Was really in the mood for a Japanese Curry and I started looking for places, and found that this ramen joint was serving it. I decided to order the Pork Katsu curry with rice which came out to ~$20ish. The spice level was pretty mild, but the flavour was spot-on. It was cooked well, seasoned well, was not oversalted, and the balance of the dish was impeccable. The rice went great with the dish, as it should. Definitely not Coco's Curry, or anything you would expect to get in Japan, and no add-ons or anything special, so you cannot just add cutlets or potatoes like you normally would be able to at a Japanese Curry place. But this was obviously a ramen place so as long as the dish tastes good, there is nothing to complain about...which is exactly what I experienced. Service was very friendly, and ambiance was just what you would expect. I cannot comment on the ramen or any of the other dishes, but definitely endorse their Pork Katsu curry with rice if you are in the mood for a Japanese-style curry. read more

The ambiance was nice. Lots of decor on the walls, clean restaurant. The restaurant got busy at 4 PM on Saturday. The service was good, friendly staff. My husband and I ordered Spicy King Ramen and shared the kaarage chicken. The kaarage chicken came with a homemade Japanese mayo dipping sauce. The kaarage chicken was better than the ramen. The secret lies in their spice ball+ broth. Overall a good experience - generous food portions, hot ramen, extremely quick service and decent ambience. We had Vegetarian curry rice, vegetarian ramen and spicy Pork chashu Ramen (I mean it! It was ) I added a bit of the spicy broth to my vegetarian flare and then it turned out perfect! Came here thinking I would get some ramen. It turns out I got the spiciest noodles on the menu. Ramen is a comfort food for me, so when I found out it was spicy, I freaked out. Heard of this place from a co- worker, I love Ramen and am in search of an establishment that could be my favorite go to. I just love a good ramen! This place is good but not sure worth of my forever, it's not the same as other ramen places. They make you pay extra for ingredients ( sweet corn, fried garlic, onion, ect.) where other places have it in their bowls already, so by the time you add these things it gets expensive. Visiting Spokane for a graduation and found this hole in a wall GEM! They have an extended menu from ramen to rice plates to comforting curry plates. The interior is clean and tidy with Japanese decorations ranging from origami to ink paintings. I tried their tonkotsu ramen and the broth was very delicious with thick cut pork slices that melt in your mouth along with melting soft boil egg. They're also very generous with portions. I also tried their katsu with curry, very delicious and flavorful. My friend said it's the best in town there. Green ice tea also very good as they make each as ordered. Staff is really nice and if you don't like certain things, they can modify it for you. Great location for lunch or dinner. Only down side is they close early and it does get busy on the weekend. Fast service and really great price. The food took about 10 minutes, and additional noodles were $3.50. Up charge for $1.50 to make them udon. Lots of seating, but just note it's a little cold in there because all the seating is in front of the door. Friendly staff also, and the food was very good and very plentiful for the price. Ramen noodle soup here! Very tasty soup and delicious noodles, perfect egg, and soft pork for the tonkatsu ramen. Spicy vegetable ramen soup was delicious as well. We also ordered the gyoza, karrage chicken and fried tofu. The tofu itself was plain but with the sweet and chili sauce it was more flavorful. The chicken came with sauce but it was mostly the mayo taste. A yuzu taste would have been much better. The staff were friendly and took orders in a timely fashion. This was a clean little ramen place off Division. The waitress was nice and patient and the food came out fast and hot. I ordered the Spicy Tonkatsu and my husband ordered just the regular Tonkatsu. There were a good amount of noodles but we thought the broth was very flat and the Spicy didn't have any heat. In addition the Chashu was very tough and dry. Sorry, I really wanted to give more stars cuz we've been wanting to try this place out for a while. I was not impressed. I thought the flavor was lacking in the broth in my bowl of ramen. I didn't like the pork. It was really fatty. It wasn't real warm either. The place was plain but clean and looked like it was pretty busy. Lots of people eating there. The ambiance is pretty basic. Don't expect to be treated like royalty. You are there for the amazing ramen, not the service. That aside, the ramen is the absolute BEST in the region. Easy parking in the front. The inside isn't very big. They have less than 10 tables and their kitchen is visible too, which is cool. They seem to have a lot of take out orders as I saw them packing them up by the kitchen. Staff are very nice. Food came out in appropriate time, all at once. The portions are significantly larger than many other ramen places I've been! The broth is not too salty and the noodles have a nice chew. The only thing I don't like is the lack of toppings. There is an egg, two large slices of meat, and green onions/ginger. Of course, more can be added with additional cost, but I find them to be a bit overpriced. There is actually another King of Ramen location in Pasadena so I thought it was interesting that Pasadena and Spokane were the two places they chose to be. Are they the king of ramen? Maybe not the king but certainly in the royal family. Good quality ramen with bone broth as a base for their dishes. Plus the quantity is definitely there. From the outside the place looked closed. So many of the businesses around it were closed it was hard to tell. And they are storing product in the front of the store since they are in COVID mode but don't let that stop you from going in (or calling ahead like we did). FOOD: Really good ramen. Great quantity of noodles and base (had so much base we ended up not quite using it all). Cha shu (pork belly) was a little different than we are used to but still good. And comes with a soft boiled egg and garnish. Tons of noodles. And their spicy IS spicy! But very flavorful. SERVICE: Came in a good size bowl that held everything well. It was cold and wet in Spokane and my family wanted Ramen. They had been telling me about this place for months now and had posted pictures of it online and told me that they love the food and for a person that is obsessed of Ramen (me) I was intrigued. First off I went in first bc I saw how crowded it was from the outside, I wanted to make sure they can seat us. As I kind of known, it was crowded so the guy told me to wait until something opens up, which was fine. As I was standing there I can't help but noticed how unattractive the interior this place has. There were stacked up boxes on the left hand side as you enter the restaurant. There was no division whatsoever from the door to the main dining so when the door is opened all the cold, winter air goes inside while you're eating ( we had to wear our coats the whole entire time we ate), and the bathroom (the kids are laughing and told me to be prepared lol) they only had one that's shared by all except for the employees. There must've been six tables and a bar which didn't really had lot of chairs or no chairs to begin with. I was really puzzled by how the interior design of this place is done. There's no ounce of beauty. The ambience is absent. The bar regardless if there's customers or not, it should have chairs on them. They keep taking chairs from the tables placing it in the bar for the customer as they come in. Customer service was also poor. No one came to asked if we needed anything else or even check up on us. I had to holler on the waitress as she passed by if we can get more drinks. Needless to say I wouldn't go back here but my poor family might since there's no other ramen place available or that I guess can beat this place yet. I even jokingly said that they (my sister) should just franchise Jinya. I'm not much of a big fun of Jinya, but even then it's still so much better than this one. I don't know what to advise you, but if you want a clean Ramen place, this is not it. You know what they say, if you want to know if the food is clean, go their bathroom. I've been wanting to try King Ramen for over a year, and finally made it in! In the early afternoon, there were only three other tables occupied the day we came in, so our food came out super fast. I ordered the minced pork ramen, and it had quite the kick! It was also a lot of food, so I get to have it again as leftovers. There's a lot of minced pork and a lot of green onions with just the right amount of noodles. Because this isn't a soup, you might be surprised at how fast it fills you up! I really liked the shredded ginger. The dish does, however, have a bit of grease (oil) from the pork. I liked it, but I probably wouldn't order it again.
