The restroom now has a key and ruler attached as the key chain to open the bathrooms that are located inside. When you're done with the key it is returned back to the counter where the food is placed for pick-up. This is highly unsanitary and needs to be addressed asap by the owner. Old school burger joint with a small town vibe. The food was ok. I like that they have steak fries. The zucchini sticks and burgers can use some seasoning. The pastrami sandwich was good. I so appreciate how the staff here helped us out when we got there a little after 7:30 (and they close the grill at 7:30) wanting to order a hot meal. We had been on the road over 8 hours and were very hungry! Dylan, Ali and Chase were so awesome! They kept the grill open and made hotdogs, a cheeseburger, fries and a grilled cheese (which were really good!) and were so nice and friendly even though we were putting them out when they were trying to clean up before closing. Run down hole in the wall type place. Food was okay but nothing special. I definitely wouldn't need to go back for more. The place was kind of a dump needing repairs and a coat of paint and a good cleaning. Probably would have given one more star but the lady at the counter told us we couldn't get a grilled cheese for my daughter but that they could do a grilled ham and cheese. What? That made zero sense since their motto is everything made fresh to order. The wait was long and during a pandemic none of the employees were wearing masks or gloves. The floor behind the counter was filthy and several customers had to ask for a rag to wipe down their own tables before sitting down. Given the choice of driving through a Fast food place or going to this dump again, I'd definitely choose the former. read more

And both are very good and about half price as this Frosty Mill place!!!! So read this review and a few others and you will see not to waste your time or money! Well took about 30-45 min to get 4 burgers , fish sandwich, and chicken strips, the food was terrible, service sucks, the fish sandwich had so much grease, the bun was covered with grease, the bag the sandwich was in is covered with grease, I asked for another sandwich and they said they don't remake food and if they did remake it they would have to charge me again!?! Haha ok but you could give me a refund!??? !! Ok give me a refund ! Do these susanville trailer park trash stoned employees have any brains? I have been going to Frosty mill for 30 + years, I have been pleased with them in the past, but in the last year or so I have seen a huge decline in quality and cleanliness. I haven't wanted to do a poor Yelp on Frosty mill because this use to be a gem, kind of a hidden hot spot, but the employees have caused me to bring attention to what us really happening behind the owners back! I have sat many times waiting for my food and listened to the girls by the area where they cook and they are not nice talking, with foul language, and saying not nice things about customers, I have even seen some girls be rude to other employees loud and in front of customers to the point tears on the poor girl. I have seen food and trash on the cooking area floor when placing my orders, tables and waiting area very unclean, makes me wonder if the owner, Curtis really cares about the place anymore. I know most of the employees don't. On many occasions I have heard the cooks say take the phone off the hook they dont want to take any phone orders. There are a couple of girls with good customer service and but over all many seem to be rude and bothered by the customer's who are mostly nice and patient to these rude employees! I have loved the food, shakes, and ice cream. I bring my grandkids in many times a year but I am thinking of stopping due to the poor quality, like cold food, burnt food, or super soggy buns when it has no sauces on it. Sad to see an icon of Susanville decline like this. Didnt want to write a review like this but I never see the owner around anymore to talk with him. I think they need extensive training for their employees better on good customer service and cleanliness, if they dont like being kind, helpful or clean then go find a new job where they dont deal with the public. Wonderful little burger joint! I had a burger and fries and both tasted good. While there, I saw a swirl ice cream cone sold that was a foot tall! They then turn it upside down into a cup! There is no sign on the building so you will have to keep your eyes open. My favorite thing about it is it is not a chain! It's what you had in the 60s and 70s. Don't be fooled by the outside. I remember my parents taking me here when I was younger and it brings back good memories. Since we moved out of town, we don't go often but whenever we are in Susanville we stop here. The place looks the same as it was when I was young and the food is amazing. I love this place! I just recently got married and got my husband hooked on Frosty Mill as well. The Frosty Mill was a great find on a day trip! Standard fare for a local take on Dairy Queen. I don't tend to be too adventurous at venues like this, and my grilled cheese and fries were just what I expected - hot, a little greasy, and filling. Someone else in my party got a BLT that they really enjoyed. The ice creams and shakes all looked great but I was just too full after my meal to eat anything else. This is how I remember burger/frosty places being when I was a kid. The place was hopping, super popular with locals and out-of-towners. The food from the grill and fryer was great. The dipped cone left much to be desired, the chocolate just dripped off and seemed almost like a powder coat. The icecream itself was good. Very disappointed in this local ice cream shop and will never give them any business again. Went in there with our family of 8. They instantly looked annoyed at how large our group was. (We tipped them $5 directly after we paid and ordered) they made 1 person in our group and ice cream then made the next 2 groups in line ice cream before finishing our order. (Took then about 25' to make 2 milkshakes and 6 cones) the girls who work there are rude snobs. Go give your business to some other local place that actually appreciates it. read more
