This place far exceeded my expectations. It's almost like a New York food cart and organic vegan juice bar had a baby and sent it to college in California. The menu is a lot to read and (and resembles a NYC food cart) but everything sounds good, so it's hard to choose. I went with the Greek rice bowl. It came out in record time but it was BLAZING HOT. I had to wait 5 minutes to even attempt eating it. It was good but it would probably be better *slightly* less blazing. The food was off the chart. The burger patty had the exact same texture as meat; but all veggies and filled with goodness. The side salad it came with.. oh my .. the sauce that accompanied it .. mouthwatering high vibrational food That's actually alive. I like what this place is all about. All vegetarian (maybe vegan?) options. A couple of downsides are that it's pretty expensive, and the presentation can be a hit or miss. Like today, they've raised their prices from the last time I was here, and my wrap was wrapped really messy. One side wasn't even wrapped, it was just left open for all the ingredients to fall out. I can't tell you how much I appreciate having Fudenjuce just down the street from my work and home. I turn to their freshly prepared drinks and dishes when I have had a long day at work and don't have the energy to make a healthy meal for myself. Juices: try the immune enhancer for a real quick boost. I feel it working its magic right away. Oh how I love the way the parsley stands out. Rice bowls: You can't beat the Happy Fun. Bits of fresh tomatoes and spinach...yummy A whole meal in itself. Shakes/smoothies: I have a hard time pinning down a favorite but I do believe a green monster can help brighten any day. Wraps: Morning Glory mini wrap, is a good sized meal for me. Packed full of egg, cheddar and spinach. And it even comes with a side salad with their to die for green goddess dressing. Mmm! I usually roll my eyes at places like these but there's a wide selection of shakes, juices, sandwiches, salads, wraps, etc. I tried the tofu and rice scramble wrap and the #19 goat milk shake (I know, I know but it was really good!). The shakes are really large - only come in 16 oz and 24 oz ... which does not help with the obesity epidemic but I split it with my friend. The shake had goat milk, dates, and almonds. A little too sweet but a good dessert. The environment is pretty sweet. You order at the stand and wait for your name to be called. They get very busy so the wait can be rather long but you can choose to eat outside or inside. They have a nice porch where you can relax and enjoy your meal while overlooking the road. Seriously incredible foods, epic proportions, huge menu variety, and fun atmosphere- even though it's all based out of a shake-like ordering window. Vegetarian based food but packs a huge punch of filling and flavorful ingredients. The wraps are incredible- MUST ORDER: Middle Eastern Burrito; filled with organic couscous, fresh tomatoes, black olives, baby spinach, Green Goddess tahini dressing, organic falafels, and TONS of hummus. Make sure to order with the Green Goddess dressing and hummus! Anything on their menu is great- the smoothies are killer- and tons of them. Coffee- pretty decent. Salads- fun and yummy! Fudenjuice would not be an authentic or acceptable fast-food, gourmet go-to for Nevada City, without me arriving there at precisely the same time every 7-8 years for a free cup of water from the one disgruntled worker that's ever worked there, and seemingly gets mistakenly rehired JUST on that day I get there, primed for my free water AND free recycled and reusable cup. I like this place. The food is always good, and I respect that during last year's PSPS they remained open with generators. I like the outdoor seating, and though parking is limited, there has always been something available nearby. So why three stars? First of all, the food takes a very long time. Up to 30 minutes sometimes to get out 3 or 4 meals. I understand that they have limited kitchen space, and that they are frequently busy, but it's something to think about if you are short on time. (side note: Smoothies are usually pretty quick and ALWAYS delicious) The second thing I feel is worth noting is the intentional lack of customer service. I'm sure they have a repertoire with some of their (more) regular customers, but I have never felt like they were interested in my business or my repeat business at all. It's not just me either, because I've sat there waiting for food for 30 minutes watching the alarmed faces when they're met with stoicism instead of friendliness. I'm sure some of that is due to the unnecessarily large menu which probably induces many questions. And that brings me to my third issue with Fudenjuce - why is the menu *sort of* vegan? They put honey in some dressings, there is sour cream in some otherwise perfectly cruelty free foods, and you have to order vegan cheese or you get the congealed mammary kind. I wish to whittle down their menu to two distinct categories - vegan, and not vegan. It loses its appeal as "vegan friendly" when you have to self-assess what is edible within each dish. At the very least, stepping up the customer service so that they know how to make meals vegan would probably bring this review up to a 4. It would at least show they care. We've been wanting to stop by this little roadside stand/shop for almost a year! We finally stopped and grabbed two smoothies. From the road and the name of the shop that's all you can really tell they have but upon closer inspection it seems they have a FANTASTIC array of organic salads, sandwiches, drinks etc. If you enjoy healthy options and additions you can't get ANYWHERE else (bee pollen, nutritional yeast etc etc.) then you need to stop here. You won't be disappointed by the variety or the flavor. Our shakes were delicious. I ordered the "dairy less date shake". It's made with organic dates, organic frozen banana, organic almond milk and almonds. It tasted great and was super fresh, and was saturated with TONS of chunks of dates and banana, which I loved. (If you don't like having to chew a little when your drinking a shake, this is probably not the option for you) There we're only two things stopping me from giving this quirky little hole in the wall stand 5 stars...it literally took 18 minutes to get two shakes "to-go", and the paper straws, yuck! If you take more than 5 minutes to drink your shake you can count on sucking on soggy paper. We'll probably stop in again but if it takes another 20 minutes for shakes you can probably assume that will be the last time we go! read more

Stopped by to check out the place & saw that they had a check in special... so, why not?! Staff was happy & seemed to be enjoying themselves. The place had indoor/outdoor seating & since it was a bit cold & dark by the time we got there, we opted for the warm place to sit inside to eat. I ordered the Spinach Salad (w/ the hopes o' subbing out the spinach for mixed greens since I loved everything else about it & was able to have just that! Yaya!). The artichoke hearts & avocado made the salad! The green goddess dressing was good - although subtle in flavor, so I sprinkled some hot pepper that they had on the table. It was cool to see a mix o' salt & pepper, liquid aminos, hot pepper - as complimentary items to add to your food, in a basket on the table. My dining companion ordered a rice bowl w/ a fancy name - which had mung beans, ghee, rice, carrots & spinach in it. It had a subtle flavor to it, but the liquid aminos were soy based, so they opted out o' adding anything to it. We also ordered some juices - apple & grapefruit - which the apple tasted like it had a hint o' carrot juice in it & the grapefruit made your lips pucker! Both were good, but different!
