't any parking in the first lot, there is additional parking in the next. First off: Yogurt- I am a big froyo enthusiast and never have I ever been to a yogurt shop with as many awesome flavors as yogurtmama. I go in maybe every other week and it seems that every time I go, there is a few new flavors! They change out their flavors so frequently that you can never get tired of frozen yogurt:) I love how they have so many seasonal flavors as well; it really gets me into the holiday spirit when that time of the year comes around. Secondly: Toppings- hands down the most toppings available of any yogurt store I have ever been in. They have everything you could possibly want from fresh fruit to cheesecake. I HIGHLY recommend trying the lilikoi sauce!!! Third: Employees- The girls at yogurtmama are always so sweet and cute. Most recently Lily Maero was my cashier and we had a great conversation. The register was unfortunately broken....but her sense of humor and quick math skills made the situation much more pleasant. Maybe they should try i-pads instead of cash registers. Fourth: Boba Teas- if your not a yogurt person, try the boba drinks! my all time fav is the passion fruit with jasmine tea and extra boba. The boba is so soft and sweet and the tea is spot on! I love this place. My favorite is the pineapple yogurt. Mixed with the salted Carmel. Mmmmmm so good. And the toppings, they have great topping options. Im a chewy chocolate brownie kind of gal. So the brownie bites and also chewy cookie bite are a win for me. Pineapple froyo doesn't sound like it would go with those toppings but yummmmmmmooooo I love it! There's tons of selection to choose from, fruity to candy to bubbles (what ever those things are called). I like that they have gloves to put on before you make your own yogurt. It tasted sweeter than other places, too sweet for me. Everything seemed clean til the employee placed my spoons on the dirty counter right in front of me. The employee accidentally knocked down my yogurt and was very apologetic and I made myself another one. She had already rang me up and it was pretty expensive so I made my second container with less yogurt but she didn't weigh my second yogurt, she just kept the price the same. Came here at 11:40 with only a couple people sitting enjoying their froyo. Upon entering there were no workers so I guess they were in the back because they only appeared a little while after when we were ready to pay. I like that the sample cups are placed in the front so that we can just grab w/o having to as. Other than that its just your typical self serve froyo joint. There were only a few flavors available since less than half were not in service but I did like their mac nut flavor since you cant find that anywhere else. The flavor of the yogurt is pretty sweet but still a-ok. The consistency also didnt help since it was watery. They also have a wider variety of mochi and some dried fruit toppings that other places dont have. Overall im glad I gave it a try but theres better places closer to home. read more

Every once in awhile I get a sweet tooth and I want something that will satisfy that without making me feel like I wasted 2 weeks at the gym. FroYo typically does the trick & so I looked on Yelp to direct me to a spot that was nearby. There were a few spots located in Kailua but I liked the name "Yogurt Mama" and that it wasn't too much of a detour. The spot is next to a Walgreens and there was plenty of parking. I entered and saw several flavors that I actually wanted to try before I committed. That never happens. I tried the salted caramel and it was too rich for what I was in the mood for. There was an Acai-Blueberry and it was too tart, the Plenty of Cookies and Cream was perfect. When it comes to toppings there were a lot...IF you like cereal on your yogurt, which that's not what I prefer. I like fruit, and those options were rather lacking. I did get some lychee poppers and blueberries and was content with my creation. If we end up living over here I'd come back, but otherwise I'm glad I ventured into this place and tried it out. read more

I brought my Mini Me in with me after disappointing her that I had my schedule mixed up on a play date. This was one of the cleanest Fro Yo places I've been to. The cashier was nice and constantly cleaning all the spouts and counters when there was not customers in there. It was pretty inexpensive per ounce. I spent $3 on my daughters. She is a plain Jane strawberry girl, but I did get her to let me try the pistachio in hers. Both were great flavors. They have the typical toppings as any other Fro Yo place on island. This place is really cute. But don't let that fool you. The design is a bit corky with its multi color paint splatter that covers the wall and furnature. In the back is a small play section so children can play and read while parents and friends share a relaxing conversation at the community bar or on the fluffy couches. For those with a bit more work to do there is wifi so you can stay connected or finish that last bit of homework before the next school or work 3day. Now for the reason we are all here. Coming from Colorado, we are no stranger to the yogurt scene. We couldnt wait to sink out teeth and tongue into that creamy goodness. Unfortunately, that was not what we got. Though there is a huge selection of toppings, the yogurt selection was limited to basic flavors that were watered down versions of iced milk. It was very disappointing at best. Either the kids working behind the scene didn't know how to do the mixture or they were taught to add more ice and water to stretch the mix as far as possible without serving ice water. Either way we were eating water flavored milk or whatever that was. Fortunately, as i mentioned there was a large selection of toppings to save the day. The cocoa puffs took me back to my days in grade school, which was a nice treat. Last was the end of the line where the cost was outrageous. The option was to sell a kidney to pay for it, or run out the door without paying. Thank goodness they had a kidney broker on site to cover the cost. The scar is healing fine and the one kidney is keeping me alive. Sadly, we will not return. The cost was $25.00 for a pint and a half of iced milk with a few cocoa puffs, gummies, and squirty balls. We were so impressed with this place!It was open during the covid 19 and had hand sanitizer and gloves!There was water with infused pineapple and more choices of toppings than any other place we have ever been too! There was also an array of flavors and the option of using a departed to have more than one flavor of ice cream in a cup. So, I basically had two different types of small sundaes all in one! While yes their yogurt is better then what is served at frost we have to remember Hawaii is still a little behind and WILL catch up and improve. Cute place with bright colors and 3 flat screen TVs. They leave the sample cups out. Most of the different yogurt flavors are all white in color, so I am thinking they don't use artificial colors, only artificial flavoring? Self-serve at 42 cents/ounce. I went there last night, and there was over 7 girls (and one boy) working the counters. But all were kids that looked anywhere from 14 to 18. Some of them were eating from the cereal containers that are out for the customers. Kinda weird...like I'm at someone's house who has a lot of kids. Anyways, lots of seats and tables. Very clean. Our 2 little boys were given Yogurt Mama gift cards for their birthdays. So, after a long day of them being super good, my wife promised them they could go get ice cream with their cards. When she went to pay, the folks at the register say "we are not accepting gift cards" at this time because that system is down. To make matters worse, she had accidentally left her wallet at home. She tells the kids the bad news and like any 3 and 5 year old who have been promised something all day they start crying. In a panic she asked to speak with a manager to find out if there was anything she could do.. it's not like she didn't have money, she had the gift cards. She even offered to leave them both the cards (which were probably worth $20), but they refused. She ended up taking two crying kids and walking out empty handed. What happened to customer service?? How about... "we are so sorry for the inconvenience, your kids ice creams are on us". How much would that hurt the business? Is Yogurt Mama that financially strapped?? WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! Was not a very good frozen yogurt place. The people were very nice and willing to help! But the flavors and the taste of the frozen yogurt were not my favorite. I'd recommend menchies or somewhere else instead. It was also very soft and melted within two seconds probably because there was no a/c when I went as well. This place was recommended to us by a really yummy seafood joint across town, and though it was 20 minutes away, we thought we'd take the detour back to our hotel and give it a try. I'm really glad we did. Frozen yogurt is frozen yogurt... but their flavors were one of a kind. (Coming from the mainland, that is.) We really enjoyed trying them all, it was hard to pick which ones to get. The set up is standard, though I like how they organized all the toppings. There was a large selection. My daughter had a field day there. I was compelled to buy a t-shirt because I like their logo so much. A cute little girl with a bandana covering her hair. What amazing service along with delicious yogurt! We came and tried to use a gift card that we had gotten years ago. The cashier tried to process the gift card and couldn't get it to work. She then called the owner and he wasn't able to get the register to accept the gift card. He then realized that it was a gift card that was issued by the previous company who had owned the store. He explained that after they bought the store, they continued to accept the old gift cards for several years. Unfortunately, we were late and out of luck. We were bummed because we had more unused gift cards at home (on Maui). Although it wasn't the owner's fault, he apologized to us several times. Finally, as we were leaving, he gave us a new $20 gift card and wished us a happy new year. We were all blown away and touched by this very kind act! I think I've said this before and I'll have to repeat myself here. Hawaii doesn't have a whole lot of fro-yo options. That being said, Yogurt Mama was pretty good. My only reason for not being thrilled was the service was bad, the price was a little higher than other places. The taste though, was pretty good and they certainly had a plethora of toppings. If I'm in Kailua again, sure I'd make a return visit, but it wasn't one of those places where I would drive out of my way to seek out. read more

Was waiting for the bus outside of the place when I decided to pop in, mainly because I had to use the bathroom but also because it looked interesting. At first I wasn't quite sure what kinds of foods/goods were sold but upon looking at the menu I realized that it's a froyo place that also serves coffee and milk teas. In an attempt to buy something that could be quickly consumed, I got a strawberry milk tea (with boba, of course) and used the restroom while I waited. It was ready for me by the time I exited the single bathroom, and I took it outside to enjoy. Now, I was thinking of giving Frost only 3 stars because I wasn't a huge fan of the way the milk tea was served -- liquidy instead of blended -- and the drink didn't have much flavor. It was good, kinda like strawberry Nesquik, but not something that I would pay $5 for again. There was more ice than necessary, which watered down the flavor even further. Despite this, I am giving Frost 4 stars because the girl who served me at the register was very friendly, and she made sure that the boba was good enough to serve before letting me order a milk tea from the menu. read more

Dunno. They did carry the typical vanilla and chocolate and strawberry. But yeah. Kinda miss places like Yogurtland in LA where taro and lychee yogurts are standard. And, man... at 42 cents an ounce... for real? Used to FroYo at a fraction of that. But, nevertheless... I don't want to be a complete hater. If you enjoy a relatively healthy refreshing treat after a fun day at the beach, Yogurt Mama is the place to go in Kailua. It's a healthier alternative than say, Cold Stone, but the best part is the it's soooo good. They have a variety of yogurt flavors like mango, banana strawberry, kiwi, and even plan vanilla. But the best part are the condiments. It's the only yogurt place on Oahu with flavored mochi balls. They have every mochi flavors you can imagine: coconut, strawberry, chocolate, etc. Of course they have fresh fruit condiments like pineapple, strawberry, kiwi, mango, etc. And for kids, they have various cereal and chocolate condiments. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Two medium size cups plied to the rim can cost you around 16 bucks, but it's worth it. Very, very tasty and refreshing. My only complaint is the limited parking space in the small lot ... about nine stalls for Yogurt Mama and several other stores in the small mini mall complex. Also the colorful stools at the tall tables facing the glass walls are weirdly shaped and not very comfortable. Went here a couple of times. All three times for the boba teas. First time I went, they put too much ice in my drink so the second time I ordered it without any ice which was ok. The third time I went and order without ice, they gave me a cup that is half filled. Boba was hard like they didn't cook it long enough. Needless to say I will not come back. It can get pricey as it is priced based on weight but I think it is cheaper than Menchies (where we normally go when at Ward). We used to come here all the time when it was Yogurt Mama for their milk tea with boba but it is very different now. I got a coconut milk tea with boba and it was half cooked and my milk tea was all cream, no coconut, no tea. Don't think I'll be back. Service was awesome though! read more
