I frequent Frozen Pirogue often. I can definitely say they continue to provide excellent service. JuJu was super nice and professional, beer was cold on tap, food was great and their live music is on point! They had Schaefer Mueller and Alex White and they can perform! Definitely a great place to grab food on a weekday after work and some drinks as well as listen to live music any day of the week. The food was good but the service was horrible. First a hostess told me that my service dog had to be outside and I explained that she didn't and then a manager guy kept asking if I had my papers on me for her. Well that's illegal and if you don't know that then you shouldn't be in any form of management roll. You allowed a viscous dog to sit just barely inside even after it tried to attack my trained service dog. There are two questions you're allowed to ask and only two. The door was good for the most part, the pepper jack cheese dip with pretzel bread was great. When asking our waiter various questions he was on point and he was doing his best with all the tables he had. We would go awhile with no drink refills but they were slammed so I understand that. That's usually when management jumps into action and helps except he was only helping a table of ladies instead. Sorry we weren't your type and neither was the other table of veterans next to us that had to ask more than six times for a margarita but a table full of college women had your undivided attention. I got the stuffed crab and it was great except the house dressing that has no business being on there. My partner had grill axes and sweet corn grits and it was great as well. Still we kept running out of drinks. We even asked for a pitcher of tea which they would not provide for some odd reason. My biggest complaint is management making up imaginary rules to fit their perspective. The law clearly defines what is and is not acceptable and I will be taking this further up the food chain. I sacrificed a lot for my county and will not be treaded as a second class citizen. Even after everything that happened we were charged for more bread even though we were told we wouldn't be. This place had a great atmosphere and we enjoyed watching the LSU baseball national championship game! The food was great and our server was very attentive and kind, but we had one hiccup with the menu. The prices on the menu did not reflect our ticket price. When we approached our waitress she said "oh yeah the prices changed and they didn't update the menu." This was a little annoying but aside from that it was a great evening. Wife and I enjoyed a pre- Valentine dinner. The half order of grilled oysters was amazing. Wife had a delicious wrap, I ordered the roast beef sandwich with debris au jus. Waitress was amazing as was her tip. My only complaint was that the critical part of the sandwich was the au jus dipping sauce. The most important part of a fantastic sandwich was a thimble sized cup. Really? The most important part of the sandwich , the least expensive but most important part was tiny! Come on guys- you are bigger and better than this! Increase the dipping broth and I'll sing your praises. Continue to skimp and I'll continue my warning. This situation is not on your level. The burger was not seasoned at all and very dry. The service could be much better. The waitress delivered our drinks and took 15 minutes to come back to take our food order and the place was not busy. Fish tacos were dry; you can add thousand island ketchup tasting house dressing. I rather not ruin redfish (my favorite fish) that way. Overcooked with zero flavor. No... just No... Now hubby had Étouffée Burger and said it was amazing. Huge burger! He also said the Pickle was amazing. For tourists it may be okay but for someone familiar with savory seafood go somewhere else. PS my hubby said the oysters were okay, just okay... the owner can buy and asked about the food, so I was honest with him! He remade the food and it was amazing! Will not be returning. This place says to call an hour ahead for a table to be ready when you arrive. Called ahead for 6 and no table was ready. Waited for 45 minutes to get a table because the server said to "grab a table if you see one." After 45 minutes of waiting for a table that should've been ready when we arrived, we left. No one asked to serve us while we sat at the bar for 45 minutes. Service is unacceptable and if you're looking for a fun night out don't go here. read more

First time eating here. I drought my wife to try out the brunch menu. Available Sat & Sun, 11a - 3p. She had The Boudreaux. The eggs were cooked perfect...fluffy and moist. Biscuit was buttery and moist. The gravy was good. Andouille sausage had a nice kick to it. Didn't try the ham. I had the Red Fish Tacos. Fish had a slight blackened flavor. The slaw and house sauce were a good combination. Had white shredded cheese as well. The menu said the tacos were served with kettle chips. I'm sure the chips were regular lays potato chips. Didn't have that crunch or flavor like kettle chips. Also the regular menu price for the tacos is $10.99, but the brunch menu price is $9.49. We were charged the regular price. All in all the place had good service and food. We will be back. Just won't sit on the covered patio because it was pretty warm. read more

I wasn't going to post but feel the need too. It was our anniversary so we decide to give this new place a try... My husband ordered a cup of gumbo. He said it was good. I had a side salad. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer. Just take it off the menu. It was obviously frozen, they were cold. Came back piping hot (a minute in the micro will do that) not worth the money. I ordered the grilled sirloin. Hubby ordered a quarter muffuletta. My steak was more medium rare than medium but i did not send it back because it would return over cooked. I tried to eat it but it was flavorless...and when I chewed for five minutes on the first bite, I quit. It was awful. I asked for butter and Tony's seasoning. Help with flavor but the chewing for me was too much. Muffuletta was ok but not enough olive mix. Tasted more like a ham sandwich. So $50 wasted (the comped the steak). Great waitress. I hear if you love oysters this is the place. I don't. Won't be back. Sorry. I really wanted to like this place. read more

Dined in 9/5/2020. Atmosphere was great. Clean, spacious, and friendly wait staff. Ordered crab bisque which I sent back for gumbo (very good). Had fish tacos that were dry and fairly bland. The biggest issue I had was that their tip chart on the bottom of the receipt is based on the after-tax amount. For my bill, the chart said if I wanted to tip 20% I would need to leave $3.99. But when I calculated $3.99 divided by the PRE-tax amount (like you should; nobody leaves tips based on the after-tax amount.. why would you tip on the tax?), the tip came to 22%. Nice place with a nice layout. Hayden was very nice and friendly. The manager was also very friendly. We arrived late as the kitchen was closing, he still made arrangements to accommodate us right before it closed. They were all very friendly. It's also a great atmosphere. I just had my first visit. My friend & I were seated on the outdoor covered patio. Our server was very friendly & attentive. She suggested the Bartender's Special Daq-I ordered that & my friend had the Cooyon. They were both delish & not super-strong. We shared the Stuffed Blue Crab app-three stuffed crabs topped with fresh crab meat & their house sauce-very good! I had the Shrimp Etouffee Burger. The menu said it came on French bread, but it was on a sesame seed bun. It didn't make a difference to me, wanted to point it out in case someone was expecting French bread. The burger was cooked perfectly, topped with etouffee & jumbo shrimp. My friend ordered a 1/4 muffuletta and said it was very good. The food came out quickly and the atmosphere is relaxed & casual-great place to hang out with friends! I'm not an oyster fan, but if you are you're in luck-they have an extensive oyster menu. We tried it for the first time on Fat Tuesday. It was nice inside and had outdoor patio with a band. Ambience was great. We had garlic Parmesan oysters which were good but a little too salty for me. Some were a little over cooked. Also had Bourbon meatballs which were okay. Waitress said they were a little spicy but not at all spicy to me. Had pulled port stuffed potato skins which were good. King Cake martinis were featured drink special but it was made with milk or cream. Definitely did not expect that in a martini. Ordered 318 Great Raft beer after that. Food was okay overall but could use some improvement and maybe expanded to include other seafood and steaks. Will try again. read more
