After eating the pasta, there was a 2-3oz. puddle of sauce on the plate. (hint: if you like this dish, drive to Jack's in Pleasant Hill. I ordered a regular Marguerita. Not much tequila. The salad was amazing, I loved the dressing which apparently they make in house. We came by here before a concert at the Pavilion. It seems like the go-to place for a pre-game before the concert. It's open seating, and there were seats available so I am glad we didn't have to wait. It definitely gave off a mom-and-pop vibe. Everyone there seemed like they were either regulars or concert-goers. Our server was pretty attentive even when it was a busy night. The drinks were good, but needed an extra kick. I ordered margaritas and it was refreshing, but sweet. For food, we ordered the sampler, calamari and two different pastas: Shrimp and Chicken Diavlo and pescatore to share. My son and I decided to try dinner since we haven't been here since before the pandemic. It was so nice to be back. The front bar area was full of fun locals. We sat in the back room where it is quieter. We were greeted promptly on arrival and advised to grab a seat. Within a few minutes of sitting, our server was there. He was friendly and attentive all evening. The free foccacia was warm and delicious. I dipped it in the marinera while my son used the butter. It was so good we asked for seconds. My son had the fettuccini con pollo. He said it was excellent with a rich and creamy sauce. I had the penne romano. The cayenne sauce had a kick without being too spicy. The chicken was tender and the sun dried tomatoes gave it a nice tart contrast. When our pastas came out, we were reminded how huge the portions were. But it was so good, we finished everything! Exellent service. Amazing food. Generous portions. And a friendly atmosphere. You really can't ask for more. read more

We stopped in just before going to a concert up the road. The happy hour had great food including the potatoes skins, sliders and chicken tenders. We ordered too much. The staff was quick to refill drinks or ask if we needed anything. You could witness workers dashing around the busy Friday crowd, they were pleasant to talk to- those behind the bar allowed us to guess their names and played along as well. We were able to watch some of the giants game in the big screen at the bar and most of the seating directly behind it could watch as well. The bathrooms were clean, food tasted great and overall the experience was a good one. read more

Are you looking for a neighborhood restaurant that has good food at reasonable prices, friendly servers, Taco Tuesday, and Happy Hour? Look no further. Pavilion Bar & Grill is located in the Clayton Station and there's plenty of parking. We came for Happy Hour but didn't realize they also do Taco Tuesday! Beef or chicken tacos are just $2 each and comes with salsa. And they're pretty tasty! In order to take advantage of Happy Hour, you need to sit at the bar area or in their enclosed outdoor patio. It was a little chilly out, but the fire pit was going and it was warm and cozy. Our lovely server brought our menus to our table and mentioned they served Happy Hour daily (3-6 pm) and of course, tacos on Tuesday. She didn't have a Happy Hour menu to show us but she knew the menu well and recited what was on special. We were quite impressed that she didn't even have to write our orders down on paper. She memorized it and our food arrived with no mistakes. When we asked for condiments or water our server was quick to fulfill our requests. Didn't realize that this place gets rather busy but our server checked up on us a few times to make sure we were taken care of. It can get noisy too especially when there's a game on. The Warriors were playing. I ordered 2 sliders and fries and it was only $6. It was pretty standard but I'm not complaining. The portions were generous and filling. My friend ordered pasta Bolognese and she received a healthy bowlful. And another friend ordered a side salad instead of fries with her sliders and asked to add chicken. Boy did she get a lot of chicken with her salad. So if you need a casual night out with friends that won't break the bank, come here. Been in this area for a long time but this was my first time trying the Italian at the Pavilion. Tried the fettuccine chicken Marsala with a side order of fried zucchini. The fettuccini Marsala was ok. The chicken was breaded so it was a little soggy. The fried zucchini though was disappointing. Fried sticks but inside was more like zucchini mush. Seemed like more like what you would buy in the frozen section of restaurant food supply than something fresh. Guess I'm still looking for good Italian. read more

He was the nicest, easiest person to work with. Second the food was fabulous! They made EVERYTHING perfectly! From pastas to die for to pizza perfection and salad supreme, all 25 people in our party loved every bite! Third, the ambiance, the place is already amazing stylish but they allowed us to out up decorations, attach things to the wall, use our lights and fog machine and EVERYTHING! Service was also tops! My family came to Pavillion Bar & Grill during a two hour gap between our friends wedding ceremony and reception. We were starving because we were all dummy's and didn't eat before the loooong ceremony lol So we were ecstatic when we got our appetizers SO fast! The fries were sooo good!
