For a place called the library, it didn't really lean into its name/theme for the decor. There were like maybe 10 books lol. The food and service were fine. We finally got our drinks about 12:35 and placed our appetizer order. Appetizers came out about 15 minutes later and both were delicious. The Nori mayo makes the corn ribs, definitely recommend ordering them. The spinach and artichoke dip was very good as well, a bit spicy for my kid, no big deal. Our party order: Fish & chips Grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and a side salad Cheese pizza The library burger The cheese pizza and burger were the only edible items. Don't order the chicken breast without getting it Cajun blackened, unless you want a dry non seasoned over cooked chicken breast! The fish were so full of grease they fell apart as soon as you picked them & were inedible. 0/10. After being here an hour, we were getting a bit antsy. Once we had hit an hour and 10 minutes it had gotten to be a bit too much. Our waiter came by and kindly let us a know a table of 12 people were waiting on their food and then ours would be out we weren't in a rush so I guess it didn't matter, but we were beginning to be uncomfortable! The atmosphere is also strange? There are grills outside the front door, flour and other items stacked high in the hallway, soap and toilet paper shoved on the floor under the sinks. It feels very chaotic and unorganized. We were given a discount and key lime pie & a cookie for our "troubles". Even with the discount we were still over $100 for a bad meal.

I attended with a local friend and he confirmed this is authentic. The experience: Friendly staff, a long restaurant with a bar section, followed by the condiments section, followed by a whole other bar somehow? I didn't poke my head back there but I found that intriguing. More on the condiments: They come with any sandwich. I probably took unfair advantage by taking enough lettuce, tomatoes, and onions to make an entire salad. I then asked for dressing, which they happily provided at no charge. And sandwiches? Do get. Delicious bread. The default bread appears to be the French - you could opt for their sourdough if you like - and it's not toasted. I love soft bread, and the po' boy was divine as a result. I loved the boudin. I loved that they have alligator sausage in multiple places on the menu. I loved everything about this place except the fact that summer means just about all of the beers were light, and I had to hunt and peck to find beers more my style. Which I did. And maybe those beers are lingering as I type this review. But BeauxJax gave me the warm, fuzzy, welcoming feeling I love in a restaurant. A great stop in Bossier. Worth a detour from Shreveport. Legitimate Cajun.

The menu was interesting, with several Cajun-themed choices, as you would imagine. Nothing blew our socks off on the menu, but we appreciated the local brew selection. This is one of our go-to restaurants in Shreveport. It's not necessarily gourmet, but you won't be disappointed with what you get.

The room was beautiful in a quiet, elegant way, thoughtfully put together, warm and welcoming. And the people... every single waitress greeted us with kindness, but Miss Tammy -- oh, she was something special. The kind of person who makes you feel like you've known her forever. So sweet, so genuine, the kind of service you don't forget. The food came out and from the very first bite, it was clear this was a place that cooks with love. The eggs, the omelet, the French toast -- everything tasted like comfort. And then there was the millionaire bacon -- perfectly caramelized with brown sugar and just a touch of chili flakes. Sweet, smoky, with a gentle heat that teased your taste buds like heaven. Absolutely unforgettable. The portions were generous in the best way, and the prices were more than fair, especially for a breakfast that leaves you full and happy. But listen... the coffee. That coffee wrapped around you like a warm blanket. And then came the meat pies -- crispy, flavorful, absolutely unforgettable. Paired with those potatoes -- golden and crisp on the outside, soft and tender on the inside -- perfectly made, just the way they should be. The owner was there today too, sitting with friends, laughing and enjoying himself, and somehow that made the place feel even more real -- like you were stepping into a slice of everyday life, not just a restaurant. If you're looking for a true southern breakfast, a place with heart, warmth, and soul -- this is it. This is where you go when you want to feel something, not just eat. We'll be back. Without a doubt. And Miss Tammy -- thank you. You made the day brighter than you know.

Ordered our food at that time. We checked in at the 40 minute mark and come to find out that our food still wasn't ready. Apparently the waiter put the order in on the wrong name - so that had to be fixed. And then when it was fixed they had a large party in front of ours that needed to be prepared first before ours. Needless to say we have now been sitting in this restaurant for over an hour with a cup of coffee and no food. If you want a quick breakfast spot, this is not the place. I would not recommend coming here with children because I cannot imagine them waiting patiently for an hour for breakfast. I have yet to receive our food even after writing this long review. But any place where you have to wait this long to get some eggs and a pancake I cannot recommend.
