=Saturday 11a 1/10/26)= Only opened less than a month and already packed for breakfast. Looks like La Valentina has a good following. My friends and I were looking for a good authentic chilaquiles place in Chula Vista, nothing over the top, but good. La Valentina popped up as one of the top 3 choices for this dish. The other two I knew may be a challenge when comes to parking and the wait, especially during the weekends. I knew La Valentina would have enough parking spaces close by as I've been to same location when it was owned by previous proprietors (Yeung Lew Chinese and Rosas). This was our first visit and nothing wrong with trying out new mom and pop restaurants in the South Bay area. I had made reservations over the phone days ago for 11am slot. No issues. Upon arrival, our reservations were nowhere to be found. Luckily, there was one table with 4 seats left and so we sat down, scanned the menu momentarily, and then placed our order. We received our order in no time. Hot, delicious and ready to eat. I asked for ketchup, but never received during our stay. Didn't bother bugging our server for obvious reasons but also consumed my potatoes right away as I was already hungry. I am still bugged though that hostess/waitress did not have my reservation. That's a no bueno. By the way, that same hostess/waitress was our server. She appeared to be the only person working both dining area and patio....and the register. I get it, maximize profit by using less staff, etc. Fortunately, our server received helping hands here and there from staff coming to and from kitchen area. It was a full house and it just seemed like a lot for her. I have to give her lots of credit and praise. She hustled. This restaurant maybe small in size, but inviting, meticulously decorative, with a nice food menu to choose from. There's something for everyone. My machaca dish was good. Generous portioned chunks of meat and eggs; the potatoes were on skimpy side. Overall, we enjoyed. I plan return again with more friends and family PS we ended up ordering something else and not the chilaquiles read more

I attempted to contact the restaurant directly, however there is no phone number listed online, so I am reaching out this way. I recently ordered campechana chilaquiles, a machaca burrito, and two coffees. When we got home, we discovered that the campechana chilaquiles had no shrimp or birria at all. I would not have paid nearly $30 for a dish that consisted only of tortillas, potatoes, eggs, and beans. Since we had already gotten home, I was not willing to drive back to the restaurant. Overall, it was extremely disappointing to spend nearly $60 on a meal that was incorrect and did not reflect what was ordered. read more

Tried this cute little place today for breakfast and I will say it has potential. I know its new and starting out so they do need a little more adjustments. The first thing was my coffee it was not that great. I had to ask for more powder and they did accommodate me. I was happy they were willing to make it better. The omelets was good and my chilaquiles were also good. The burrito was not. I do think it would be way better if they scrambled the egg with the chorizo. The egg and chorizo cooked separately was way to strong of taste. Other then that the service was great and I will keep coming. I love a small buisness and will always support. read more

Came back with a friend and this time around we had breakfast! Both our omelettes were delicious! Th venue as very pretty as described before really cozy and artistic. As far as service goes our server was very nice, I wanted to use my free chilaquiles coupon but was a holiday and she explained that I could use that on holidays or weekends, even though i didn't like that it was a different server from last time so I won't hold it against her or the restaurant. The breakfast here was very good and they had a great cafe de olla! We had the machaca and la mamada omelette. Everything came out fresh and authentic taste. They also had a home made chili oil that had an amazing spicy kick to it. This place is fairly small but they do have an outdoor patio for seating. There was just one waiter but she was doing an amazing job at checking in with us despite it being busy and just her. Very cozy feel at this restaurant with unique wall art of different animals which I absolutely loved. read more

We arrived at this place and were second on the waitlist for a party of two. The waitress called my name and informed me that the wait would be 40 minutes, recommending that we go to their other restaurant instead. I think I found the best Chilaquiles in San Diego ! Came here with my buddies and wanted to try a little of everything. We shared the stuffed peanut butter French toast, it was amazing. Then we shared the Birria and eggs plate, mannn so yummy. We ordered another set of French toast with chocolate this time. We shared a hash brown burrito which wasn't bad. Then my favorite item was the chipotle chilaquiles with birria !!! . Must try !!!!! Trust me. Definitely coming back here. They also have a patio! Super great service! I came with my friends for some breakfast and will definitely come back for more! It's a family owned restaurant, the owner is very kind and the food is prepared quickly. Don't worry though, the food comes out fast but it doesn't lack in flavor. I ordered Red Enchiladas and the portions were very filling. I was able to take some home :) The restaurant is very cozy with fun decorations and is in a great location. Like I said, I'll definitely come back for more. You should also stop by if you see this awesome restaurant. read more

The ambiance is beautiful and the coffee is delicious. But having said that, these have to be the worst tacos I've ever had in Chula Vista. A tiny bit of unflavored chicken with tomato and cilantro. A small portion of grilled shrimp. Service was pleasant, but when I pointed out that the shrimp taco didn't have cheese, it was returned to me 10 minutes later with a sprinkle of cheese. Should have gone elsewhere (or ordered chilaquiles). read more
