Fixed the ac long enough to get paid and get out of there. Within 2 hrs our ac was off again. He wanted me to make another appointment and charge me again for doing nothing no doubt. We struggled for a week pumping the pan out til a friend of mine that does HVAC came over and simply put a cap on the pvc pipe and everything worked fine since. The other HVAC guy said that this guy had to have removed the cap because the AC would not have worked for all the years we were here if that cap was not on. The pan would have kept filling with water. And once it fills so much it auto cuts off. Watch this one!! He will try to overcharge for sure!! Here is one for the books. We just got a call from the building inspector because someone reported a violation. Not going to say who it was but you get the picture. This guy is something else. Our review was 100% warranted. And look what happens when you tell the truth about his service! If you use him then you get what you get!!! The reason he comes out the same day is he has almost no business. With how we were treated and someone reporting us for a violation as retaliation to my honest opinion just shows you the type of person this guy is. I have lived in Stephens City since 1972 and will do everything in my power to warn others about this person. I am pretty sure he is a one man company so you are going to get him if you call. They then send an invoice with the quoted amount - $2,600 and tell you you will receive the annual discount on that amount, bringing it down to $2,300. Later they charged the full price of $2,600 and state that the full amount already included the discount, even though the invoice shows no discount. They then send an updated invoice of $2,600 saying the discounted amount is already applied. After two times of doing this, I will not be working with this company again.

They serviced the cooling in 2019 and did not disclose upon our purchased in June of 2020. Our family and pets were having horrible nausea, headaches and called in Gordon May 2023 and he said there is a Freon leak and that his company serviced the system in 2019. He added more Freon even though we asked why a New unit would be leaking. He said he didn't know, but could check for $300 more dollars. He got it running and left after we paid $450 for service call without any diagnosis. Continued problems, so we called in another company for second opinion. The Freon Gordon added destroyed the havoc coil and compressor and filled our furnace eztrap with Freon and oil. That is what was making us sick. There is leak in the furnace evaporator coil where they retro fitted the drainage pipe. So the entire system inside and out has to be replaced. A $10k loss for us. Cool Techs takes no accountability and disregards the medical harm caused to us and our pets, let alone the fire hazard to us and the entire condo building. I will file a DPOR, BBB complaint and we will be filing court documents against this company. Hopefully, the State of Virginia will not allow this company to ever work here again.

We called around and no one close by would come that day or would charge an outrageous emergency service fee. Then we had the good fortune of finding Gemini Services - Mark arrived about an hour after we called and had the problem fixed within a half hour. He charged us his regular fee for only 1 hour (minimum) even though he had to travel over half an hour to get to our home. This week, the upper level heater had stopped working sometime in the morning. I called Mark and he arrived in the afternoon and carefully diagnosed the problem in the igniter. He cleaned the wires and repaired it in no time. Again, he only charged me for 1 hour. I should mention that his hourly rate is VERY reasonable. Sadly, Mark does not do installs, only repair services. I am so happy to have found an honest HVAC repair man.
