I thought it was weird that their was a bench/booth against the wall but it was super low. No way you can sit there with this tall tables. It looked weird. Nobody was sitting on the booths. Then in the middle of eating, I see the workers moving the tables out and creating a dance floor. I realized it turned into a club like setting, so that is what the booths were for. I have been here a couple of times by myself when my partner was having dinner with a girl friend. Quick taco and a few tequilas. All good. The time before last night was back in the day of parklets and they had some event so I put my name on the wait list but was able to order a drink and taco while I waited. I hung out next door at Peet's sitting on an outside chair. Very nice. A little bit away from the crowds and sound. So that brings us up to last night. My partner and I were walking back to our car after being somewhere. As we walked by it was dark inside and the music was pumping. There was door security but no line so we went in. The dude looked in my partners purse and I was able to walk in without a wanding or pat down. Whew!!!! Upon entering and making our way to the bar we noticed the Grandma's throwing it down in a dance circle with their grey hair wigs, old timey clothing, goofy socks and shoes and canes, can't forget the canes. We have seen them around town before and they are hilarious. I have no idea who these ladies are but they seem to be making a name for themselves in the DubC. Very impressed with people who still know how to have a good time. We hung out for a bit on the fringe where the chairs were before headed back to dance central where the Grandma's were tearing it up. Next thing you know this long blonde hair dude is in the middle dancing with the "old ladies", yes me. One of them lent me her cane. Fun times. Hard pass. I'm actually shocked to see so many great reviews but... it is Walnut Creek and a lot of these folk out here don't really know what good food and drink tastes like. Came here one evening for some drinks and grub. I guess this place turns into a club at night?! I got there beforehand which was just my luck because my clubbing days are over. Sat at the bar and I was greeted and given a menu. Ordered chips and salsa (it's not free here), chicken tacos, and a pineapple margarita to start. Service was slow and all over the place, but they did seem to have a large private party, so maybe that was why. I asked them if they could change the TV to a sports game that was on since it seemed like nobody was watching anyways. The bartender said that he would change it, but it never happened. The chips and salsa arrived and the chips were damn near burnt. They were also super salty. Luckily the salsa was pretty good, but why would you serve this?! As if that wasn't bad enough, the chicken tacos that they served me were bland and had no cheese on them. I mentioned the missing cheese to the bartender, and he came back with a tiny cup of cheese. The drinks were also disappointing. The Pineapple Margarita was like a watered down sugar bomb and the Peach Margarita tasted like straight up aspartame. I actually had to send the peach margarita back because it tasted so gross. They remade it, but it still wasn't up to par in my opinion. Service was all over the place. At one point, the bartender that was initially helping left and never came back. I ended up closing out my tab with someone else. This was definitely a subpar experience. It's funny because I was actually planning on going to Capullo Cocina but ended up at Fuego instead. Bad decision. I won't make that mistake again. read more

Came here for a quick bite during happy hour. Got the tacos al pastor and they were fantastic. Chips and salsa were fire too. Bartender was awesome. Super friendly and made me a delicious paloma. TNF was on a huge TV. Bonus points. Can't believe I was the only one in here. I guess this place is more club like at night but this is much more my speed. 5 stars. Came across this place on a Friday on Yelp while looking for a place to chill for HH. While other bars/restaurants HH ends between 5pm-6pm this place ends at 7pm. My GF Kim actually knows of this place and knows the owner so we decided to give it try. Upon entering we were enthusiastically greeted by bartender Tui which made us feel welcomed immediately. We sat at the bar counter and Tui handed us the menu. He happily explained the HH specials and went over the options for drinks as well as food recommendations. We ordered a few things: Drinks: Fuego Paloma Margarita Casa Fuego Margarita Couple of shots of patron Food: Happy Nachos with steak Street fish tacos Quesabirrias I'm happy to say the drinks and food did not disappoint. Margaritas were spot on, tasted good, came in a big glass and gave us a buzz. Food was more than I expected for the price and had us leaving there feeling full and satisfied. Presentation was great and the food tasted good, no complaints here. The ambiance was nice as well, clean and modern . We will certainly return to this place especially during the weekends since HH is from 12pm-7pm which is lovely. I want to thank Tui for his good vibes and service giving us a positive fun experience always checking in on us to make sure we were good. Also to note Tui informed us he was going on break and introduced the other bartender Allen who will take care of us. I have to say that was a kind courtesy as some places don't do this. I sat at the bar with a friend and service was amazing. They were even kind enough to make a different drink when the one we tried wasn't our favorite. The margarita was amazing! We also tried the churros - they were a bit undercooked in my opinion. We didn't eat any other food but I would be curious to go back and try. WOMEN BEWARE!!! I went to this night club to celebrate my friends bday and the bouncer was so rude, violent and disrespectful. When I asked him how much it costs to get it he told me $200 for me and my friends. I then proceeded to tell him get out of here with that and he then threatened to EFF ME UP and punch me in the face --- mind you it was never that serious. My friends and I told the manager and he did absolutely nothing. The police were across the street and we made a police report and apparently they have had lots of reports on this place and from other women dealing with these violent bouncers. NEVER AGAIN. I stumbled upon Fuego for an impromptu date night this past Friday and was pleasantly surprised. Mani, the manager was an amazing host from the moment we walked in and sat down. Not only was he very personable, but he also made us feel extremely welcome. So much so that we didn't end up leaving until almost 11pm. I ordered the carne asada Burrito bowl and was again pleasantly surprised, this time by how generous they were with the meat. A rarity. The happy hour from 12 to 7 PM on Saturdays is a fantastic bonus. Our bartender (Mina I think)/ waiter was very attentive, ensuring we had a great experience. Disclaimer: This is a delayed review, we visited about 1.5 years ago. We decided to stop by for an early dinner around 5PM after shopping. It definitely seemed more like a bar than a restaurant but we were craving Mexican food. We sat outside because of that. The service was pretty non-existent. I'm thinking they might have forgotten about us half the time since we were sitting outside. In terms of food, we ordered the: - Fuego Veggie Burrito - it was mostly filled with rice and beans - Veggie Nachos - fresh veggies, lots of toppings, definitely recommend this if you stop by! - Veggie Chimichanga - oily but packed with fresh veggies - Enchiladas - ordered the Verde Enchiladas, but we got the Mole Enchiladas because they had ran out of the Verde sauce & the Mole sauce tasted overly bitter I think the vibe became more club-like towards the end of our dinner because the music from the speakers outside started blasting in our ears and it got a lot more crowded inside. Overall, it might have gotten better but I don't believe I will be back for the food or the watered-down drinks! read more

Came here with a group of friends on a Saturday night. No line or cover charge to get in. Played decent music. Friendly staff. My issue is how they add a 15% charge to your bill without telling you upfront. Bought two drinks that totaled about $29 and when I went to complete the transaction, the tip calculation showed up in odd increments like 5% or 7% which I thought was minimal (a couple cents) so I input a custom amount to give a proper amount. When I needed to sign, it showed that 15% charge plus the additional tip which doubled what I was planning to give. Just be aware for that when purchasing drinks at the bar. I had some other friends who didn't even notice so I'm sure they get away with that practice a lot. Not a great way to want to bring customers back. read more

We all raved over it, I would definitely order this to go as well. The drinks were meh- I'm not sure if it was just the bartending staff that night but the drinks didn't have much alcohol in it and was mostly sweet juice. We all were talking after we left how not strong/watered down the drinks were and had to add extra shots to make it an actual margarita lol. Fuego was SO packed, like squeezing through people to get around - so if you're not into that, definitely don't go there. This place was so much fun! If you're looking for a chill spot to dance and listen to good dancing music, this place is it. The DJ was awesome, give me bad bunny all day. I'm a simple girl when it comes to cocktails in these situations so if you have tequila and squirt with a chamoy/tajin rim in a plastic cup, I'm a happy customer. They have plenty of bartenders serving up drinks but because it's so packed, it was expected to push through the bar to get attention. Drinks were a reasonable price (as they should be). After a wonderful meal across the street (Torsap), we stopped by for an impromptu shot of repasado. There was one bartender (who was on the phone) and NO other customers. The bartender was polite enough while we were ordering, but once our bill was paid we received ZERO customer service. We were never offered another drink, a water, or even a "thanks for stopping in" when we left. Some of the best Mexican food in Walnut Creek. Great selection, high quality, and delicious. Service is amazing too. Tui and Mani make this place. Super friendly, attentive, and fun. Prices are very fair too especially for what you get. I stumbled upon this place months ago and can't stop going back. The carnitas and asada are some of the best I've had. I never in a million years expected pico de Gallo on my salad. Had I known, I would have said no pico de Gallo because I don't do onions. Their guacamole also has onions. I don't think I'll be ever ordering from here again. The only thing I could eat from my dinner was the chicken and chorizo, and the chicken had chewy grizzle in it so I'm completely hungry from not even eating half my dinner. *** We were going somewhere else without reservations on a Saturday night and ended up here. I didn't know until I just reviewed the other Yelp reviews that they charge for chips and salsa! No wonder we had to ask for it. I thought we were just being neglected. And yes, she should have said there's a charge. It looks like a sit down restaurant where there would not be a charge for that. The restaurant it cute, has a full bar and screens. The waitress recommended the house margaritas and they really were yummy! The chicken mole was delicious, as were the fajitas. I would definitely come back, maybe for happy hour next time. Friendly service, good drinks. It was pretty empty when we arrived about 7pm on Saturday night. They don't have a ton of different kinds of tequilas like other tequila bars, but they have the basics. The mango caliente really tasted like jalapeño without being super spicy, it was interesting. They have a projector with sports and good music.
