Overpriced for overly sweet ice cream. The sample spoon is what hooked us in, but as you're eating the same ice cream over & over, you can taste all the sugar. Got a slice of brownie on its own, that was a fail, it had a fishy aftertaste. My daughter and I stopped by Frozen Penguin after visiting the OdySea Aquarium. The ice cream shop is located on the second floor, right next to the OdySea Gift shop. The ice cream shop offers a wide range of ice cream from regular ice cream scoops, dippin dots, brownie sundaes, ice cream cookie sandwiches, floats, and much more! We had arrived around 11:30 and there was only one other customer inside Frozen Penguin. My daughter had selected the dippin dots chocolate ice cream and I had decided to choose the Brownie Ice Cream Sundae with Vanilla Ice cream/Caramel Sauce. It took approximately 15 minutes to prepare both. My daughter enjoyed her chocolate dippin dots ice cream. The Brownie Ice Cream Sundae was disappointing though, especially for $8.95. The Brownie was extremely hard. It was too difficult to eat and inedible. The ice cream scoop was small and the M&M' toppings were stale. It's quite expensive at Frozen Penguin. If you're visiting OdySea during the summer, it might be worth it, if you're looking for a frozen treat. read more

We stopped by this ice-cream place after a visit to the odyssey aquarium. It was almost closing time and there were only couple of them inside. It's a regular ice-cream place with lots of options and toppings. But, it's so pricey for some regular scoops in cup and cones. We paid close to $25 for 3 people. I would have paid that for a special but for regular ice-cream it was a bummer. Sometimes u need to cave in for ur toddlers, but next time will be mindful. read more

Pretty much the best ice cream sandwich you could ask for. You get to choose your ice cream, your cookie, and they put it together. Simple but amazing. We had a lot of fun with the kids stopping here after a trip to Odysea. If I'm being honest, we had Penguin's at lunch in the park and then again when we were finished as a treat (it's vacation right?). It's worth a stop if you are at the Aquarium on a hot day. Advertising works! In fact, you can actually measure your height in ice cream sandwiches (which you know we totally did). You can mix and match cookies as well as sample as many flavors of ice cream you'd like. It's just outside the aquarium's exit, making it impossible for us to pass by. Two single-dip cones & one water was $17.26. A tad exorbitant, even if good. Each cone was $4.45. The water was $5.00. And a tip was automatically added for another $2.25. Oh, and of course there was an $.88 state tax added. And then another fee, which I have no idea what it was: SRPMIC for $.23. All in all, for two cones & a water: $17.26. YIKES! Super cute place located in the same "center" as the aquarium. It was super empty which was a scary sign but once we tasted our treats we were all very delighted. My parents tried the mint brownie sandwich and my daughter and I shared the custom Cookie sandwich. We had one confetti cookie, one chocolate chip, chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and sprinkles. Our server was super sweet helpful and patient. I thought this was an excellent themed addition next to the aquarium! My friend and I stopped by before our aquarium visit. It was our first time visiting. It wasnt busy at all and as we quickly browsed the menu we decided to share a cookie/brownie combo sandwich. We picked a cookie option of m&m cookie and had a brownie for the other end of our sandwich. In the middle we chose vanilla ice cream. We didn't really want toppings but added penguin gummies because after all it is penguin ice cream! The only down-fall I would say is that we weren't suggested to have our ice cream 'penguin style'. I noticed the menu in small print at the bottom that you can have your ice cream penguin style which includes: whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and penguin gummies. Being that we already added the gummies I felt the extra whipped cream and syrup would've been nice. However, I didn't notice the menu until we were sitting outside eating our ice cream already. Choose one of six cookies for the top and bottom and then one of twelve Dreyers ice cream flavors. Then a optional topping (.75 cents) to line your ice cream and on a hot Phoenix day you have perfection. For me it was a chocolate chip and snickerdoodle with a cookies and cream filling. Stopped in today for some ice cream after a visit to the aquarium. As I walked in with my hands full and managing my three year old a staff member was quick to let me know that my mask had slipped down and he need me to pull it up if I wanted to be in the store (literally within seconds of walking in the door) I complied after setting my things down. I pointed to the "Superman" ice cream without looking at the label and let him know we'd take a scoop of the rainbow ice cream. The staff member was quick to let me know it was not rainbow ice cream it was Superman. This team member needs a lesson in customer service. Treating your guests like children and being condescending is not a way to get them to come back. Lose the power trip and focus on customer service. I will not be back if he is working. read more
