Their pharmacy is actually terrible, they'll tell you what day and time to pick up your prescription, and you'll go even later then what they tell you and it's still not ready. I have medication that is life or death and it's not the first time this has happened to me. It's been around the sixth. They need to get a grip. Not the best Fry's in town, not the worst Fry's in town, just kind of average. The produce is usually pretty good, but the selection's kind of small. If you're planning on shopping here, make sure to get one of their discount cards as it makes the prices quite reasonable. The best part of this grocery store is the dude that welcomes you when you come in. That dude is awesome. He's always friendly and happy. There is a required mask policy for the city of Tucson, but they choose to ignore it. Half of the shoppers do not wear masks and even some employees did not have masks on. When I called to ask them to enforce the policy, I was told they can not prevent people from shopping for not wearing mask. When I called their corporate office, I was told all stores must comply with local government orders. So they need to enforce the required mask policy. read more

COVID-19 seems to be non existent to the employees and shoppers here. Several shoppers with no masks, people eating and drinking while shopping in the store and it was EXTREMELY crowded. One guy left his window to go repack a ladies groceries. There were plenty of baggers to do that. You had a glitch in your computer so 2 people stood at the window for the hour. This is where it's at! You wanna get some food in the middle of the night -- fry's has it all. This fry's is the nearest to my place than other ones but this is a pretty decent one. It claims to be one of the cleanest store in Tucson so I give them mad kudos for that. The workers are kinda ehhh. The cashiers talk to each other a lot of the times; don't talk to me; just say hi. They talk in their language and yell across the lines to talk about stuff. I think it's kinda ridiculous, if you ask me. I like this one cashier, I think she started not too long ago; idk her name but she is like the only one that is nice enough to talk to you and focuses on her job. So, apparently this Fry's doesn't want ADA customers shopping at their location!!!!! PLEASE BOYCOTT Fry's!!!!!! Two of my roommates went shopping at this Fry's location on Friday & Saturday, Oct 9 & 10. One of which is legally blind! They spent nearly $300 on Friday and decided to go back on Saturday to stock up on more groceries and spent another $200. That's $500 in groceries in 2 days. On their visit on Saturday, they had another one of their friends with them to help guide our Blind roommate. After completing their shopping and checking out, their friend lead our blind roommate to the Men's room, while our other roommate waited for their ride. Once all three were out front, far to one side of the store entrance, the store Security guard came out screaming at them that they couldn't be standing out in front of His store with two of His grocery carts full of groceries. And accused our Blind roommate of smoking in the Men's room, even though he's a non-smoker. This Fry's and their Security personnel have absolutely No compassion for the Blind or the ADA, even after spending $500 in their store. Every disabled person, in not just Tucson, but all of Arizona need to Boycott the Fry's Grocery chain! read more

Ablosute mess off customer service, the floor staff are unhelpful, know nothing, and the phone operators are rude and refuse to do the slightest amount of work to help you. The store sells surprisingly little with the sections being a mess and to top it all off, they have no security to walk women to their cars in the sketchiest intersection in town. This fry's is unmatched in customer service. Jean, the cashier, was an absolute ray of sunshine during my visit. During this chaotic time, she was extremely patient with the guests in front of me in line even if they were being short with her. Alright, so I'd like to address the people talking about "pan-handlers" outside of this particular Frys; they are there because they have been forced out of the richer predominantly white neighborhoods and suggesting that you police them is disgustingly out of the question. Loitering is only offensive because someone isn't paying for something. Can you imagine if they cracked down on all the random teens in malls for hanging out and not buying something? As for the grocery store, it resides in the neighborhood I grew up in and I have seen it change in many ways over the past 28 years or so. I can remember when there was no gas pump. I can remember when the Subway wasn't there (I've had my hair cut at the salon that previously occupied that space).I remember the Dollar Tree being Factory 2U, a clothing outlet similar to Ross. I remember the carts before they were auto clamping based on sensors under the ground. I can remember not having to use the automated checkout because there wasn't one (those checkouts, by the way, are why some of the homeless people around there are homeless; they decrease jobs exponentially). And I can definitely remember when this grocery store was an utter piece of shit. Currently, however, this is not the case. I'm not saying they don't have room to improve, but the general demeanor of the staff product availability is great. Most people understand that you should be careful when buying fish and meat, and this is no exception. I don't really consider any fish purchased in Arizona to be fresh (a lot of shrimp and whitefish suppliers are in Japan, for example), but I've been purchasing meat here for years and have not had a problem. The bakery bread is fresh, the produce is excellent (sometimes cheaper than Sprouts even), and the overall atmosphere of the store is not "dark and grim", as some have said, but bright and inviting, especially after the remodel they had a few years ago. This is your typical grocery store. I'm not saying it's the best or the worst, it's just there. Yes, I've heard this store referred to as "the ghetto Frys" on more than one occasion, but you know who I see shopping there most of the time? U of A kids, probably your kids. Does that make it ghetto? Not unless you think of your kids as hoodlums. I'm betting, if you did, you probably wouldn't be sending those hoodlums to college anyway. Bottom Line: Frys is a corporate run grocery store that is set up to have every location nearly identical, much like Wal-Mart. There's nothing different about this Frys from any other Frys, and I like Frys. You want to bitch about the neighborhood? Fine. Start your own neighborhood reviewing website and take your rancid opinions away from Yelp. This is not the place for that. read more

Fry's master card customer service does not give accurate information on the accumulation of fuel points using a Fry's master card BEFORE applying for a card - the real truth is that fuel points accumulate only for purchases at a Fry's store when the VIP card is scanned - no gas points accumulate if you pay for your gas with a Fry's master card -- no reason for me to shop Fry's any more now that I finally learned the truth - hope this is helpful read more

This is my grocery store, the only one I go to. I hit up Safeway on broadway on the rare occasion that I'm south of campus, but Fry's is my spot! Agreeing with Tim, the dude at the front is definitely the best part of this store, the way he greets us every time just puts a smile on my face. But yeah, the prices are great, especially with a VIP card and the staff is usually helpful and quick. I get my shopping done pretty quickly and routinely as the products are generally always in the same spot. The place isn't usually too crowded unless you're there on a Saturday or Sunday, even so it's not a madhouse. Just an average grocery store in an average spot. read more

This is an okay grocery store. The way they organize the aisles can be confusing. There is an aisle for Asian/Latin American food and then you find Indian elsewhere. They are also lacking in options. Couldn't find basil, almond milk, or red grapes this last trip. Pretty basic stuff. They do accept major credit cards and have a membership card. read more

About the worst Fry's I have ever been in. I like the location because it is the closest Fry's to my apartment and it has the gas pump service. I may be one of the few people still using checks instead of plastic. It seems almost every time I have went through check out, the cashiers do not know how to or just "forget" to look at my personal check to see if it needs to be filled out by their check printer. I had one cashier, when I handed her the check, tell me to fill it out (all that is necessary now and for the past couple of years is to sign a check the printer will print all the information) -- I asked her why she couldn't run it on her printer to do the front of the check -- she said "it doesn't do that" -- I asked "why" -- she said "it just doesn't" and I said that was strange, every other printer at a Fry's will and she proceeded to inform me she has worked at Fry's for 27 years and they never have told her how to or to do checks using the printer. It was too busy for me to ask for a Manager to be called -- she filled in the check herself as I refused (that was on Sunday)!!! Yesterday I went in and went to another line where a guy was checking, I handed him the check, he put it into the printer and printed ONLY THE ENDORSEMENT!!! He looked at it and asked me to fill the front out!!! I asked why he didn't print it in the printer?? He said he didn't look at the front before he printed the back to see that I left it blank -- "SO SORRY" he said -- but at least he did know he screwed up!!!! So I filled it out, scowled and left!!! They have crammed a full service store into a small space. The front of the store at the check out stands is uncomfortably crowded compared to most newer (built) Fry's. There is no floor tiles just a patch work of painted cement and this makes the store look even crappier compared to other stores. If this wasn't the closest Fry's for me I would never go back there. Usually if I have a little more time, I will drive the extra couple miles up 1st Ave. to the Fry's at 4036 N. 1st Ave. which is so much better store and friendlier staff. read more
