The food was good, but pretty expensive. They claim to serve Nashville Hot Chicken, they do not. Nashville Hot Chicken is supposed to be dipped in hot oil and spices. Fry The Coop serves their dry tenders over a slice of dry white bread. The white bread is supposed to soak up all the oil and spice dripping from the chicken. Their lemonade is extremely sour. I asked if they had any kind of sweetener in the building, they said no. It is a converted Steak & Shake. There are huge sections where the black and white floor tiles are missing, and the floor is leveled out with cement. There are several long booths and tables for larger parties, and a few small tables fill in the large gaps in the large dining room. Odd, thick rope light fixtures hang down from the ceiling. They are reminiscent of nooses, not a good look. Old kitchen gadgets and rural pictures cover some of the walls while another wall has loud, multi-colored chickens painted on it. It's very disjointed. We were in during dinner time on a Monday. There were only 2 other tables of people there. Google showed that it was a busy time for them with a wait. The only wait I saw were 3 customers standing at the register, waiting to order while all the employees looked to be hanging out in the kitchen. Hubby & I drove thru around dinner time. We have been by during the day, but they haven't been open for lunch. We placed our orders - we both got the Nashville fried chicken sandwich, fries & a drink. They didn't offer a "dinner combo" on the menu. I chose seasoned fries as my side, hubby chose cheese fries. And we each got a 16oz drink. Our dinners were each just under $18 each, so $36 + tax for our dinner. We both agree that the sandwiches had GREAT flavor! We did have a few issues though - we didn't receive cheese for the cheese fries we ordered. Also, the coleslaw, which was very tasty, was super watery. It didn't make for a great situation when we got home. The cardboard container the sandwich was in was soaked as were the buns. If we ever go back, we will ask for "no ice" in our drinks. It's a super small cup (16oz) and there wasn't much room for our drinks once the ice was added - and the drinks were $2.79 each. Def a waste of money there. Food was tasty. Hope they adjust their prices to an affordable, fast food, suburban price. read more

In town for youth hockey, never even heard of this place . Glad we stopped. Staff was friendly and got the food out quick . Wish portions were larger, but times are different and food costs a fortune to make at a restaurant now, get it . It was so good though. Several levels of heat you can get. I don't like hot chicken much so I just went with the weak "country" level and just savored the chicken. I'd come back in a heartbeat for what this place serves up, which includes cold Old Style beer. Staff friendly , place is spotless and the food is great . Great job! We tried fry the coop for the first time a few weeks ago and it was so delicious. We ate inside. Today we ordered online and picked up through the drive thru. We came home and realized we got the wrong order. I attempted to call the location 12 times with no answer. It was a simple mistake. Our order number was 166 and the order we received was a door dash order number 66. We live about 25 min from the location and did not want to go back after they didn't answer. We ordered our food at 615pm We received food that was ordered at 153pm. (As you can see on the receipt) Crazy!!! We just threw everything in the garbage. If you eat at the restaurant, you can get what you order corrected, When it is a Door Dash order, you are out of luck. Recently, I ordered the chicken sandwich with extra mild seasoned butter, and it came without any butter at all. It was disappointing to say the least.
