My family and I stopped by for some dessert for the kiddos, they wanted ice cream and we were in the area visiting the Aquarium at the Arizona Boardwalk and we decided to go here. Both kiddos got the same thing, homemade vanilla ice cream with chocolate M&M's with sprinkles - they loved it, I tried a bite of it the vanilla was really good honestly! The service was great everyone was very nice! The ambiance is also cute I love it! I will definitely return!

This was such a great experience! The service was fantastic! The workers were so kind and you could tell they really loved their job. The ice cream was delicious as well! Definitely would recommend this for the family.

My daughter and I stopped by Frozen Penguin after visiting the OdySea Aquarium. The ice cream shop is located on the second floor, right next to the OdySea Gift shop. The ice cream shop offers a wide range of ice cream from regular ice cream scoops, dippin dots, brownie sundaes, ice cream cookie sandwiches, floats, and much more! We had arrived around 11:30 and there was only one other customer inside Frozen Penguin. My daughter had selected the dippin dots chocolate ice cream and I had decided to choose the Brownie Ice Cream Sundae with Vanilla Ice cream/Caramel Sauce. It took approximately 15 minutes to prepare both. My daughter enjoyed her chocolate dippin dots ice cream. The Brownie Ice Cream Sundae was disappointing though, especially for $8.95. The Brownie was extremely hard. It was too difficult to eat and inedible. The ice cream scoop was small and the M&M' toppings were stale. It's quite expensive at Frozen Penguin. If you're visiting OdySea during the summer, it might be worth it, if you're looking for a frozen treat.

Savannah was kind, happy and efficient! We all enjoyed our special treats! And will come back for more.

Amazing service! Thank you to Savannah for her patience! I had an indecisive 7yr old and she took her time with us. Pleasant experience from beginning to end. We appreciate you! & definitely recommend to friends and family.

We stopped by this ice-cream place after a visit to the odyssey aquarium. It was almost closing time and there were only couple of them inside. It's a regular ice-cream place with lots of options and toppings. But, it's so pricey for some regular scoops in cup and cones. We paid close to $25 for 3 people. I would have paid that for a special but for regular ice-cream it was a bummer. Sometimes u need to cave in for ur toddlers, but next time will be mindful.

    thanks for visiting sign

Cute little ice cream shop located upstairs from the OdySea Aquarium. Clean and friendly. Right now the elevator is not working, but there are stairs and an escalator. If you need the elevator I would recommend calling ahead to see if it is up and running. The regular menu is not active at this time. They have ice cream already prepackaged for purchase and ice cream sandwiches. Service was friendly. Everything was delicious.

Good variety of ice cream and cookies and ice cream sandwiches. Located in the Oydesea area with plenty of outside seating. Desserts and beverages are their specialties.

Ice cream sandwiches - what can be better on a hot Arizona day? We learned about this shop inside the OdySea Aquarium. And yes, we totally fell for the not-so-subtle ads for Frozen Penguin. Advertising works! In fact, you can actually measure your height in ice cream sandwiches (which you know we totally did). You can mix and match cookies as well as sample as many flavors of ice cream you'd like. It's just outside the aquarium's exit, making it impossible for us to pass by. I got a brownie, but my husband got the ice cream. You can definitely skip the brownies. The cookie sandwich with ice cream is where it's at!

A Nostalgic, Must-Visit Dessert Destination in Old Town Scottsdale…read more Our party of six visited the Sugar Bowl for dessert following a friend's birthday dinner. Upon our arrival, we were accommodated immediately and seated without any delay. The parlor features a wonderful, nostalgic aesthetic reminiscent of the late 1900s. Its menu is remarkably expansive, offering an impressive variety of options that goes well beyond what one might typically expect from a traditional dessert establishment. The service we received was patient and polite. While one of our table's orders was initially overlooked, the staff corrected the mistake instantly as soon as we brought it to our server's attention. As the name implies, the menu leans heavily into decadent, sweet treats; those looking for lighter or tart options like yogurt variations will find limited choices, but the indulgent selections are perfect for traditional dessert lovers. The surrounding neighborhood adds significantly to the appeal, offering an excellent Old Town atmosphere filled with art galleries, historic shops, and artifacts. If you are visiting the nearby Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA), enjoying dinner in the area, or simply taking an evening walk, I highly recommend stopping by the Sugar Bowl for its unique historical charm and experience.

I considered several options in Phoenix area to review, but I decided to go with the iconic Sugar Bowl in Old Town Scottsdale. It's been in business since the 1950's and has been a staple for 7 decades in Old Town. The inside is 1890's decor of pink & white wallpaper/decor like an old fashioned ice cream parlor. They have a bar area and standard seating. I remember I first went here when I was in high school in late 90's/early 2000's. Ice cream was always top notch. I used to get the Buster Brownie, which was this big brownie sundae with vanilla ice cream, goeey marshmallow topping, whipped cream, & cherry on top. It was awesome! I loved that way back then. I got lunch there once or twice; pretty good sandwiches, but the real highlight is the ice cream. My most recent visit was in Jan. 2022 with my dad. We decided to pop in for ice cream. It was as delicious as I remembered.
