The coffee was clearly watered down, you could tell not only by the color but also in the taste. The waffle and pancakes were delicious however the eggs were plain and tasted old. I was visiting my mom from Georgia and she brought me here. At first I was skeptical. But wow did we have some great food! We came for a late breakfast on a weekday. I had the steak omelette, my son had the chicken strip basket and my daughter had the chocolate pancakes. Everything was amazing. The fries as my kids said were so delicious. The steak omelette was the best I have had. My mom actually had a substitution, so that may depend on who you get to have it happen. I hope I can come back next time we visit! read more

Food was awful over cooked lacy eggs but under cooked white. After remaking them cook came out and said he makes 1000 eggs a day and he knows they are right that we are being difficult. Then proceeded to take $3.00 for the eggs. Terrible experience won't be back. read more

I recently came here this weekend with my boyfriend and his family. This place has an old school diner vibe, so if you're into that then you might like the atmosphere of this restaurant. Here are the reasons why I gave this place 2 stars: - we weren't greeted by any of the employees when we first walked in - none of the staff offered to help push two empty tables and chairs together so that our group (8 people) could sit together so we ended up doing it ourselves - it took a good 10 minutes before our waitress finally came to greet us at our table and hand us our menus - our waitress took our orders on her cellphone which seems like a disaster waiting to happen if you ask me - we waited 30 minutes for our food - they didn't get some of our orders right - we were missing some items that we ordered - the Diet Coke tasted like shit - all the waitresses and waiters seemed very young and unorganized - our waitress never apologized about missing items, getting orders wrong, etc - our waitress never checked back in on us once we had our food, we literally had to track her down for refills - the food was nothing special and didn't seem 'homemade' - the prices were okay but definitely not worth it due to the shitty quality of food - the restaurant was kind of dark and dingy - the staff is able to dress in street clothes and some of them looked like slobs - waitresses/waiters made it seem like we were being a burden when we would ask them for some ketchup and ranch Maybe I'm being too harsh or maybe this restaurant had an off day but seeing as how they weren't that busy when we were there, I expected better customer service and I was hoping for a great first time experience here. Not worth the hype... Are they good for groups? Kind of. Is their food good? Not really. Are their prices fair? No. We went for breakfast with family, and on my ticket we had 2 adults and 2 young kids (who split a kids meal). Without ordering anything extravagant, we walked out spending over $30. In my book, that's not acceptable. For a Denny's quality breakfast, I expect the price to match. There's a HUGE difference between making something 'homemade' and heating something from a box / mix, like pancakes. And, they're obviously experiencing some confusion deciphering between the two... (As are the rave reviews for the 'delicious home cooked food'.) The service was good at first, but once we received our food the waitress was non-existent while we had missing items and needed boxes / refills later on. The entire check was also rung up incorrectly and everyone in our party had incorrect items on their tickets that turned out to be a major hassle to correct. All of our meals were delicious!!! The wait staff is super friendly and the service is quick! We can't wait to come back and try some different things. This time the kids tried the Mac n cheese. Stopped by Fry's to meet a friend of mine for breakfast on my way to San Antonio. It's right off of the highway so it was the perfect place to stop and grab a bite to eat, however, if you're driving too fast or if you blink...you might miss it! Fry's is a simple, local spot with an old country feel to it. The restaurant is modest in size, however you can still bring a nice group of people in and be comfortable with the seating arrangements. The restaurant is clean along with the restroom (two stars for this, lol). They have an all-day menu with breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Everything on the menu looked pretty good, avocado burritos, chicken fried steak, etc. I ordered the ham, egg and cheese croissant and it was perfect. A nice think layer of eggs, sliced ham and melted cheese were the perfect meal - and a bonus hash browns come with it! It was a great 'on the road' meal because I didn't feel too bloated or stuffed afterwards. Fry's was the perfect place for a quick breakfast and impromptu gift exchange spot, lol! read more

Belton has very few options for breakfast other than donuts or tacos. When Fry's opened, we were excited to try it. We have since been back several times, every time with the same experience. If we had other options, we would absolutely not continue to patronize this restaurant. The service is horrendous. We have sat for extended periods of time with no service. Our orders have repeatedly been inaccurate. When properly prepared and served, the food is very good. We love the pancakes. While I had the blueberry pancakes, my husband had the liver and onions. I have to say, best presentation of pancakes, but tasted maybe missing something in the batter, vanilla maybe. Hubby said the liver and onions were good, he would have preferred a bit more gravy and rolls to go with it. I was told about this diner from a local. We went today and were very disappointed. Quick seating, quick drinks, quick order taking but it took forever to get our food. If the food was great, the slowness would be understandable but it was warm at best, the hash browns were overdone, and the eggs in the omelet were super thin (as if they didn't use enough eggs to make a fuller omelet). I have eaten at Fry's 3 times. The service was fair - All 3 times... The food was great the first 2 times. Today - The coffee refills stopped at 2 and a cursory - "everything okay" was met with an unresponsive nod to the issue explained in the following: ...there must be challenge communicating with the food attendant to assure, in this case, that no onions or pico would be inside the Avocado burrito - instead of on the side as requested. I spent the rest of the meal picking out the onions... When I looked in the itemized bill, she failed to write what I asked. When we told her that there was pico in the burrito...no response. In all fairness, she got the other orders right. May try 1 more time... read more

My daughter raved about this place so we decided to go breakfast. We walked in and were overwhelmed by an unpleasant odor which caused an unpleasant experience. Don't believe the hype about poor service and poor quality food. Well....you can, but that just means this place will stay the diamond in the rough that we've gladly gone two since discovering it for a couple of years. It's not in a great part of town and it's in a low-rent strip-mall. But, once you are inside, it's great. Breakfast is arguably the best in town. But, for us, the lunch and dinner entrees are what make us come back. Chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, chicken ceasar salads are our go to items. The sides are great, too. And, to top it off, it's cheap. It's the one restaurant in town where my wife, daughter, and myself can all get something that makes us happy. Don't go expecting top dollar service and food. We were desperate for a real, home cooked breakfast and found Fry's in Belton. I had the French toast breakfast with bacon and eggs. It was delicious and served hot from the kitchen. My husband had the bacon omelette that he said was perfect with bacon just the right crispness. (not burned) The waitresses were friendly and kept filling our coffee cups. I have not had lunch here, but breakfast is great! All that was missing was the old guys that usually sit around cafes and drink coffee while talking about the "good old days." Me and a friend went to this location for a dinner and the experience left much to be wanted. The staff were always talking to each other and not us. When we asked for helped they seemed as if we were interrupting them. For one I have to say when your at work your there to work. Also the food came out after about 20 minutes so that was not bad at all. The food however tasted like year old grease. There was a coat of freeze that layered the food and plate.
