My favorite Fruiteria Cafe in San Diego. Frutas has been around for years especially in the South Bay & they have grown to a few shops now. Known for their fresh fruit, juices, smoothies but they also have good fresh sandwiches & tortas. The customer service here is very good, always nice & helpful & it's always very clean in here, you can smell the Lavender Fabulouso as you walk in like at your Tia Guadalupe's house. Sometimes there can be a little wait but remember it's all fresh :) My favorite item here is the Torta De Lomo, the best Lomo Torta in all SD, ask for extra sauce. The Torta De Milanesa is also one of the best you'll find in SD, my kids & wife's favorite. They also have a very good Tuna sandwich here cold or hot, get an Agua with your meal their good. I'm not much of a Bagel or breakfast guy BUT they got an amazing Breakfast Bagel that I look forward too the times I come in the morning. Disappointed with the overall customer service here. Phone orders aren't answered during the last hour of business, and the cashiers often come across as dismissive or impatient. Even with customers still inside, the staff begin shutting things down, refusing access to the bathroom and trash bins because they're preparing to close. I overheard an unfortunate conversation where employees mocked a customer who pleaded to use the bathroom just before 6:50pm, citing a medical urgency. That level of insensitivity is unacceptable. Tortas are always fresh tasting, perfect portions of all ingredients and the jalapeño gives it the perfect touch. The smoothies! Blended well, not too sweet, fresh fruit! I went to pick up food for me and my co workers on my lunch break, i was getting ringed up by a younger girl and the card reader wasn't really working. She had me insert my card a few times. She called her manager over and I believe his name is Cesar, Cesar straight up told me in Spanish that I have no money on my card, it's not his card reader it's my card having NO MONEY. So I went to my car to grab another way to pay, when I went back in the guy who was behind me in line was paying card and guess what... it wasn't working! So cesar started to unplug the card reader and restart it. How come I was the one with no money? Why didn't he restart it for me? Super delicious tuna torta!! The tuna salad seemed to be very plain almost no seasoning on it or mayo but honestly you don't need anything. I was surprised because the avocado, tomatoes, onions and jalapeños give it so much flavor I can't explain it. It was a very clean, delicious, yummy tuna sandwich!!
