I've tried the best BBQ that Austin, Nashville, Memphis and Atlanta have to offer. I've watched "Chef's Table: BBQ" series on Netflix a number of times. I think that Sauced BBQ is as good as any BBQ I've tried throughout the US. This past weekend I traveled across the bay and ordered the Third Rack of Spare Ribs with a side of Potato Salad and Mac n Cheese. The Spare Ribs - were fall of the bone tender. And the meat was so rich and flavorful. The Mac n Cheese is some of the best I've had. And the Potato Salad while it was super good but had way too much mayonnaise. But I'd probably order both again as sides! Now for the not so good. Sauce was out of Burnt Ends. Ugghhhhh! Every time I visit, I've counted on Burnt Ends being available. I understand they are a scarce commodity, but it was disappointing they were not on the menu. That's how good they are! One comment. I don't know who's decision it was to add a video arcade to the restaurant, but I sincerely felt I was in Vegas at a cheap restaurant on the strip. The place is already pretty loud but to add screaming kids and video games seems a bit odd to me. Just seems completely out of place and doesn't add to the strengths of the restaurant - creating the best environment to serve some of the best BBQ in the Bay Area. Went in last night to try out some bbq I recently heard about over at Sauced in WC! We got in about an hour before closing. It was plenty of seating, we actually got to pick where we wanted since it was not busy. Of course since the Warriors were playing we chose right next to a huge screen. So for the food, I'd say they had a pretty good menu. I love sausage links and was a bit disappointed that they don't serve them. So we both went with the 2 meat combo; ribs and brisket & tri tip, not too bad but I've had better. The portion size was good, it was tasty but not hittin like I was anticipating! Then for sides the Mac was pretty good not hot and the beans were yummy. Ummm the cornbread was a bit dry so I think I'll pass on that next time. Went here on the 9th and had a great time! Started off as a women's meetup and turned coed/family. Met some new people and we most of us were trying this place for the first time. I already planned to have the bumpkins, Brussels sprouts, wings, and then lastly decided on the swamp fries. I shared with my cousin, btw. I absolutely LOVED the Brussels sprouts, thy were soooo goooddd! My goodness, I want to go back just to get some of those. The bumpkins were like egg rolls, they were good but a bit spicy. The swamp fries were a big portion, took it home and enjoyed it the next day though the fries wouldn't crisp back up. What I didn't like was the Watermelon Margarita, it was very strong. Pleasantly surprised by the meal here - certainly not top tier BBQ but it's a solid choice in the area. Ordered the two meat two sides plate - brisket came with some thin and fatty slices and nice seasoning, not too smoky. The pork belly burnt ends were great and tender. i have been to this place a couple times, and it's usually good for the most part! everything i have tried is always yummy which is why i keep coming back lol since i am on keto, i decided to get the tri tip plate with a side of the roasted garlic green beans and a house salad with ranch. the tri tip was cooked perfectly, even my daughter, who is not the biggest meat eater had to steal a few bites from me! the roasted garlic green beans were amazingggggg, like even if i wasn't on a diet, i will be getting those everytime. my only complaint this time was the service. our server did not seem to have much knowledge of the menu and could barely answer the questions we had about it ): we also were never checked on after our food came and had to track him down in order to get our drinks refilled, and we had to ask another server to get us some to go boxes after he kept forgetting to bring them. maybe it was just an off day since the service here is usually great and this definitely will not stop me from coming back! read more

I've tried Sauced in Livermore but had a better experience at this WC location. We came for a friend's birthday party and got seated at one of their picnic benches for large parties. Food took forever to come out- about an hour after we initially sat down, but we kept ourselves busy with some drinks. We tried the 3 meat combo which came with 2 sides: the brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, and pork belly burnt ends were all okay. Not amazing, but not the worst. I actually loved the sides the most- the loaded mash and potato salad were great. We also tried the pulled pork sandwich with waffle fries. The fries were passable, but the pulled pork sandwich? The honey has been wanting to try Sauced BBQ & Spirits for a bit so we made it a lunch date this week. Sauced currently has a lunch special of $22 that includes two proteins and two sides so I went with the Tri Tip and Brisket and the green beans and potato salad. Everything was delicious! While the brisket was a bit on the fatty side for me it was extremely well seasoned (and our favorite) and the tri tip was cooked to perfection! A couple neutrals were that our patio table was rather dirty (but looked clean until you wiped it) and the charge for a fountain soda was a bit on the high side. I was really surprised by this place! My friend recommended it & we actually followed through! You will enjoy the place especially if you have little ones on 2 or 4 legs! I enjoyed my food! I felt like it was a large amount of pork, well cooked, soft, not overly salted.. I saw comments saying the meat is dry... I'm very confused how the meat can be dry when there's very clearly 4 LARGE bbq sauces to pick from & you're free to add as much as you like on your food. I unfortunately didn't try all sauces, I stuck with sweet & tangy. I loved how the cornbread had actual pieces of corn in it! The Dude and I came here on 12/30/24 to celebrate his birthday, and let me tell you--this spot *understood the assignment*. From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly and welcoming, making the experience feel personal and special. I kicked things off with a watermelon cucumber cocktail. The mac and cheese had potential it was not creamy, rich, you would expect as it appear reheated. But it was good. The cheese waffle fries was the STAR the whole experience as it was crispy, cheesy, and loaded with savory chili that made each bite unforgettable. The BBQ platter which the dude said stole the show. The smoked sausage with that deep, smoky goodness, he said it perfectly seasoned wings, and a side of thick-cut, golden waffle fries. And the cornbread he said was tasty with whole bits of corn moist, and buttery with the perfect golden crust. Since it was The Dude's birthday, they surprised us with deep-fried Oreos served with ice cream and a candle! On the house. Oreos were warm, gooey, and dusted with powdered sugar, paired beautifully with creamy vanilla ice cream drizzled in chocolate sauce. It was the perfect celebratory touch. I went to Sauced for the first time, and the group I was with was seated right away. For lunch on a week day, the restaurant was probably about half full. The waitress we had was very friendly and accommodating to any and all of our requests. The food was okay to me. You could get a good amount of BBQ for the price, but I wouldn't expect anything amazing. It fulfills the craving, but there is better out there. I enjoyed the fried pickles and peppers. 6/15/24 I had my trial wedding hair appointment scheduled for that afternoon, so we went to get some lunch beforehand. We had to park pretty far since downtown Walnut Creek always seems to be busy. This is regarding the take out only. The food is just okay. I got the 2 meat plate with burnt ends, brisket, potato salad and the mac & cheese. I also got a small side of cornbread. The meat was just okay. I'm not sure I'd necessarily consider the burnt ends actual burnt ends as some pieces were very fatty without any char to them, pretty underwhelming. The brisket was pretty good but again not excellent or even that notable. The mac & cheese was super oily and not something I would get again. The potato salad was probably the best thing out of everything and the only thing I'd go back for. The cornbread I thought was too sweet, but if you like sweet (and slightly sticky) cornbread you may enjoy it a lot. Our family of four came here on a Monday around 3:30pm. The food was good, but it is all insanely over priced. $37 for a two meat plate? At hazy bbq in Danville you can get a family meal for that price. My husband and I opted for the small nachos ($19!) and split a burnt end sandwich (over$20) and it doesn't come with coleslaw, you have to pay an additional dollar for it- and there was not $1 worth of coleslaw added to my sandwich. Our kids each had the kid meal, one with a cheeseburger and another with mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese came in a tiny side cup but the cheeseburger was a good size and both my kids loved it. I attempted to ask the server if i could get a kid cheeseburger a la carte. They first said they would need to charge me for an entire meal but then said they would check. When they came back they had completely forgotten and dropped off the check. It's open and spacious and there are tvs everywhere. Just beware if there is a game on they will randomly start blasting the sound with no warning so loudly that you feel as though you are at the game. I've been coming to sauced for years and used to go to the original in Livermore a lot. The prices have always been high but were manageable. Now they are just astronomical for what you get. Okay Walnut Creek! All hail the sauce! First time visiting this restaurant. My brother in law has been talking non stop about this place and always buys bbq sauce from here for grilling. It is a cross between a dive bar, a sports bar, and sit down restaurant. They are able to achieve this by offering high top or restaurant seating. Our server Nico gave excellent service and recommendations. My greedy butt once again ate the food before taking a picture. My time enjoyed and also inhaled fish tacos, blue cheese fries, and mac and cheese wile sipping on a bourbon and peach cocktail. Speaking of bourbon they have 100 bottles to choose from and over 20 beets(scan QR code for full list). It can be a little bit pricey but absolutely worth it. Our sandwiches were amazing!!!! Cole slaw inside, and so good! I was so impressed with the sandwiches and they made our day. Meat was juicy and Delicious. Sides: the waffle fries with the rub were cold, and just have way too much seasoning/salt. Had they been hot, maybe they would've been better. Waffle fries without the rub are good, just ask for them hot or at least warm. Baked potato was delicious. Ask for more sour cream on the side, because it only comes as a drizzle. Tastes like there's mashed potato at the very top of the baked potato, mixed with butter seasoning and sour cream. Just fyi, and it's good. Root beer from the tap is syrupy. Not enough carbonation. They said it comes out of their machine that way. Some recommendations for management: get some tall plants for that outdoor area to shield some of the parking lot vibe. I think I have really high expectations of BBQ and smoked meats now since my husband has turned this into his biggest hobby. Came here with my family as I was in town visiting. We were looking for a place with lots of meat (my husband is doing an all carnivore diet) and with a patio (my request because it was beautiful outside). What was kind of lacking for me was the food. I did order the cucumber watermelon lemonade, too, and it was suuuuper refreshing, though I didn't really taste any alcohol in it haha. I ordered a meat platter of pulled pork, my favorite, and then got mac and cheese and waffle fries on the side. I wanted the Asian slaw, but they were out sadly. My biggest reason for the three stars is that my pulled pork was rather cold. I was kind of surprised by that. And the mac and cheese was just alright. What I really did enjoy was the sauce. They had a sweet BBQ sauce which was pretty damn good! I do also wish the meat came with some type of bread. My husband did get the corn bread as a side, but I think it should probably come with some kind of white bread toast or something. The corn bread was also pretty good, but again, kind of cold. Absolutely mediocre.... Sauced has gone extremely downhill. The cost is no longer worth the food. It's been years since I've been to a sauced (honestly since they took greens of the menu, that was the fiirst strike). However was craving bbq on this day and the other local bbq joints suck so ended up at sauced. To start, they only had maybe half their meats available shortly after opening. Nothing on their menu or website states that besides the Dino rib isn't available until after a certain time. The wings do not look or taste smoked and seasoned only with maybe salt and pepper...sadly underflavored. Saving grace was the pulled pork and the fried pickles and peppers. If you're looking for real good bbq....go anywhere else. Even slow hand bbq in martinez or pleasant that is also not great, is better than sauced. read more
