Eggplant Parmesan with Bolognese Sauce
Max K.

Years later, I still love this place. They have one of the best eggplant parmesans in the area. I recommend it with the bolognese sauce though, so good! I think they check all the boxes, kind and attentive service, cozy atmosphere, and great portions, price and quality. I have zero complaints and I wouldn't change a thing.

Chicken & Biscuits, phone didn't eat first this time
Jennifer J.

We've tried to come a few other times and they haven't been open but we came tonight and this place was SO good! We both started with soup, cheddar broccoli and Italian wedding. Wow. Ordered some to go also. For dinner I got the chicken and biscuits, everything tasted so amazing you can tell it's home cooked which is just what we were looking for! The service was great, we didn't come at a busy time (7pm) everything was clean and tidy in the restaurant despite them being super busy earlier in the night. Will definitely be back!

Lemon Artichoke Soup!!
Richard P.

We have been coming here for close to ten years now and have never been dissatisfied. One of the specialties is the lemon artichoke soup which is unique and beyond compare. Any of the salads are huge and filled with fresh ingredients. Another excellent choice is the stockyard steak which always is done to perfection. Make Fruit & Salad one of your top choices when eating out and you will never regret it.

Chicken Limone

The food is outstanding! The staff was warm and friendly without being obtrusive, and the setting was very pretty. Simple, comfortable. I will be back!

Very good lentil burger
Marissa N.

Lentil burger was delicious, the moist patty stayed together and the sauce was flavorful. The fries were soft and lacked any crispness. The chopped salad had little flavor. The cream of broccoli soup had hard pieces of broccoli stem and the outer layer of onion which made it unpleasant.

After going to Erie Grill for breakfast (after colonoscopy) I couldn't wait to try it for dinner…read more Breakfast was great! Homemade hash, local sausage, nice home fries a very hearty meal! I decided we should go for Valentine's Day! So here we are a group of 4, on Valentine's Day . Reservation was for 6 however our show ended early so we came around 5:30. Restaurant was empty except for a few people at the bar. Host was less than happy about us coming in early. We had no problem waiting. He reluctantly seats us. The waitress comes out rolls her eyes and then gives a fake smile. Maybe because our skin is brown but our money is green. Now to the food! Awful and severely over priced! We have been too many expensive restaurants that can walk the walk. Erie Grill can't even crawl. Caesar salad $25 (serves one, not an entree), chicken lollipops $16 end up being two chicken legs. The others ordered wagu meatloaf. It definitely tasted frozen. I order tuna tartar wontons (Nosh's Ahi tuna wontons would murder these) and a bowl of jambalaya (meh). It has definitely taken me one month to get over this experience. Nice hotel well that's all I can say! PS. Manager seemed to be "taste testing" booze in the back. Unprofessional!

We had a reservation but stood at the hostess stand for about 10 minutes before being seated. During that time, the waitress was chatting with other patrons, which would have been understandable had our party not felt consistently deprioritized throughout the meal. Our group arrived around the same time and took a few minutes to catch up and meet a friend's newborn before placing drink and food orders. Service was extremely slow, particularly given that my son ordered a simple bowl of cereal, which arrived no earlier than the hot entrées. Our drinks were not refilled, and when I asked for additional water, I was told the waitress had another large party coming in soon. When I stepped away briefly to take my son to the restroom, our plates were cleared despite the fact that he still had food left. The staff made it very clear that we were expected to leave, even though we had only been there for about an hour and forty minutes and experienced significant delays in receiving our food. Overall, the food was acceptable, but the service toward our larger party felt rushed, dismissive, and unwelcoming. With more attentive and considerate service, this could be a much better experience.

Our family was visiting Rochester from out of town to celebrate our son's college graduation. We…read morebooked the private room at Avvino (Meyer's Den), which turned out to be a great choice. While planning our dinner party months in advance, the communication from Janine was excellent. She helped us develop a 4-course menu that was sure to have something for everyone, including vegan and allergy friendly options. Amy was our server for the evening, and she ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our evening. The chairs in the Meyer's Den are wide and comfortable, the decor is dark and classy, and being in the basement away from the dining room made it very quiet and easy to converse with family. The room is rather spacious for 12 guests, but could also accommodate a few more people without feeling cramped. Out of the appetizers we selected, the Charred Octopus was very popular and everyone enjoyed it...even those that had never previously eaten octopus. The baby cauliflower dish was also a beautiful presentation, and quite large and enjoyable. The salads, particularly the Charred Hurricane salad, were nice light courses before the entree was served. As for the entrees, the filet mignon was a little on the dry side, but we really enjoyed the light and crispy spinach fritters that accompanied the beef. The salmon was a generous portion of medium rare fish, and there was lot going on with that dish - spicy cauliflower and za'atar potatoes that had some mixed reviews. Folks who ordered the duck breast seemed to enjoy the complex preparation, which had asparagus, green beans, and two pureed sauces - cauliflower ginger and cherry-rhubarb. The doughnut bread pudding with apple pieces and vanilla ice cream was a delicious, decadent way to end the meal. We left rather stuffed, and delighted with the overall experience that allowed our family to celebrate together.

For appetizers, we got the roasted beets and the bone marrow. Both were good. I got the duck breast for entree and my friends got the carrot cavatelli and lobster bucatini. We all enjoyed our dishes. The duck was succulent and roasted just enough. The Brussel sprouts that came on the side were a disappointment though. For dessert, I ordered ricotta pine nut tart with lemon sorbet. The tart was very subtle in flavor but good. My friends ordered the bread pudding which was great as well. Overall, very satisfied with the food and service. Can be back!

The service was inattentive and food was mediocre. Everything seemed previously frozen. When the Buffalo Bills came on at 8pm, all the tables tried to get closer to their small outdoor bar with a few extra high tops. All the waitresses left and those of us left outside were asked to go inside to order. The outdoor bartender was also inattentive and planned to leave shortly after the game started. I would suggest not advertising yourself as a sports bar or having Bills events if you're not going to staff your outdoor area on a nice summer night

The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, with some soft music playing, and sports on the TV. Our server was over within minutes to take our drink orders. We ordered the mozzarella half moons and an order of chicken wings as appetizers. The mozzarella half moons were not too great. They did not have much flavor and they tasted kind of old. But, the chicken wings were the star of the show. We got the Cajun gold sauce and wow... it was so good. There wasn't much of a Cajun flavor to it, but it had this tangy sweet flavor to it that made your mouth salivate. And the chicken wings themselves were fried to the perfect crisp. I ordered the turtle plate with cheeseburgers, french fries, and mac salad. The cheeseburgers and French fries were cooked well. The mac salad was lacking flavor and was just kind of watery. The meat hot sauce atop the plate had too much of a cinnamon flavor for me, that kind of ruined the whole plate for me. My dad order their special fried oyster po boy, which he said wasn't too great. He said the fried oyster were kind of cold, and they were put on a plain roll. My mom got a burger, which she said was a fine burger. I definitely will be back in the future at least for those wings, and to probably try some of their other food.
