Love this place! The atmosphere outside is beautiful, all the food we tried was divine, prices were reasonable and they were kind enough to seat us even though they had already stopped seating for the night. Loved the recommended red mango curry. YUM

The rest of my family is more into Thai food than I am. I was not properly introduced at the right time in my food journey apparently. When we made an overnight trip to Nevada City recently, several in the multi-generational group of aunts / uncles / cousins / parents remarked that there was a Thai restaurant with good ratings. I was happy to see that they had an outdoor patio, so we made that our dinner spot. They pushed two tables together on the patio to fit our group of eight. The patio space feels like a secret garden grotto with beautiful landscaping and a cozy feel. The sound of gently rushing water made it all the more charming. Sitting at the back of the historic brick building with its sculpted metal railings reminiscent of New Orleans was a wonderful visual addition to the experience. The gracious greeting we received and the good service throughout complemented the delicious food. We ended up ordering family style and sharing, and that provided lots of different tastes and textures to sample. Since I'm pretty much a novice at knowing what to order at a Thai place, it was a foodie adventure for me. I loved the crab pad se-ew, shrimp rolls, and fresh spring rolls in particular. The "regular" rice was prepared in a sticky rice fashion, and the actual "sticky rice" side order was actually too dense for my preference, but it all got consumed anyway. I sampled several of the more adventuresome dishes that my brother ordered with level-3 spiciness and I could handle them in moderation. I don't handle spicy foods too well these days. They're very accommodating in asking about your heat level and creating the dishes accordingly. Our niece, whose university graduation we were celebrating was thrilled that they had mango sticky rice dessert made with coconut milk, since she can't handle dairy milk. We all got to sample the mango, as it was plentiful. All the portions were really generous. It was ultimately such a great experience that I'm craving more of that pad se-ew right now as I write this review. Guess I'll have to see what our local Thai restaurants have to offer.

Authentic Thai food and amazing! Fresh and plentiful. They are beautiful interior and relaxing exterior. This is a destination place fur us now as we don't live in the area any more. So worth the drive.... Service is always top notch!!! If near by, make it a stop. You will not be disappointed. The pineapple fried rice and the Tom Yum soup is all that to talk about! And we tried the Kaitlynn Chicken, amazing!!!! Posting photos for you.

A group of five had dinner tonight in the outside patio dining area. Service was prompt and accurate, surprisingly we found parking at the restaurant. Food was a B+ to a minus on all the dishes. We all shared, see pictures. If you're in the grass Valley Nevada city area this is definitely a place to satisfy your Thai Craving.

I had a girls night out with some great friends. I knew this restaurant had new owners and wanted to try it. Between all of us we tried 6 different entrees. Every one of them were so good. I'm new to Thai food and have to say, I will definitely become a regular. The food was fantastic. I can't wait for summer with warmer weather to sit outside in their beautiful outside courtyard eating area. Definitely a five star restaurant.

When you open the door you will see they are greeting you. Nice..

This place is a gem in Nevada city. It's all Thai hospitality here. With the greeting and kindness of the staffs made my meal is wonderful. Parking is on street. They have patio for you to enjoy too. The chef and P' Nok are so kind to my mom as she ordered special dish that is not in the menu and they made it for us. We appreciate they cooked it for my mom. The plates her are so huge. They are worth the money you spend here. I will have my left over for lunch tomorrow definitely. Thank you so much. That is delightful experience visiting Nevada City at Sopa Thai Restaurant.

Sopa Thai current menu 2025 Great place. Such a beautiful patio. Great for the summer time. Great service and delicious food! This is a must have on your list if you're visiting town. The Cashew Nut dish with chicken is my favorite. The best thai tea ever!!

We loved the feel and look of this place while visiting for dinner. It has a cute outside patio. everything came out all at once. we didn't get a wow from it (flavor wise). For example, thought the fried broccoli and masaman could use more flavor ? We did have quite a few dishes that were good! Service was nice and friendly, thank you!

Cocktail menu was unique and we enjoyed both of our drinks. The place seats a lot of people and seemed pretty booked, so I'd def recommend making reservations in advance. The interior decor is well thought out and curated, while preserving history of the old, original building. In all honesty, the hostess staff told us they could not guarantee a booth. However, when we arrived, we were told that all the booths were full, and we were seated in the main dining room. I walked into the bar to take a look at the booths and one was completely empty. Disappointing. The menu was creative and had something for everyone from meat eaters to vegetarians and vegans. Shout out to server Sierra, who was friendly and happy to make recommended and answered all of our questions with a smile. The setting is open and a little loud, but being in the National Hotel, the aesthetic flowed well with the hotel decor. The disappointing part of my party's experience was the fact that service took sooo long. We ordered an appetizer which came out with our main entrees. And drinks that we ordered before any of the food came out, came long after our meal had been served and only after we we asked what had happened to them. We were told that the bar was very busy and that's what delayed our drinks. However, with such a popular hotel, you think they would plan for this in advance. Overall, I would dine here again, but not during the busy dinner service. I would come during off hours only or be seated for dinner at 5 PM before the rush.

There's a menu that has everything from breakfast to dinner with every cultural food imaginable. The food is actually very good! Unfortunately I don't think it's going to succeed because the service is pretty bad! On both occasions I've been there they've been understaffed and the wait for ANYTHING from the servers seemed LONG. But by far my biggest complaint is the ambiance. We came at 7:00, not closing time and from the minute we sat down there were clanging dishes. banging bar stools, crashing noises coming from the bar, as things were getting cleaned up. Then came the sweeper around us and the PINE SOL smell as the floor was cleaned under our feet as we ate our dinner! I was stunned and it was nauseating. It was hard to get either of the server's attention once our food came (as there was lots of cleaning to do!) but we eventually got a to go box and our check. Lotsa luck

The server took the order of the family next to us first even though we had arrived well before them. Once they finally did take our order (which happened about 30-45 mins after we arrived), we had to wait over an hour for our food. Our son's oatmeal alone took almost an hour. Oatmeal! If you are a parent of a toddler, you know this is a nightmare. We knew we'd have to keep him entertained throughout regardless, but it took my husband and I three different walks with our son before they even checked in on us to tell us the food was on its way. Then they brought the food out one dish at a time so we couldn't even really eat together. We heard the server say they were very busy and while I empathize, this is not excusable. The food was delicious but it was not worth the very long wait. I have never waited that long for food and I very rarely leave reviews. But after that experience, I felt compelled to leave a review. We should've left when we realized they were taking a long time even taking our order. We will not come here again unfortunately. As I waited, I noticed several people who ordered after me receiving their food while I was still sitting there. About 15 minutes later, I finally received my to-go sandwich. When I opened the container, it was obvious it had been sitting there for a while. The sandwich was sweaty, and half of it was soggy. Apparently, they had forgotten to bring it to me. By that point, my mocha was already gone before I had even started eating. The BLT itself was made on regular-sized sandwich bread, and the tomatoes and bacon were good. But $34 for a basic BLT and a small iced mocha is outrageous, especially considering the wait and the condition of the sandwich when I finally received it. I will not be going back. The prices are simply far too high for what you get.
