The one star belongs to the young man at the sushi bar. There are far better choices then Fu-Ki. This was our first time, waited 25 minutes for a table. Was asked by hostess if the sushi bar would work. We said we would rather wait. 10 more minutes later we get seated, a different hostess takes us to the sushi bar to be seated. Oh well. We are on a tight schedule. So we didn't say anything. We get seated at 6:45pm. We order one appetizer, two sushi rolls, and two hibachi meals. We noticed that a couple that was seated 20 minutes after us was getting their food before us. I ask the sushi chef if he had our orders. The sushi chef told us He did not. So we Grabbed our server asking for our appetizers at 7:20pm on our sushi. The server must have forgotten to place our orders altogether because the sushi chef then got our order. He quickly prepared the order. We got our sushi even before we got our Edamame. I finally ask to speak to a manager because we are on a tight schedule. My fiancé had an appointment at 8pm for his vaccine... which by the way I had to bribe him with dinner because he didn't want to do it. I spent months trying to convince him to do this. Tracy the manager came to see us, she lacked any empathy. Didn't even apologize for the service error. Tracy said she would look into our complaint. Tracy came back and said I don't know why it happened but we will speak to the server and she will comp off the Edamame off the bill. Next Tracy said our food would be right up. 15-20mins go by still nothing. My fiancé had to leave. He also had to walk to Walgreens while I waited for our order. The food came out and I had to ask for them to box his up. I then waited forever for the bill. The server finally placed the bill with no apology, I stopped her and asked for her manager again. I told the server and Tracy that I wanted my fiancé hibachi meal taken off since he didn't get to eat it. Again no empathy, no service background, no smile , Tracy said I am not going to take it off. It's her Resturant policy. I said then call your owner or GM, Tracy said no. So I said You can comp off edamame but you cannot comp off a meal entree? I said that it's just a flat out lie you have the authority to do it you don't want to do it, the manager Tracy gave me a smirk and basically agreed, and then went back to her "Resturant policy". I refuse to pay and she just stood there with a glare and demanded that I would pay. I ended up paying. We won't be back. The food quality isn't worth their prices compared to other restaurants in Coeur d'Alene and Spokane. You don't even get both soup and salad with the hibachi. Save your time and money and go somewhere else especially when you don't even get a manager that is competent to make decisions. The silver lining was the new kid as a sushi chef he had more empathy and service than his manager did. read more

What has happened to Fu-ki? We have been to Fu-ki several times but this time was simply horrible. We ordered Teppan meals to go, one hibachi chicken, one teriyaki chicken. The chicken was precooked and dry with absolutely no flavor. There were 2 shrimp included with hibachi vegetables. The shrimp were the size of a 50cent piece, dry and also flavorless. The vegetables, mostly onion, were mush. We dumped both our dinners and took this as a loss. Time to find another restaurant. We won't be back. read more

Extremely poor quality food! Example; Photos in menus show Ahi Tuna chunks for their salad. Salad came with ground tasteless something, maybe fish but doubt it was tuna. Service was minimal. waitress couldn't manage the order properly. Air conditioner wasn't working in the room that we were seated in. Fantastic sushi! We were at a baseball tournament and stopped in to kill time between games. Staff was extremely friendly and the food was fresh and delicious. After a bit of a rough start with the hostess we where set into the hands of BJ our chef. Ask for him by name and I promise you will not be disappointed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE GLUTEN FREE. I have been here several times and every time the customer service has not been good at all. The food is decent, but the customer service really ruins this restaurant. I recently went and let the waitress know that I was gluten free. We modified the order to accommodate my food allergy. When I received my food it was covered in tempura which is essentially breadcrumbs. I let her know as soon as she put the food on the table that I was allergic and could not eat it. She told me that since it was modified she couldn't take the food back, and I should have told her that I was gluten free. When I told her that I did specify that I was gluten free, the waitress actually started arguing with me and the whole party with me saying I did not tell her I had an allergy. We dropped it despite everybody having a meal besides me, I was going to order a different roll, but the waitress was actively avoiding us after this. We didn't get any refills, nobody came to check on us. We didn't even get the check. We had to go find someone to bring us the check and had to ask for the check two separate times. Overall, such a terrible experience and do not recommend to anyone, especially if you have an allergy. read more

Ok, first off staff was very friendly. That is about as good as it got. Apparently the A/C was not operable as it was not warm inside, it was downright HOT! Staff apologized for the discomfort even before we mentioned it. It was our third and last visit. Each visit, the "quality" of the food has significantly gotten worse. The chicken fried rice was really very blah and tasteless. The lobster dish did not taste like any lobster I had eaten previously. Food was mediocre at best. This is the first time I could not finish my sushi. The tuna nigiri tasted bad. They poured this sweet soy sauce over everything, which was unnecessary. I want to taste the fish. Ugh this is so sad to write. I've been to Fuki in both Post Falls and Hayden, and regretfully every time we've been back the service has gotten worse and worse. Our waitress tonight was clearly either high or super confused, so the orders got mixed up when they arrived at our table. Three of the rolls were on one plate (one of which should have been vegetarian) and instead of leaving the messed up roll on the table and bringing a new one over, the manager took the whole plate back to the kitchen where we watched them just scrape off the mistake. Then they brought that same plate back and the new avocado roll about 20-25 minutes later. We still paid for everything, even though the veggie tempura had to be taken to go because it wasn't ready till we were ready to get the heck out of there. Unfortunately we couldn't express our concerns to a manager because the only one in the restaurant was the one breaking food health codes. We visited for first time tonight. Had a friend from out of town visiting and everyone loves sushi. We ordered the family boat and a side of edamame to start. The food came about 20 minutes after placing our order which was fine. We had to remind the waitress that we ordered edamame so it came 5 minutes later. The food tasted fine but didn't seem complete. When we were done eating she came to our table and said that she forgot the rest of the dish. So we had to wait another 15-20 minutes and then out came the teriyaki chicken and tempura. I've always loved the sushi here, but yesterday I was so bummed with the service I felt I had to leave a review. My friends and I were going out for the last time until going back to school, so we decided we would pop in. When we arrived, the hostess said it would be about a 30 minute wait and we were totally fine with that. We could tell they were busy because there were a few families already waiting, so we went outside and waited for 30 minutes. After the time passed, we decided to sit inside so they wouldn't forget about us. When we went inside we were not greeted and actually ignored for 30 more minutes, until a table was ready. I have worked in restaurants before and saw plenty of tables getting up and leaving that just needed to be bussed, and I understand you don't want to swamp the server, but we waited an hour when we were told 30 minutes. I really enjoyed my sushi, but I am just so bummed that the service was not that great, especially for just a Tuesday night. read more

When I went to order they wouldn't offer the same rolls at the tappan table as the have at the sushi bar 6 ft. Away. We arrived at 5 p.m. and the stools at the sushi bar were upside down even though they opened at 12. There were three sushi chef standing behind the sushi bar. So I had to order off of a different menu. They did not bring me a small plate to eat my sushi on the roles were terrible there was crab shell in the crab and a foul-tasting whatever in my other roll. For some reason even the eel Sushi was bad. The waitress wasn't even sure what she was doing. I had to ask for all my accoutrements since they didn't offer. We were so disappointed in our dinner here. We came in thinking it would be similar to Benihana and while it was, the quality of the food did not compare. The restaurant was run down and people were tripping over the carpet at the entrance that was coming up. Our chef did his spinning of the utensils, blast of fire and that was about it. Our order was not confirmed when he came to our table and my husband and I ordered the same meal (NY steak and shrimp)but with different cooks on our meat. The chef pulled our meat off at the same time so it was slightly undercooked for me. The fried rice was lacking flavor, the "onion soup" was broth with nothing else in it. Salad dressing was some pink stuff that was not good. The topper for us was when I was eating my shrimp and popped a bite in my mouth to realize it was still raw in the center. I mentioned it to the waitress and she said "ok, I'll let the chef know". Nothing else was said and no apology or anything done that would warrant coming back. We spent $60 on our food (no drinks) and would have rather spent it somewhere else. read more

Had delivery a year ago and it was decent sushi. Have tried the last couple days to get a delivery again and it states that the business is closed. Called the delivery service and they called the restaurant to find out what was happening. The manager told the rep to have me come into the restaurant and pay and wait for them to prepare it. If I wanted to go to the restaurant and wait I would go get a table. If they don't want to have delivery they need to remove themselves from the delivery websites. Honestly... terrible. Especially for how expensive it is. We wanted to try the new Hayden Fu-Ki because we absolutely love the Post Falls location but we regret it. We didn't get the chicken we ordered and filet mignon was chewy and burnt on one side to the point of crunchy. Our all time favorite, the fried rice, was undercooked in some parts, burnt in others and grossly lacking flavor. Not sure if it's just new chefs or what, but we felt very unheard and pushed aside about our concerns and management felt the compensation was worthy of a $5 gift card to return again. We went there for my sons birthday and got turned away when they said that we can't take you until 7:15pm and we were there right at 5pm, only to hear the staff talking that a party of 6 was late to there reservation. So why not have a party of 5 that's willing to pay right then and there be seated and guarantee to make money versus lose money on a party of 6 that was late and possibly not showing up. I know I am only one of many that will patronize the place, but after today they lost my business and will not return. read more
