Plenty of customers were busy studying or working, giving it a cozy atmosphere. While cute, the menu availability was rather disappointing. A good potion of the items that were listed on the back of the menu were either no longer offered or unavailable. I had been looking forward to ordering a Seasonal Smoothie Bowls, only to discover it was no longer offered since Basin Bistro next door now offers them instead. They were also out of fruit for the smoothies. In the end I was able to order a smoothie substitute.

Although the price is pretty high compared to other dessert drinks (like $5 for boba vs. $7/9 for a smoothie here), I think it's definitely worth it because of how fresh it is.       There a small space indoors to sit, but we choose to sit outside to enjoy the fresh air, and there's many benches/tables to sit at. The place itself is very quaint and is a home. There is street parking around the block and street. Especially for a small business on an island. I will NOT ever buy from this location again. It's terribly disappointing being such a fan of this franchise when it first came to Houston back in the day. (Lived in Houston 27 years before moving here in 2013) DO BETTER. Great beach vibe atmosphere in this cute downtown location that has been a Galveston staple since 1976 although his family has made candy since the 1920s. They even serve Purity ice cream which is Texas' first ice cream manufacturer, founded in 1889 on Galveston Island. Definitely worth a visit!
