Yelpers meet up on a Sunday morning to try this hot and new Fruisea Rolls & Teas! Yelp Elite All Stars Irene M., Donna O. and Aunty Nadine C. and I rendezvoused here for refreshments and to try its foodie offerings. The name "Fruisea" is a play on "Fruits of the Sea," and the menu includes both seafood items like sushi, poke bowls, and udon, as well as fruit drinks. Fruisea is located in the Chinatown Cultural Plaza. It's across Sandy's Cafe. Bathrooms are available with a key. Request access from employees. It's a small establishment with a few cozy tables and a counter/ cashier area to place your order. Appears to be a family run business here. Really nice attentive service and smiles abound. Tables were rearranged to accommodate our group of four. A complimentary curry fish cake appetizer was served to us while we were eating. I ordered a drink of yuzu seltzer with strawberry mix. It's not on the menu. They made the refreshing drink for me and it was delicious! I also wanted to try the sushi and ordered the tekka maki and kanpyo maki rolls. Both delicious and freshly made. Prices for drinks and sushi are very reasonably priced. Ginger and wasabi are served with the sushi. Shoyu is available on the table, along with dipping dishes. Having fun with Irene, Donna and Nadine is priceless!!! We stayed for a while and we were never pressured to hurry up and leave. Customers came and ordered while we were there. Food and drinks are good and freshly made here. Thank you Nadine, Donna and Irene for your great company and sharing of food and goodies. Parking: We all found free street metered parking on Sunday. Otherwise you may park and pay in the Chinese Cultural Plaza parking lot. Food: 4.5/5 stars Service: 5/5 stars Ambiance: 4/5 stars

A TEArrific spot... It's been awhile since we've gathered so choosing a spot can get tricky but here we are at a newbie in the Chinatown Cultural Plaza where they do charge for parking but on Sunday all street parking is free and I did get very lucky to find a spot right beside the building. Located on the ground floor right across from Sandy's love the super cute logo of various sushi is definitely bright and cheerful is a unique thing to see in this area. As I did want to later browse around the area I passed on the sushi and decided to order a tea which choices they have does compliment with their menu items is very nice and cool. Besides on their menu there are some items that's not on it like "Refreshing Lemon Tea" where there was a picture of it right beside the service counter and decided that was it a simple yet so refreshing sip that I love. Though I didn't order any sushi my besties did and was made very nice and though we usually do know what's in it some of the rolls didn't have enough description for me to decide and wish that they provide that versus asking is much more convenient for me since I do have some allergies. The staff there is so nice and friendly as we were a party of five the four top table was a bit small and gave us another table and allowed us to catch up and hangout a big longer is so generous and kind. As we commented how adorable their logo is they gifted us a logo take out bag which was so thoughtful and with that will carry the wonderful Fruisea with me. Thank you!

Fried Calamari - More Italian breadcrumby than karaage-ish.

New place...at Chinese Cultural Plaza. So if you're driving, choke parking. It's on the river side of the plaza...close to Lee Ho Fook...if you in the middle, closer to Tai Pan. Best part: 1. They are really nice there. All smiles. Apologetic for waits. 2. Good Special. Hopefully new one for next month. Special that ends today ... free drink for spending so much, free dessert for spending so much. Spent a lot so I got both. Lime Tea was really tasty and refreshing. Little sweet for me, so gave to the hubs. 3. Good prices, but it's in line with the quality. 4. Cute take out bags! Some things that need a little help: 4 pages of menu. No descriptions, so try to decipher from the sorta blurry picture. Girl at front super nice, but not super confident what's in everything. Had to ask, but better than just making things up. The "fancy" big rolls...cali on the inside. Too bad b/c missed opportunity to be super creative with the Sakura Roll. Cali and the sauces are a little too "haole" for my taste. I do like a good cali, but it doesn't need to be in everything. Ordered a bunch for my lunch, baby's dinner, and Ma's dinner. - Ocean Lover Combo for Ma - Fried Calamari - Came across more Italian-ish than Asian-ish. But not terrible. - Takuan for baby. Decent size takuan so baby will be happy. - Soba for baby. Big, so feed the hubs too - Spicy Ahi and Spicy Salmon Nigiri - not bad, but something missing. I think a spooge of sesame oil would be good. And more chili oil or powder. I like that it's not sriracha kine. - Volcano Waave Roll - Shrimp Tempura inside, spicy ahi outside. Usually aioli (I think) and kabayaki on top...noooo kabayaki for me. Too sweet.

I first saw Fruisea on my Instagram reels mentioning that a new affordable sushi place opened up. I tried to look up the menu online, but wasn't able to find anything so my coworker and I decided to head there and check it out. It is located near the river on the first floor in Chinatown Cultural Plaza. Staff were very friendly and seemed like it was a small family business. My coworker and I ordered the dynamite roll (spicy salmon, shrimp tempura roll), the tsunami roll (california roll topped with spicy ahi), the curry fish balls, and the calamari. They also mentioned this special where you get a free sparkling drink when you spend over $35. We opted for the yuzu one. It was light and refreshing. Would definitely get again! Very affordable and service was quick. I will definitely come back to try the other stuff they have to offer.

I just had a ginger drink to go. It had a nice ginger flavor and tiny pieces of orange rind too. Very refreshing.

First time customer who turned into a regular customer! I heard of this place from many coworkers and heard nothing but good things about it. I didn't bring lunch today so it was the perfect opportunity to try them out. I tried their Volcano Wave bowl. I honestly had no expectations but oh boy, let me tell you for the price, it is a MUST TRY! Their spicy ahi was tasty, it has a nice decent kick to it (nothing too crazy), ahi felt fresh. The shrimp was okay. It's your typical fried shrimp that you get on most restaurants. The sushi rice didn't stand out much to me but it was tasty. The portions are decent and the value is good. It definitely won't break your bank. I suggest you order ahead of time cause they can be slammed during lunch time. Definitely recommend!

Highly recommend this place as your next stop! Lots of different options of sushi rolls, bowls, n, platters, drinks, more and beautiful presentation. I absolutely LOVE Salmon! The staff were extremely polite and provided excellent service. It was a must as well to get the strawberry matcha latte! There is also tables as well for a pleasant dine in.

I'd been curious about trying their matcha offerings, so I was excited. We came on a holiday morning, and there wasn't anyone inside. The cafe is cute and vibey! I ordered at the register, and she made my drink immediately. I was intrigued by their Haupia Matcha Latte. I love all things Haupia, so it seemed like the perfect match. I got the Haupia Matcha Latte with Oat Milk, and it was superb. I loved how creamy it was, how the sweetness of the haupia shone, but the earthiness of the matcha was still there. I'd definitely recommend this drink and am curious about their others. Hello Again is a nice cafe addition to Chinatown. The employee took it and immediately hung up on me--no name taken, no "thank you," no "goodbye." When I arrived, the parking was a mess, so I had to be dropped off. Inside, the food display looked sad, and the cashier looked completely miserable and unpresentable. While waiting patiently on the side for 15 minutes, I watched the kitchen staff preparing food. Red flag: they literally microwave their eggs instead of cooking them fresh. After 30 minutes of total waiting time, I finally went up to check on my order, only to find out the cashier hadn't even handed my ticket to the kitchen yet. She sent it back right in front of me without a single word of apology--just a blank stare. I cancelled my order on the spot. Horrible service, zero management, and low-quality food prep. Save your golden time & money and go somewhere else. Definitely not a place where I'd want my food prepared!

The ordering process was easy thanks to their amazing staff. Their guidance from online ordering to communication over the phone and text, they made our event successful and memorable. There was 5 of us , with a moderate appetite. So, We went with two orders of the "Catering - Sandwiches TO GO" and one order of the "Catering - Scones TO GO". Then our choice of their teas: 1oz Sakura Cherry Rose and 1oz of their Cookies and Cream, which is great with milk and sugar btw. 1oz =at least 12 pours of the tea. If you want 2oz =24 pours of tea. The sandwiches were also delicious, a cute tiny bite of flavor. Which to this day I wish I ordered more since I'm more of a savory girlie. You can choose the sandwiches from their catering or seasonal menu and it comes in 4 pieces. We ordered: Sandwich flavors 24 pieces 1 Sweet egg salad (4) 1 Smoked Salmon with Dill Creme (4) 1 Nutella & Strawberry (4) 1 roasted veggies & hummus (4) 1 Crab & Cheese (4) 1 Cucumber & Avocado (4) My personal Favorites were the Smoked Salmon with Dill Crème and Roasted veggies & Hummus. The scones only available flavors were vanilla bean & earl grey and it also comes with potted cream and jam packed in a to-go cup.
