This location of Fuddruckers has problems but is also interesting. It's located in Chinatown and is uniquely two floors, with bars being on both floors, and is huge. At the time of my visit there were many problems including the air conditioning being broken, the credit card machine was not working correctly, it was understaffed, and the Coke Freestyle machines were basically empty. For the good? It had the full Fuddruckers menu including exotic meat burgers. After placing my order my food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. I do not think they offered the bottomless fries here, but the amount that came with my order was more then adequate. They have the full Fuddruckers toppings bar that was well stocked with options. The food was excellent with my burger being perfectly prepared. Would I come back to this location again? I'm not sure, but even with the issues they had, I was able to dine and get back to the event I was attending in a reasonable amount of time. read more

I like to leave reviews that help people decide whether a place is worth their time and money, so here's my honest experience. The burger was just...okay. It wasn't bad, but for the price, I expected something that would really stand out. It definitely wasn't a 10/10, and I left feeling like it wasn't worth what I paid. Would I come back? I don't feel like I need to. One thing that stood out was the cashier's customer service or lack of it. There wasn't much friendliness or engagement, which doesn't make for a great first impression. On the positive side, my food came out pretty quickly, and the condiment station was clean, stocked, and well organized. They also have two bars, but when I visited in the afternoon they were both pretty empty. My biggest issue, though, was the temperature inside. The AC wasn't working, and they had fans set up throughout the restaurant. I understand things break, especially in the summer, but in DC heat, eating inside without air conditioning made the experience uncomfortable. Fuddruckers is back in DC! (It's not in the same exact location, but you can find it in the same vicinity - across the street, right around the corner from the Chinatown arch.) The "classic" Fuddruckers is upstairs. They have Burger Bar by Fuddruckers on the main level (for guests 21+ only). We were feeling nostalgic and opted for the classic experience. We stopped by before a concert at Capital One Arena, so it was busier than usual. You order at the register and then seat yourself. There was a winding line, but it moved quickly. There was definitely some sticker shock at first - most of the items average to about $24-$25, which is pretty high for a "fast casual" spot. The exotic burgers were $27. These are stadium food prices outside of the stadium... I can pay the same price or less for a burger at a nice sit-down spot. To lessen the blow, the prices are for combo meals, which include a drink and fries. The drink is almost necessary to kill time. Aside from the price, my biggest knock is that kitchen service is sloooooow. We waited over 20 minutes for our food, others waited 30. They take your name down when you order at the register, and then they will call it over the PA system when it's ready. Order pick-up announcements seemed far and few between. People started crowding around the pick-up window, waiting for their orders to come out, because everyone was getting antsy. "Fast food" this is not. Granted, the place was busy and filled with fellow concert-goers, but there is a sign on their menu board that basically says everything is made fresh-cooked to order, so take a seat, enjoy your drink, and be patient! (I'm paraphrasing, but it's essentially a disclaimer saying, "We're slow, but don't say we didn't warn you.") This tells me the slowness is pretty commonplace. They have a Coke Freestyle machine (the touchscreen soda machine with a bunch of different flavor combinations), but I found the flavors to be weak. I think the ratios of syrup inside the machine are off. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak combo ($20) with tots. Annoyingly, they made my order wrong and served me the standard potato wedges instead. Since we waited so long for our orders, I didn't press the issue. They have a toppings bar where you can add lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, pico de gallo, banana peppers, etc. There's also a condiment station, but the piece de resistance is the nacho cheese machine! The melty cheese machine, offering both nacho cheese and jalapeño nacho cheese, is a game-changer. The fries already come seasoned (some are more salty and seasoned than others), but since they are the meaty potato wedge cut, you need some extra dipping sauce. Sure, there's ketchup available, but dispensing a warm blanket of nacho cheese over your fries is where it's at. The nacho cheese was great for dipping my sandwich and all the fries in. Yum, yum, yum! No major complaints about my Philly Cheesesteak. It was pretty standard- soft bread, shaved meat (not too greasy but a little on the dry side), cheese, grilled onions. Food was hot and fresh, but I wouldn't say it's worth the wait. I do think portion size is commensurate with what you're paying. My friend ordered the Ribeye sandwich and it was just as good as he remembered it. There was limited seating available, but we were able to snag seats at a table with another group. Staff did bus tables quickly to allow new diners to get seated. Tables also had paper towel rolls as the napkins. Some were a little grimy on top from condiment spills, etc., but that's more on fellow customers than the restaurant. Overall, I would say the food is overpriced for the quality, and while the nacho cheese is its saving grace, the wait for food was too off-putting for me. read more

Some friends wanted to meet there for dinner tonight for one of their birthdays. First off, we got our drinks and sat down. Then when they called us to get our food, a mouse ran across the floor! This mouse was running all over the dining area. Just then, they started calling us to pick up food. Completely botched our order. Gave us the wrong salad and when we told them we ordered the southwest salad, instead of making us the correct salad, they smothered the incorrect salad with salsa and corn chip strips and tried passing it off that way. The other salad was just gross. Burgers were mid. Ordered a side of fries which they forgot. Got the birthday girl's order wrong. Between the mice and the poor food, we decided to ask for a refund and left. As we were leaving, a mouse ran over the birthday girl's foot!!! I have a video of a mouse running across the dining room. Here we are, in DC to see a show and there just so happens that there's a fuddruckers within walking distance of the capital one arena... and fuddruckers has been on my bucketlist for Jeremy for years, big burger fan that he is... We should have gone to get chinese in chinatown across the street. The bar on the first floor was roped off and empty, even though all the televisions were on. A very kind, sweet employee yelled down the steps at us, to help us find the elevator to dining upstairs. It brings you out in the pass, which I thought was odd, but I do like being able to see behind the scenes. All the machines were broken. No fun soda, no cheese sauce... the "toppings bar" was open, but fairly useless since my burger came with lettuce, Onions, avocado, salsa and cheese, and was completely raw. I'm all for rare beef but this was a bad texture. Jeremy's two burgers were also raw and while he was hungry enough to plow through his first burger (something with an egg on it), once I started dismantling mine and explaining why, he didn't want much of the second... we threw away so much food and I absolutely hate that. The onion rings were decent. Jeremy got Tater tots of which he did not eat many and I didn't try them. Perhaps if there had been cheese sauce available we could have topped them better. So the whole experience was a bust. And the dining room was empty except for a table of people discussing not wanting to be the side piece. The worst service experience. We waited for the cashier to come to take our order. She never spoke to us or asked us what we would like to order. We told her what we would like to order. The only response was the word, "no." She said we couldn't order a shake because the ice cream MIGHT be too cold. Odd, I know. When we went to fill our sodas, they have only 1 soda flavor available in their soda machine. The air conditioner is broken and they have no trash cans around to throw anything away. Great attention to detail, they butter and toast the buns, the meat burger is cooked to your liking, and you get to add all of your favorite toppings - as many as you want! I also love their potato wedge fries and the seasoning is my favorite part! This locations is very modern and nicely decorated, I really enjoyed it and the service was 5 star as well! One negative: the AC was not working upstairs when we were there, but hoping that is just an off day and they get this resolved! read more

Was looking for a place to eat. Saw a sign there was a Burger deal until 2pm. You're supposed to order from an electronic menu scanned via your phone, but that didn't work - so I orders directly with the bartender. He seemed nice enough, but spent a good amount of time on his phone Cheese was an additional amount of money. Burger comes out plain and they give you a Ziploc bag of toppings for the burger. Fuddruckers has been one of my favorite burger spots since childhood, so needless to say I was excited when they returned back to Chinatown, and even more excited when I was able to try them out during an event I attended that was being hosted there. Unfortunately, that's about as far as the excitement goes for this review. On a positive note, the space is huge! There are two floors, with the bottom level having more of a bar vibe and the upstairs area having more of the traditional sit down restaurant style (there is a full service bar upstairs as well though). The service staff were friendly and helpful, which is probably the best thing going for them right now as they figure out everything as a newly opened restaurant. When it came to the food I wasn't impressed - in fact I was quite disappointed. I don't know if it was because of nostalgia, or because the food was off their catering menu, but the taste just didn't live up to what I remembered Fuddruckers to be. There was nothing particularly bad with the food, it was just that everything tasted okay and you could get the same quality of food from any random bar in the city. Luckily I wasn't paying because the menu prices are outrageous high in my opinion. I don't know if it's inflation or each location sets their own prices, but I don't remember ever paying $20 for their smallest combo burger meal. While I would like to give Fuddruckers Chinatown another try in a few months after they figure everything out, I'm hesitant to go back based on the blandness of the food and the steep prices. read more

Hey friends! I was so hype to head Fuddruckers was making a return. Similar to a lot of people, Fudds is nostalgic for me. I even had one of my birthday dinners at the Silver Spring location lol. Buttttt, unfortunately I see this location only being a tourist pit. I ordered the Half Smoke entree($17). Comes with a drink and fries. The hot dog was okay, it smelled weird lol. It also did not come with sautéed onions as the menu states. The fries were so amazing, just how I remember them. There's a soda tower with unique flavors as well as sweet/unsweetened tea available for drinks. Unfortunately, most flavors on the soda tower were out. It was nice to see that they had a toppings bar at this location, so nostalgic. The toppings bar was fully stocked and all items looked fresh. My boyfriend ordered the 1/2 LB burger($22). Also comes with a drink and fries. My boyfriend enjoyed it. His only distaste was that he requested medium rare and the cashier let him know that the kitchen only cooks medium and well done. That was strange, I've heard of restaurants only cooking certain temps, but for a restaurant where burgers are the main attraction is strange. Customer service was okay. The host was friendly. Our cashier was confused. Must've been in training. The pickup station was chaotic but that is to be expected of a new restaurant. The interior is huge. It features two floors with a full service bar on both floors. Plenty of tables to dine-in. Tables were clean and well stocked. A huge discomfort was the temperature inside. I've seen other reviews regarding this as well. The AC was not on at all. And I went on a 70-degree day. They should be able to afford some AC with those menu prices lol. Deliciousness - 4/5 Happiness - 5/5 A sparkling clean Fuddruckers a few miles from my office near the Capital One center? Yes please! Nostalgia rush? You know it! I absolutely loved Fuddruckers (yes I know, Fudds), growing up. And I'm happy to say that even being open only a week, this place replicates the excellent burger taste I remember from my childhood, while adding a bevy of fun drinks (at good Happy Hour prices) on top. The bottom floor is a bar that currently only serves apps food-wise (although they said they eventually hope to get the full menu down there)- mainly wings, sliders, and fried foods. The top is a traditional restaurant with burgers of all types and their awesome steak fries. I ordered the sliders and they were top notch in the taste department, extremely meaty for a slider with a beautifully toasted bun (and lots of optional jalapenos to load on top of them). I also quite liked both my drinks. One was a Jaws-themed one that looked prettier than it tasted. But my Ketel One vodka drink (mixed with peach schnapps) was outstanding. And the bartender, RJ, was a gentleman and very engaging. Large TVs were appropriately everywhere for an arena-adjacent location. As with any new place, there's some room for improvement. It took an extremely long time to get my food (nearly an hour) despite the bar area being relatively uncrowded for a Thursday. They announce to-go orders too loudly over a loudspeaker through the entire building. And it would indeed be nice to be able to access the full dinner menu at the bar. But I'm sure this will be ironed out. And none of this distracts from the main message. Fudds is back baby! read more

I will say up front that the staff working there was doing their best and working their butts off to get orders fulfilled. I was so excited when I heard Fuddruckers made it back from the dead, this was a place I would always lament losing from my childhood. Unfortunately this location seems to be in rough shape. Both soda machines were out of order as well as the cheese dispenser. The wait was very long and we had to line up with our cups in the same line that people were waiting to pick up their food to get our soda, leading to a mass of confused, hungry people. The food was not bad, but fairly unremarkable. My overall takeaway was that this is an establishment not doing well and struggling to have an identity in terms of the ambiance. All this being said I cannot in good faith recommend that someone go and spend $27 for a burger and fries here. There are way too many places in the immediate vicinity that provide much better value. read more

I visited Fuddruckers in Chinatown, my first visit to the chain in years. I visited just minutes before it opened for the day during the middle of the week, so there wasn't much of a crowd, but the service was fantastic in my experience. Every worker was super friendly and helpful. The ambiance was also nice, with multiple TVs showing sports shows and 2 floors worth of seating. I ordered the create your own burger and added avocado and blue cheese, along with the several free toppings. The food was tasty and I'd probably just drop a star because the price was a big high, amounting to over $35, but since I ordered the one pound burger, it filled me up for 2 meals. read more

I was underwhelmed with my first visit to Fuddruckers. I was a huge fan of the location in Pittsburgh a long time ago, and I was expecting the same quality here. The lunch special is pretty mediocre--a plain hamburger with a surcharge for cheese? Ugh. The wait time was extremely long for a pick-up window. The milkshake I ordered was never made until I asked someone to make it after over 20 minutes, and it barely filled 3/4 of the small cup. On top of that, it was barely blended. Stopped by here to eat the day after they opened for business and my goodness gracious, NO THANK YOU!!! I posted the below commend on their IG page and the"owner" got all sassy with me (see photos for screenshots). "Don't do it. Went yesterday and it is WAY OVERPRICED. Compare it with the prices at their Ashburn location. $28 for a bacon burger combo?!?! The bun was bigger than the patty and the burger was small for the price point. Oh and I forgot to mention one of the faucets in the women's bathroom didn't work properly, was out of jalapeno nacho cheese in the machine, at least 4 tables sat with trash and leftover food and no one came to clear the tables until after we had been there for 20 or so minutes.." Man this one hurts to write. This was my FAVORITE restaurant as a kid, and when I saw it was reopening I was over the moon. But oh man, the service is so horrific despite the food being good I just can't recommend it. Also it's expensive as all get up, Clyde's has a similar or better burger for 10 bucks cheaper and you'll get it way faster. I've been three times now. First was opening night they were woefully understaffed, wait was over an hour and they informed us at the end they didn't even have any wings. Second time a few months later was no better, well over an hour wait, was almost late to the Caps game despite being an hour and a half early. Third time last week, even longer, almost 2 hours, and they still only have two cooks. There was a group of 10-15 people waiting and they all requested refunds. Really unforgivable service, and they've had a year to fix it. Yikes guys, yikes. read more

Gone are the days when Fuddruckers was the gold standard of burgers. This experience left a lot to be desired. After a Caps game on a Sunday nothing better than a good burger, onion rings maybe some tots and a cold drink. We stepped in and this is not what we got. There was a lone person, manning the ordering station, not welcoming, not helpful and clearly not wanting to be there. Which is true for the rest of the staff as well. The Freestyle machines were both out of order; one out of diet soda and the other out of syrup. When we asked if we could get that resolved the very annoyed kitchen staff person with headphones on simply stated no. The tots were marginal at best. On top of everything, the restaurant seemed somewhat disheveled and just not clean. Overall, a very very disappointing experience considering Fuddruckers has always been fantastic place to dine. But for $26 a burger combo, I recommend many other places around Capital One Arena. read more

Bottom line up front- save your money and go to Clyde's I will not return, I do not recommend. Now for the review. WTH are you thinking????? I very much agree with the other comments on how this location is 20-30% more expensive to other Fudruckers. I really like Fudruckers but at $20-$25 for a burger you're crazy. Clyde's for the same meal charges $17. Service is walk up and order like you would expect so no real table service but with higher then table service prices. And then they have audacity to ask for a tip. The location is really cool the full bar is a nice touch and the renovations impressive. It has average noise. If prices were better matched to the area this could be a mop up win for the block. But at the rate they are going they will be closed on 6months. I have the following recommendations: 1) increase the perception of value. Lower the costs of your food to maybe even blow that of other Fudruckers, be open later after games. This will drive volume and popularity. 2) make customer service your priority. 3) maintain a value for your cocktail program and happy hour pregame specials. 4) make sure you have consistency in your drinks. I wrote a very similar review 2 years ago highlighting the shortcomings of the now very closed "Taffers" on the other side of the block. read more

The prodigal son, Sunny D, returned to Fuddruckers last night to retry if it had at all recaptured the magic from yesteryear, but alas, it was not the case. They still were out of all exotics so no elk (again!) and for some reason, the bar was closed, which actually tracks when considering this place is allergic to making money and is just keeping the spot warm until the next restaurant moves in. The burger was still delicious however, ignoring the fact that the bun was too big and every other bite was just bread and vegetables. Two stars. read more

The spot is a nice spacious two level burger bar, great for groups. The staff was very welcoming, efficient and made the vibe feel fun. They also had a nice variety on the menu.
