Frog Pond on Park Ave is a delightful spot for a weekend brunch. It has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with a charming neighborhood feel that makes you want to settle in and enjoy a leisurely meal. Our party of two had a largely positive experience, and while the mimosas and one of our dishes were great, there was a slight disappointment with the "frittata" that keeps me from giving a full five stars. We started our brunch with their Mimosas, and they were perfectly refreshing! Not too heavy on the orange juice and with a good bubbly kick - exactly what you want to kick off a relaxing weekend. They weren't overly sweet, which I appreciated. For our main courses, we opted for what was listed as the Frittata and the dish called "The Renee." Now, the dish described as the Frittata was a bit of a letdown. To be honest, it felt more like a skillet dish than a traditional frittata. While the ingredients themselves - fresh vegetables and cheese - were tasty enough, the texture and overall preparation weren't what I expected from a frittata. It lacked the airy, egg-based structure I associate with a true frittata and felt more like scrambled eggs baked in a pan. I was a bit disappointed as I was really in the mood for a proper frittata. It did come with a side of (insert what it came with - e.g., mixed greens, toast), which was a nice complement, but it didn't make up for the fact that it wasn't really a frittata. On the other hand, "The Renee" was delicious! This featured perfectly poached eggs nestled atop a flavorful corned beef hash. The eggs were cooked beautifully, with runny yolks that oozed out perfectly. The corned beef hash was clearly homemade, with a great balance of savory meat and potatoes. It was a hearty and satisfying brunch classic done right. The service was friendly and attentive. Our server was prompt with our drinks and food, and they checked in on us just the right amount without being intrusive. The overall pace of the meal was relaxed, which is exactly what you want during brunch. The main drawback was definitely the misleading description of the "frittata." While the skillet dish was palatable, it wasn't what I was expecting and left me feeling a little misled. There were also (mention something else plausible that might contribute to a 4-star rating. Examples: a slight wait for a table even with a reservation, the coffee could have been a bit stronger, the noise level picked up as it got busier). Overall, Frog Pond is still a charming spot with some delicious offerings, particularly the mimosas and "The Renee." However, be aware that the "frittata" might not be what you traditionally expect. Despite this, I would likely give Frog Pond another try to explore other items on their menu.

My third time at The Frog Pond on Park, and one thing holds true: their food, ambiance, service, and experience are exactly what I expect every time. The hostess, Sam, got us seated in one of their corner window booths quickly considering the Sunday brunch rush, and our server Dawn kept our coffee full and was friendly and welcoming. I'd ordered their Monte Cristo sandwich in the past, and this time talked my mom into trying it as she was teetering between sweet and savory. The portions here are sizable--you won't leave hungry--and something like the Monte Cristo could easily be split between two people. I tried their Korean fried chicken sandwich, which came topped with spicy-sweet pickled veggies and was perfectly crispy and juicy. The French onion soup was also quite good--think the platonic ideal of French onion soups, and you're just about there. My dad had the build your own omelette, which comes at a flat price of $10 plus a little for whatever fillings you choose to add from their broad variety. It was a pretty standard diner-style omelette, and he added Gouda, prosciutto, and heirloom cherry tomatoes to fill the eggs. He wasn't blown away by the omelette, but says the filling options were a nice addition and he cleaned his plate. I continue to recommend The Frog Pond to anyone looking for a tasty, homey brunch in Park Avenue, but be aware the space is small and can get a little loud with everyone holding conversations.

The menu and the options here were great and catered to everybody in the party. We came on a Wednesday morning after the holidays and it was pretty busy, but not too crazy. It's very cute and cozy inside; you can see the kitchen and everything is frog-themed. The food was good- I got the berry french toast- but the service was a little off. I felt like I was making the waitress upset by asking for silverware, water refills, etc. That said, I know that the holiday season can be a busy time for a lot of restaurants and it's probably not a fun time to work. I'll definitely come back again!

We stopped by for some breakfast and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food that awaited us. While the service was a bit slower, it was also a Monday morning, so we'll have to go it another go. Meanwhile, the food was great, portions were huge, and everything was yummy. Great price for what you're getting. The inside has been renovated and offers plenty of seating and light, making it a perfect brunch or lunch stop with a small group of friends.

Had lunch here (thank God myself) and the environment is relaxing and they have tables outside which is good for the summer time (this is the only positive). The staff seemed busy eventhough there was not a lot of people. They also don't check on you. Takes forever to PAY!. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to people with a low sodium diet as they don't cook with any salt or seasoning at all! I ordered steak/eggs and home fries with toast. Where do I start? 1) the home fries, burned 2) the eggs were not completely cooked (you could see the running whites which is disgusting to me) 3) the steak was cold and had no flavor (didn'teven taste like steak). I can only imagine that they took it from the freezer and threw it in the grill. 4l) the toast, soft due to the amount of butter they added. I think they may have submerged the toast on liquid butter 5) this place is overpriced given that the food/service is horrible. I frankly don't understand how they are still in business. Don't waste your money here, there are better places in the area.

It was very nice; we were able to have a decent conversation with dinner and that made for a wonderful experience. The service was prompt but unobtrusive. Portions are sized well but not huge. I did see some people taking home some white boxes. We shared our starter, entrée and dessert and finished it all. We started with Smoked Trout Dip served with house made potato chips. The ratio of chips to dip looked off but it was perfect. Personally, I thought the dip was under seasoned and light on the trout. The Chef came to our table to discuss his cuisine and we both left with our own opinions intact. The Featured - Friday Fish was the best Bouillabaisse I have tasted in years. It was the Friday Special and it was indeed special. The Bourbon Apple Crisp was to die for. If I had known, it was so good we would have ordered two portions instead of splitting one. The parking lot on the property is very small, but street parking is available.

We were quoted about a 40-minute wait for a table, but told bar seating might open up sooner (around 30 minutes). They took my number and we stepped outside to take a walk around the block while we waited. We ended up getting a text about the bar seat availability in about 15 minutes. Once we got seated at the bar, things turned around quickly. The space has a really cozy, intimate vibe with dim lighting, warm atmosphere and overall it feels thoughtfully put together. We ordered hot toddies to drink, which were perfect for the weather, and for food we got the Japanese sweet potatoes and the cavolo nero pesto. Both dishes were incredibly delicious - flavorful and well-balanced. Just be prepared for a wait (and maybe stay nearby instead of wandering off), but once you're in, it's a great experience!

It's a small space inside but it's designed well enough to manage a flow of traffic for customers and staff. We sat in the back greenhouse area. I think the least enjoyable part of our experience was how loud it was in the restaurant. Definitely not a good spot if you're trying to catch up with someone and your voice doesn't carry. I couldn't actually hear the specials the server was telling us. I want to try out Vern's again, so I may wait until there's an outdoor table or ask to sit in the second level to see if that's quieter. We tried one of their spring menu appetizer items, the Japanese sweet potatoes with kimchi ranch and dill. One bite and I was addicted, these were so so good. We then moved on to the classics for entrees -- bee sting pizza and the ragu-- and we were amazed at how good everything was! The only note we had was about the pizza, it was very soggy in the middle but still edible if you rolled it over in itself. We also had a few cocktails, and while they were somewhat small, you could tell they weren't watered down in any way. Two drinks was more than enough for me. Overall it was a great experience and we want to try it again. If you're someone who struggles to enjoy a meal out where you can't hear much, maybe wait for outdoor tables.

The mussels were delicious, fat and tender, swimming in a delicious broth that tasted more Thai than French, but really good. Came with a little baguette. The salmon was good, but should be listed as an appetizer. It's under the word 'grand' on the menu which literally means 'big.' Besides being a tiny portion, the sides were only for aesthetic purposes, not for feeding humans. The plate was pretty but not fulfilling. No need to return.
